Chapter 6

Celine sat down on the couch, staring blankly at the wall. She had just come back from the hospital, and her whole world had changed in an instant. She was pregnant, and she had no idea what to do.

Rachel came into the living room and sat down next to Celine, sensing that something was wrong.

Rachel: "Honey pie, what's going on? Are you okay?"

Celine: "No, I'm not. I just found out that I'm pregnant."

Rachel's eyes widened in surprise.

Rachel: "Wow, that's...that's huge news. Congratulations!"

Celine shook her head, feeling overwhelmed.

Celine: "It's not exactly good news. I don't know what to do, Rachel. I wasn't expecting this at all, and I don't know how I'm going to handle being a mother."

Rachel: "Okay, okay, take a deep breath. Let's start from the beginning. How did this happen?" I hope that bastard Michael is not the father.

Celine took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her confession heavy on her chest.

Celine: "It's from that one-night stand I had with Alexander two months ago."

Rachel looked at Celine in surprise, clearly not expecting that answer.

Rachel: "Oh...wow. I see. Well, that changes things a bit, doesn't it?"

Celine nodded, feeling a knot form in her stomach.

Celine: "I don't know what to do, Rachel. I can't raise a baby alone, and I don't even know if I'm ready to be a mother. I feel like my whole life is about to change, and I'm not prepared for it."

Rachel put a comforting arm around Celine's shoulders.

Rachel: "Listen, I understand that this is a huge shock for you, but you need to think about what's best for the baby. It's not just about you anymore. You need to consider all your options, including keeping the baby."

Celine:"Babe, that's gonna be difficult for me. You know how busy I am with work."

Rachel: "Babe,I hope you are not thinking about removing the innocent baby in your womb."

Celine: "Do you really think I could do this? Be a mother?"

Rachel: "Absolutely. You're strong, capable, and resourceful. You have a support system in me and your family, and you can always reach out to other resources like support groups and counseling. And who knows? Maybe this will be the best thing that ever happened to you."

Celine looked at Rachel, feeling a flicker of hope in her heart. Celine took a deep breath, feeling a sense of clarity wash over her.

Celine: "Thank you, Rachel. You're right. I need to consider all my options and do what's best for the baby. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm going to do my best to be the best mother I can be."

Rachel: "That's the spirit. We'll get through this together, I promise." I think you should tell Alexander about the baby," Rachel said, her voice gentle. "It's the right thing to do."

Celine shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her eyes downcast.

"But what if he doesn't want anything to do with the baby?" she asked, her voice trembling. "It was just a one night stand. I don't even know if he remembers me."

Rachel reached across the table and took Celine's hand. I understand that you're nervous, but you can't just ignore this," she said firmly. "You have a responsibility to this baby, and Alexander deserves to know that he's going to be a father."

Celine sighed, feeling overwhelmed by the situation.

"I know you're right, but I'm just so scared," she admitted. "What if he thinks I'm trying to trap him? What if he doesn't want anything to do with me or the baby?"

Rachel gave her friend a reassuring smile.

"Those are all valid concerns, but you won't know how he'll react until you tell him," she said. "And if he doesn't want to be a part of the baby's life, then that's his loss. You can raise this baby on your own and give it all the love and support it needs."

Celine nodded, feeling slightly more confident.

"You're right. I need to tell him," she said, taking a deep breath. "But I don't know how to even begin the conversation."

Rachel squeezed her hand.

"Just be honest with him. Tell him what's going on and how you feel," she said. "It won't be easy, but it's the right thing to do."

Celine nodded again, feeling a sense of determination growing within her.

"Thank you for being here for me, Rachel. I don't know what I would do without you," she said, giving her friend a grateful smile.

Rachel smiled back.

Weeks later………..

Celine sat nervously in her car, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as she stared at the imposing gates in front of her,She had his business card clutched in her other hand. Beyond them lay the sprawling company of Alexander Jameson, the father of her unborn child. She had spent the past few days trying to work up the courage to tell him the truth, but now that she was here, she felt more nervous than ever.

As she waited for the gates to open, her mind raced with all the possible outcomes of this meeting. Would Alexander be angry with her? Would he deny the baby was his? Or worse, would he want nothing to do with them? Celine knew that telling him the truth was the right thing to do, but she couldn't help feeling scared. Celine took a deep breath as she stepped out of her car and made her way towards Alexander's office building.

As she entered the reception area, she felt a wave of nervousness wash over her. The thought of telling Alexander that he was going to be a father was overwhelming. She took a seat and waited for her name to be called. Celine had waited for hours, filled with nervous energy and anticipation, only to be turned away. She felt her heart sink as the receptionist informed her that she wouldn't be able to see Alexander that day. She tried to hide her disappointment, thanking the receptionist and heading out of the building.

As she stepped outside, Celine took a deep breath of fresh air, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She knew that she couldn't keep putting this off - she needed to tell Alexander about the baby. She made a mental note to call and reschedule her appointment with him as soon as possible.

Celine arrived home feeling defeated after being turned away from Alexander's office without being able to tell him about the baby. She couldn't believe she had worked up the courage to go and then not even get the chance to speak to him. As she walked into her apartment, Rachel could see the disappointment written all over Celine's  face. "How did it go?" Rachel asked, sensing that something was wrong.

Celine slumped down on the couch and let out a heavy sigh. "I didn't even get to see him," she said, her voice filled with frustration.

"What do you mean?" Rachel asked, taking a seat next to her friend. "Did something happen?"

Celine explained what had happened at Alexander's office and how she was turned away. "I don't even know when I'm going to get another chance to talk to him," she said, her voice trailing off.

Rachel put her arm around Celine's  shoulder. "It's going to be okay," she said. "You'll get another chance to tell him. And in the meantime, you can focus on taking care of yourself and the baby."

Celine nodded, grateful for Rachel's support. "I just can't believe this is happening," she said, her eyes filling with tears.

Rachel squeezed her friend's shoulder. "I know it's scary, but you're not alone in this. We'll get through it together."

Celine took a deep breath and wiped away her tears. She knew Rachel was right. She had to stay positive and focus on what was best for her and the baby.
