A week after the incident at the business party, Alexander had to go on a business trip to Dubai for two weeks. He told Celine that he would be back as soon as possible. She was sad to see him go, but she knew that he had to do it for work.

"I have to go away on a business trip," he said. "I'll be gone for two weeks."

He went to the door, and then he turned back. "Bryan?" he called.

His son came running into the room. He was only three years old, but he was already very attached to his father.

"Daddy," he said, wrapping his arms around Alexander's legs.

"I have to go away for a little while," Alexander said. "But I'll be back."

Bryan started to cry. "Don't go, Daddy," he said. "I want to go with you."

Alexander picked up Bryan and held him close. "I wish you could come with me," he said. "But I have to go by myself."
