“When I saw you, I figured you were newly employed here. I just didn’t think we’d be working in such proximity.” George– Mr. Galanti said. He was still as casual as he could be, as though nothing happened between us. Maybe it just wasn’t remarkable for him.

“Me too, sir.” I was sitting opposite him in his office. I never thought a day would come when I would be in such a situation but there I was.

“You know what your work entails, right?” He asked like I was dumb.

I held back the frown threatening to break free. I couldn’t talk to him however I wanted now. He was my boss and I’d be working a room away from him. “Answering the phone, managing diaries, organizing meetings and appointments, booking and arranging travel–“

He held out his hand, effectively cutting me off. “Aside from the regular secretarial job, I’m certain you read the details of your job. It includes being my personal assistant, which means you’ll also run personal errands for me.”
