Spitfire was careful as he moved closer to the gathered demons. What he heard was shocking. The assembly was going through viable ways to overthrow the Black Devil. He felt most of them were ill-conceived and the plot looking to get the most support was never going to work.

But still, why now? The Black Devil had ruled... well, forever as far as the ginger-haired no-fur knew.

As far as he could tell the demons weren't even dissatisfied with ol'Blackie's leadership, just the fact that he was a Black-fur tom and not a demon. But again, why now? It was common knowledge the Black Devil was a tom. All the stories said it was for the sake of balance. And no one really knew or understood where demons came from. Were they twisted tom souls or what became of those who dabbled a bit too far in the dark arts?
