New Life and Pack

Saphira had slept for the whole day and night due to how exhausted she was from the day before. She got up from the bed. She noticed that her dress, shoes, and makeup were off and that she was in a t-shirt and sweats. She assumed that it was Xavier's clothing since her clothes were at Native Darkness Pack. She had forgotten that she had gotten changed yesterday into these clothes. She honestly didn't want any of the clothes since everything was picked out for her. Along with forgetting that she was supposed to go shopping yesterday for new clothes.

She had to stumble about since she didn't know where everything was in the room. She knew that she was going to have some bruising from hitting the walls, the bed, and a desk and chair that were in the room. She muttered curse words as she stumbled. She did eventually find the closet. Though, she didn't know what clothes to pick out or even what they looked like.

"Lune Saphira? Are you in here?" A voice called out. It sounded like a female voice.

"I'm in the closet!" Saphira called out. She soon heard footsteps coming from the closet.

"How did you get in here? Doesn't matter, I'm Rory. Alpha Xavier asked me to help you get dressed before Ember and Cassie take you shopping." Rory said gently.

It soon came flooding back to her. "Right. I was supposed to go shopping yesterday for new clothes and Xavier had lent me some of his clothes to go shopping in before I slept all night and day." Saphira said softly. She couldn't believe she had completely forgotten about it. Granted, she was still in a daze from waking up.

"Is it okay if I help you pick out some clothes to change into. Luna Saphira?" Rory asked gently.

"Please? I don't know where Xavier put what clothes he got me." Saphira said. She wasn't sure if he actually got her anything. She remembered him saying something about getting her some clothes but she felt like he was lying to her.

"Are dresses easier or are skirts easier to put on?" Rory asked Saphira.

Saphira had to think about this. "Dresses and skirts are easy for me as long as they don't have any zippers or buttons. Shorts are the same way. It's mostly what I wore back in my old pack." Saphira said.

She soon heard hangers moving about and some drawers opening and closing. "Here. There's a skirt, a shirt, a bra, and some underwear. The shirt is soft and light blue. The skirt is plaid with light and dark blue. The skirt is a slip-on." Rory said with a gentle smile on her face.

"Thank you, Rory," Saphira said. Rory stepped out to let Saphira have some kind of privacy.

Saphira struggled to get the current bra off and put on the bra that was given to her. She’ll need bras that are easy to get on and off. Which is usually a sports bra. After a bit of struggling, Saphira got fully dressed.

She soon walked out and bumped into someone. She could feel that the person was definitely strong and muscular. After getting his scent, she realized that it was her mate, Xavier.

"X-Xavier? W-What are you doing here?" Saphira asked. She was surprised and a bit scared. She heard him growl as she felt him looking at her. She backed up a bit since she was scared. She wasn't sure what Xavier was doing or what he was going to do. She soon felt a strong hand on her arm. She whimpered and started to have a panic attack.

"When did you get this scar on your arm?" Xavier asked Saphira.

Saphira didn't know she had a scar on her arm. She couldn't remember how she got it. "What scar? I don't have a scar.” Saphira said in confusion. She was confused and scared about what Xavier was saying. Saphira didn't understand and she could feel Xavier looking at her intently.

"Don’t worry about it. Forget I said anything." Xavier said sternly. He soon motioned for Ember and Cassie.

Saphira was still confused. She soon grabbed his arm since he let go of her. "Xavier please. You're scaring me. Please tell me what’s wrong. I don't understand." Saphira said, with panic in her voice. She heard him growl and huff.

"Saphira, please. Don't worry about it. Just focus on your shopping trip. I'll tell you when you come home. I promise. Please. I know you're scared." Xavier told her sternly. He kissed the top of her head.

Saphira whimpered but stopped arguing with him. "Okay. I'll go. Please, tell me when I get home." Saphira said softly before Ember and Cassie helped her get her socks and shoes on.

The three girls soon left. Saphira sighed a bit as Cassie got in the driver's side, Saphira got in the passenger side, and Ember got in the back. Saphira gave short answers when Ember and Cassie asked her questions.

"Luna Saphira, please don't worry about what Xavier said. He means well. I promise. Let's try and have fun. Okay?" Ember said.

Saphira sighed at this. "I can try but I can't make any promises. But where are we going?" Saphira asked.

"We’re going to the mall. We hope to get you some nice clothes." Cassie said happily.

"The mall? I've never been to a mall. Then again, I wasn't allowed to leave the pack house." Saphira said. She was surprised that they were taking her there.

"Xavier had mentioned it. Don't worry, you’ll have fun." Ember said happily. "Just be careful. Humans don't know about our community. There are a few shops that are run by werewolves." Ember explained.

"It's just a fair warning. But don't worry, you’ll know which ones are human and which are werewolves." Cassie added in.

Saphira nodded at this. "I’m guessing humans have a different scent from werewolves? At least that's what I heard. Along with acting differently." Saphira said as she thought about it.

"It's hard to tell sometimes since some humans use way too much perfume. Don't get me started on the nails." Ember stated as she gagged. Cassie laughed a bit.

"Don’t worry. You’ll be safe with us. We’re almost there. I can see the parking lot." Cassie said.

Saphira was rather surprised by this. She didn't realize that they were that close. "We’re that close? It's only been thirty minutes." Saphira said.

Ember and Cassie chuckled at this. "We’re the only pack that lives this close to a city with a mall. Xavier likes being close to one since he loves walking in the city." Cassie said. Saphira was surprised by this. She didn't know that. Saphira wondered if she could get Xavier to take her on a date in the city.

She soon felt the car stop. "Alright, we’re here. Let's go. We parked as close as we could to the entrance." Ember said and Saphira nodded at this.

Ember and Cassie guided Saphira into the mall. Saphira was overwhelmed by all the smells from the mall. Along with how loud the mall was. Cassie and Ember did what they could to help Saphira since she was starting to panic. After a few minutes, Saphira was ready to go.

Cassie and Ember guided Saphira from store to store getting her clothes and shoes. A lot of the clothes Saphira had gotten were alternative clothing from the stores. Cassie and Ember weren't sure about this or how Xavier would react to this. Saphira was also worried about it but she liked the feel of the clothes. She hoped that Xavier understood that.

Saphira soon heard her stomach growl. She hadn't had the chance to eat breakfast. "Let's get something to eat. I'm getting hungry as well." Ember said as Cassie nodded at this.

"Where should we eat? I don't know what’s here or what to eat." Saphira said.

"What are you feeling like eating? The food court has a bit of everything." Cassie said.

Saphira had to think about it. "Pizza? Please? I've been craving a meat-lover's pizza." Saphira said. She was rather excited about it.

Cassie and Ember smiled at this. The two helped Saphira get there and ordered everything. The three soon sat down once they found a place to sit down at. The three talked during lunch before going back to shopping.

After a day of shopping, they went home. Saphira was exhausted from the day's events. She was still worried about facing her mate and the scar. She couldn't really feel the scar. She didn't remember how she got it in the first place. She wondered if it had something to do with her old pack getting attacked when she was little.

After about thirty minutes of driving, Ember, Cassie, and Saphira came home. Saphira could tell that it was getting dark since she could feel the temperature changing slightly. Ember and Cassie got all of the bags so Saphira didn't have to carry anything.

They entered the pack house and saw that everyone was on edge. Ember and Cassie checked their phones. They made sure that they gave updates to everyone in the pack.

"What's going on? Why is everyone tense? We made sure to check in and when we’d return." Cassie said, confused.

"Something must have happened before we got home," Ember said. Saphira was nervous about what was going on.

"Cassie? Ember? what’s going on?" Saphira asked in fear. She was scared since she didn’t know what was going on.

"We don't know. We need to find Alpha Xavier. He’ll probably know what's going on." Cassie said.

"Cassie, you go find Xavier. I'll take Luna Saphira to her room. Leave the bags where they are for right now." Ember said and Cassie nodded.

Saphira and Ember soon went to the room Saphira shared with Xavier. Saphira sat on the bed while Ember stood guard. It felt like an eternity for Saphira before Xavier came barreling into the room. He was panting like he had run a marathon.

"Thank the moon goddess that you're okay. What the fuck happened?" Xavier growled out. Ember and Saphira jumped.

"Alpha, Cassie texted you and some of the others when and what time we're coming home. What happened here?" Ember asked.

Xavier checked his phone and saw that Ember was right before growling again. "A rogue group of werewolves attacked. They were looking for Saphira. The reason for it is still unknown." Xavier said. Saphira was confused by this. She didn't understand. Ember didn't like this at all.

"Ember, gather some of the others and scout the territory. I'll protect Saphira." Xavier said.

"Very well, Alpha," Ember said before leaving.

Once Ember left, Xavier growled and started to pace around the room. Saphira sat up against the wall and held her knees. She was terrified. She was also shaking since she was confused.

Xavier soon came over and tightly hugged her once he noticed how his mate looked. "Are you okay? I know you’re scared and confused." Xavier said.

"I don't understand. I'm no one special. I'm not even a threat. I don't know if my old pack is trying to get me back for whatever reason or if there's a traitor in the pack." Saphira said as her voice broke.

Xavier held his mate tighter. "Don’t you worry, you're safe here in my pack. We’ll figure out who’s behind this." Xavier stated with a snarl. Saphira tensed at this. Xavier kissed the top of her head. 

Xavier and Saphira stayed like that until dinner. Even then, everyone was still tense. It was also quiet. It was odd since it was usually lively. Soon, everyone went their separate ways. Xavier was a lot more hostile and aggressive. Along with being way more protective of Saphira. Saphira hated it but she couldn’t fight or argue with it. It was soon getting late and everyone was getting tired. Though, some members had taken the night shift to make sure that the territory was safe from any threats. Which was good. It was going to be like this for a long time.
