Chapter 5

Arianna

The call came from the hospital where my father had breathed his last. They had just told him that my father was dead.

Upon hearing this, Dean immediately raised his voice: "What kind of joke is this? Dead? Are you conspiring with Arianna to deceive me? Remember clearly, I'm your Alpha!"

He angrily hung up after speaking.

Seeing this, Vivien softly said: "Why don't I go to the hospital today to check? That would put your mind at ease."

Looking at these two werewolves performing their duet, my stomach churned. It was despicable to watch.

I struggled to stand straight and tried to leave.

If I stayed here any longer, I might actually throw up.

But just as I leaned against the cabinet to turn around, Dean coldly said: "Wait! Until this matter is cleared up, I forbid you to leave!"

"I promised to help you fulfill your father's dying wish, and things aren't over yet. You can't leave."

"Besides, I won't allow things between us to end so unclearly. I can't tolerate any uncertainty."

Hearing his self-righteous words, my heart was full of mockery.

I raised one finger to wipe the blood flowing from the corner of my mouth, holding it before his eyes.

"Can't tolerate uncertainty? Isn't Vivien the biggest uncertainty between us? I see your tolerance is quite good."

Dean immediately erupted in anger: "You never stop, do you? Just because I didn't complete what you asked this time? Vivien is right, we don't even know if your father was really sick, how could he suddenly die? Can't I make it up to you later?"

I laughed at his shamelessness: "Who do you think you are? Does my father's death need your approval?"

The sarcasm in my voice wounded his pride.

The next second, he rushed forward and slapped me again on the less swollen side of my face.

The sharp sound exploded in the living room, and only after he struck did his eyes show belated panic.

"Arianna , calm down first. Our matters... we can talk after you've calmed down."

"You can stay in this house for now. I'll go back to the old mansion for a few days."

I ignored his words. Determined to leave, I decided to finalize our break up and make the severance of our ties formal and practical, taking him by complete shock.

“I, Arianna Gunther, reject you, Dean Willows of the Moonstone Pack,” I said with a solid voice, holding my chest.

“What? How dare a weak omega like you try to reject me?” He asked with a look of shock and disbelief displayed on his face. He could not believe his ears.

“I, Arianna Gunther, reject you, Dean Willows of the Moonstone Pack,” I repeated with a more solid voice, much more determined than ever this time.

“You are nothing without me Arianna , you are going to regret this, I promise you.” He said in protest again, his eyes burning with rage and anger.

“I, Arianna Gunther, reject you, Dean Willows of the Moonstone Pack,” I said for the third and last time, confirming my rejection with the pain in my heart.

“I, Dean Willows, Alpha of the Moonstone Pack, accept your rejection.” He said, realizing he had no choice but to do so. My mind was made up.

I felt excruciating pain in my chest as soon as he accepted the rejection. I could feel our ties coming off.

I turned to leave immediately.

Unexpectedly, Vivien, who had been enjoying the drama unfolding and was happy to witness our unmating, rushed to my side and gently took my arm.

“Arianna , please don’t do this, listen to Alpha Dean and stay. Why did you have to reject him as your mate?"

Hearing her pretentious words, I didn't give her as much as a glance.

I pushed her away without much force, but Vivien fell heavily to the ground.

She immediately burst into tears, acting all pitiful.

She looked at me with tear-filled eyes: "I'm sorry, Arianna . I just don't want you to have misunderstandings. Please think this through, you both are mates.”

Her voice was full of undisguised concern.

I smiled coldly, my gaze falling on her delicate pretentious face:

"Not anymore Vivien. Congratulations, now you can have him all to yourself."

She thought defeating me would make her Mrs. Willows.

But she didn't understand that I was never her real opponent.

Let's see if she can even enter the Willows family's door first.

Dean, seeing her fall, was heartbroken. He walked over and gently picked Vivien up, gave me one last cold look.

“You are going to regret this Arianna , I promise you. You won’t last without me!” He said harshly, then turned to the door and left with Vivien.

He got outside and placed her in his convertible.

Looking at that familiar convertible, my cold expression froze for a moment.

For five years, I had never once received his permission to sit in that car.

He was afraid - afraid of the pack members knowing he was with someone so ordinary.

I suppressed the emotions in my eyes, and when I looked up again, my face was completely indifferent.

My heart was completely shattered. I took one last look at the penthouse apartment that used to be my home, our home.

Now everything has gone downhill, all thanks to that conniving wrench.

I left the house with my packed suitcase after I managed to gather up what was left of it. Everything was in shambles, but I was determined to leave.

“I have to leave this pack and go back home, to my real pack. I don’t see any reason why I should still wait here.”

Dean was the only reason why I stayed in this unwelcoming pack for five good years with nothing good to show for it.

“Now that we are done, I have to go back where I belong. I’ll probably rot there till I am gray and old, but it’s way better than being here.”

I hailed a cab and decided to book a hotel instead. I needed to clear my head and prepare myself before returning to my original pack.

It’s been five solid years.

“I need to go back with my head held high. I am a total mess right now.” I said, looking at myself with obvious irritation. I was really looking haggard.

Just after entering the hotel and putting down my luggage, I opened my phone to rest when I saw the headline news of reporters secretly photographing Dean carrying Vivien into the old mansion.

I zoomed in on the picture, looking at the solemn and majestic gate in the photo, confirming that this was the Willows family home I hadn't been qualified to enter for five years.

At this moment, my already dead feelings seemed to disappear even more thoroughly.

What I had begged for but couldn't get was easily obtained by Vivien.

I had heard Dean mention the Willows family's security before - not even a fly could get in, let alone reporters.

Without thinking, I knew this was deliberately arranged by Vivien. She is the whole force behind all this.

She had finally succeeded in coming between Dean and me, or was I the hindrance in their love story the whole time?

I didn't even close the page, just locked my phone screen. I was not interested in seeing any more of this.

“Out of sight, out of mind.” Accalia, my inner wolf whispered.

But little did I know that it was just the beginning of my woes. What I saw next shattered my heart and shook me to my roots.

  • The Bloodline Heiress: From Weak Omega to Supreme Luna   Chapter 31

Arianna~Flashback Continues ~At first I did not pay attention to where we were. All I wanted was to get far away from the Queen mother at that moment, so I didn’t seem to mind where Alpha Ryder took me.Alpha Ryder’s mother was probably out to get my head, owing to what just happened, she was probably about to bring those threats alive, and I was not going to wait while that happened. At that moment, I depended on Alpha Ryder’s help, even though he was the cause of all that happened in the first place. My life had turned out like this, all thanks to his plan. A plan that I didn’t even know about yet.“Come in here,” he said with a steady voice as he opened the door and guided me inside. The door shut behind us with a soft click, a sound that somehow echoed in the silence, far louder in my chest than it should have. The moment we stepped in, I looked around, a good look to see where we had just entered. And I saw clearly. The dark wooden pillars, the heavy velvet curtains, the gold

Arianna I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. My eyes fluttered open slowly, taking in the soft morning light that spilled across the room, it was warm, gentle, and almost too peaceful to be true. But that peaceful feeling didn’t last a second. As my vision cleared, the room slowly came into focus. The tall, dark wooden pillars stood at each corner, polished to a shine. Heavy velvet curtains framed the windows, their deep color making the morning light look softer as it filtered in. Gold accents ran along the walls and furniture, giving the entire room a warm, rich glow.It was elegant, it was grand, it was powerful. And definitely not the room I had slept in before. It was glaring to a fault. My breath hitched and my heart raced as though it was about to beat out of my chest. I pushed myself up slightly, my eyes darting around, trying hard to locate something, anything I could at least recognize. But the more I looked, the faster panic crept up my spine. And t

  • The Bloodline Heiress: From Weak Omega to Supreme Luna   Chapter 29 - A Plan

RyderI could not believe what I had just done. Did I just kiss Arianna? I could not pinpoint the force that pushed me to land my lips on hers. All I knew was that, I wanted to do it so badly as I watched her lips move when she was asking me all of those questions.I remembered being at a loss for words, trying to figure out the best way to explain my public declaration to her. I did not ever imagine I was going to kiss her.My plan was different, even though I knew that there was some kind of force between us, something that was dragging me towards her, this was not the way I wanted it to turn out.I wondered if she was going to believe my words and what I was about to propose, now that I had moved faster than myself. But then, I still could not seem to regret it. It felt like the right thing to do in that moment, if Rufus had not interrupted. All of these thoughts went through my head as I shot Rufus a look. If only looks could kill, he might have been six feet under. Then I heard

  • The Bloodline Heiress: From Weak Omega to Supreme Luna   Chapter 28 - Be My Mate.

AriannaI stood still in the hallway, far away from the chaos that had just threatened to swallow the trajectory of my entire life. Far away from the, was I to say ‘madness’ that had just happened?I did not know what to call it, nor could I tell what he was thinking. He seemed to have planned and decided on something, all on his own, without ever telling me he was going to do that, until he did.Now I was not ready to move or bulge from the spot I stood until I heard the explanation he had for me. That was probably the only last thin thread of what could make sense or make me see the direction he was going.Beta Rufus was right earlier. What if Dean would see the broadcast of this evening and decide that I had just jumped from the fry pan, straight into the fire? Into the pit of hell?Who knows if that was the direction my life was heading with everything that just happened?‘I am not going to give Dean the satisfaction of seeing me down. Even Vivien would mock the life out of me.’ I

RyderI inhaled slowly, preparing to speak—preparing to address the betrothal, to end that chapter once and for all. The entire hall leaned forward, waiting for the words that would undoubtedly set this kingdom on fire. But just as I opened my mouth—“STOP!”My mother’s voice sliced through the air like a blade.Every head snapped toward her, including mine. She had risen slightly from her seat, one hand gripping the armrest as though she needed to hold herself down to keep from lunging forward. Her eyes locked onto mine, warning blazing in every inch of her expression.Of course she didn’t want me to continue. If I spoke about the betrothal…If I publicly dissolved it right here…It would be over for her. It would be over for her plans, her alliance dream, her control. It would mean she had lost, not just the fight, but the entire battlefield. She couldn’t allow me to say those words. Before I could respond, she drew in a tight breath and turned her attention toward Elder Brann, her

  • The Bloodline Heiress: From Weak Omega to Supreme Luna   Chapter 26 -A Broken Promise

RyderSeeing Arianna on the floor like that made something in my chest twist painfully. The look on her face, the look of shock, betrayal, and pure devastation, it hit me harder than any blow I’d ever taken.I had promised her I would set the record straight, but I never told her how I was going to do that. I never told her that instead of debunking the rumors, I would be confirming them.If she had known the truth, she never would have stepped foot into this hall with me, she never would have taken my hand. She never would have trusted me long enough for me to protect her the way I knew I needed to.She would have run, far from me, far from this pack, far from everything that was about to explode. She would never have followed me back into the palace grounds. And that was exactly why I kept it from her. This was the only way I could protect her.“Why did you do this?” she whispered, her voice trembling as tears slid down her cheeks, as though something were breaking. “You promised me
