"Strip," Dante ordered, his voice cold and commanding. Nora stood frozen in horror, disbelief washing over her. He leaned closer, eyes darkening. "And if you don't, I'll do it myself," his tone unwavering. She knew he meant it, her heart racing, unable to utter a word as the dangerous man before her mistook her for someone else entirely. When innocent Nora takes the fall for her cruel sister, Aria, to save their father, she becomes trapped in the dangerous world of mafia leader Dante, who believes she is Aria. As Dante prepares to make her life a living hell, will Nora find a way to survive the torment meant for someone else? 1. The Devil's Claim

Most people wake up from nightmares. She woke up into one.

Nora gasped as her eyes jolted open. She forced her face away from the harsh light. Panic struck her as she realized that she couldn't push herself up.

Cold chains nailed her down. No matter how hard she pulled, they refused to budge. She had to stop once the metal began to dig into her skin.

The intense stench of blood and rot pierced her nose as she slowly came into her senses. She felt her throat tightening. Her clothes still bore that elegance it once held. Only that now it was beneath layers of dirt and something else she didn't want to name. It felt like the sad, distant reminder of a long gone life.

Her vision slowly adjusted to the haunting surroundings. Dark, stained walls closing in like silent witnesses. Nora stared at the blood splattered floors. She pressed her lips together to fight the nausea. She could only imagine the kind of horrors unfolded there, just like the ones awaiting her.

One by one, memories began resurfacing. Mismatched, like pieces of a puzzle. Gunfire cracking through the air. Her driver's scream. A rough hand emerging out of nowhere, mercilessly clasping over her mouth. Slipping under the mist of the sickly sweet chloroform. Then, nothing.

Except..

"Remember, you're Aria. Not Nora, the crying, whiny piece of shit."

Her sister’s voice. Painted in venom. Echoing inside her skull.

"Act like it, or you know what will happen. You won't have a father anymore."

The picture of her father, comatose and vulnerable, came to her mind. The only family she had left. The mere thought of him getting harmed made her weak all over.

If only he knew what was happening to her now, how far his daughter had fallen...

She was pulled back to the present by a creak coming from beyond the rusty metal door. Nora straightened up as waves of muffled voices swept through, low and urgent.

Just as she sensed the presence of something sinister getting closer, the door swung open. A tall silhouette stood in the doorway.

Nora swiftly recognised it in the air. Overwhelming. Undeniable.

Power.

The steady scraping of boots against the cement floor. Like their owner wasn’t in any hurry at all. An intoxicating scent wrapped around Nora. A mixture of leather, smoke and something expensive.

Then she saw him.

Devastating. That was the only way to describe him.

But there was more. So much more. He looked as if he came with a warning label and his appearance surely did the work.

Carved like a sculpture, his features were ruthlessly precise. Cheekbones that could cut like a blade. A jaw sculpted for sin. Lips designed to ruin. His looks themselves screamed unholy. But it was his eyes that pinned her down like a butterfly to a board. Silver storms raged in them. Deadly and cold as a loaded gun. Just as tempting. He didn’t just look at her. He undid her with his gaze. Piece by piece. He owned her. Truly a hunter. She was his prey, and now he was deciding if the chase was worth it.

Nora found it hard to breathe.

Very slowly, a wicked smile started forming in his lips. He leaned in. Too close for comfort.

"Oh, dear." A dangerous whisper against her ear. Dark amusement in his words. "I bet you have no clue... just how long I've waited for this."

Sweat started trickling down Nora's back. The cold air in the basement didn't offer much of a help.

Because, God help her, she truly didn't.
