Although I have earned a name for myself, nobody has come looking for my trouble. My friendship with Christy was improving and I might say we are heading over to the BFF barge, yeah, that’s if my parents don't return one day and announce that we are moving. I have had three BFF’s and three of them are no longer in contact with me because I moved so far away from them and I can’t even tell when next we would be seeing each other again.
I packed my books and walked to the cafeteria. I should head to my locker and drop my books but Christy is already waiting for me and I don’t want to delay her further. Stepping into the noisy cafeteria, I sighed and searched for her. I saw her waving at me, urging me to come to her which I did. “I was beginning to wonder if you have lost your way,” she said immediately I approached her.
“I’m sorry, I can’t possibly tell what delayed me and I’m starving,” I placed my books on the table and said to her, “I will be right back,” I scurried off to fill my plate.
Returning to the table with my tray, I sat down and began eating, “my, you are really hungry,” I heard Christy say.
“You have no idea.”
“Anyway, guess what?”
“What?” I asked with a mouthful.
“Josh is throwing a party tonight and guess who is coming? Adrian!” She whispered his name in a fawning manner.
“Okay, you literally asked a question and you answered it yourself,” I reminded her.
“I can’t help it, I just love saying his name,” she continued in that same voice.
I rolled my eyes at her stupidity, I mean, what is so special about the guy? “First of all, who is Josh?”
“Really, did you just ask that question?”
“I think I did.”
“Girl, this is your fifth day in this school, where have you been?”
“Are you answering the question or what?”
“Fine, he is the captain of the football team and he is friends with Adrian and Kevin.”
“Who is Kevin?”
“Are you joking or are you serious?” She raised her eyebrow at me.
I chuckled, “fine fine, I know him.”
“Good, so after school, are you coming to my house or are we going to yours?”
“What for?”
“To prepare for the party of course.”
“I’m not going.”
“Why not?”
“First of all, I have a little brother and he is just thirteen, I can’t afford to leave him home alone and second of all, my parents are not going to be happy if they found out I did that, third, I don’t think I want to go to a party with Adrian.”
“Don’t think I need to introduce myself anymore then,” a voice said above us and we looked up to see him. Talk about the devil. He drew a chair and sat down, “hi.”
“Oh my God, Adrian is sitting at our table, do you know what that means?” Christy shrieked.
“That we need to kick him out?” I filled in.
A low chuckle rang beside me and just for once, I will admit it was beautiful, now don’t expect me to ever say that again. I turned to him and he was looking at me, his ocean eyes as bright as the sea, and it wasn’t helping with the sunlight seeping into the cafeteria, “may I ask how you are going to do that?”
“With my leg of course,” I answered, just then, I noticed how everywhere had turned quiet and how all eyes were on me.
Adrian bent over and I wanted to ask what he was doing when he sat up and smiled, “I’m afraid your legs are too small to do that.” Unbelievable, this guy actually bent down to look at my legs? Is he for real?
“Don’t worry, you will be surprised at how strong it is, don’t let the look deceive you.”
He chuckled once more, revealing pearly white teeth, “I like your enthusiasm.”
“It’s not a matter of enthusiasm but how strong it really is. Now, enough chitchats, why are you here?” I gave him my full attention, waiting for his answer.
“Molly, we really need to go," Christy said and I looked at her.
“Why do we need to go?” I frowned.
“Have you forgotten what I told you?” She was looking at a table behind her and I followed her gaze to see Stacy staring at us with a mischievous smile on her lips. Then I remembered.
“Please don’t go,” Adrian said.
I looked at him, “go where? The only person going is you.”
He smiled, “I like that, well, rest assured I’m not going anywhere.”
“Molly,” Christy called again and I glared at her.
“Calm down Chris, he is the one to leave our table for us.”
“But I don’t want to drink toilet water.”
“And who said you would be?” I asked her.
“You know what? Let’s talk after school, okay?” She stood up, picked her bag and walked out of the cafeteria.
“Coward,” I yelled after her.
“Thank you,” she yelled back.
I looked at the guy who is now alone with me, “first of all, let me start by saying that I hate you,” his eyes widened in shock, “and second, you just made it worse by driving my friend away, so which means I hate-hate you.”
“Wow, that’s literally the first time I have heard a girl say to my face that she hates me,” he shook his head in surprise.
“And you will be receiving more firsts if you don’t get out of my table,” I warned.
“My friends are right,” he chuckled, “you really have a vicious tongue.”
“I haven’t even used it on you, but it's good you noticed. Now, what do you want from me?”
“Simple, I want to be your genie.”
The weekend passed with me joggling myself with unpacking my boxes and doing my homework, not that I was able to finish unpacking my boxes but that’s okay, I will see to it later this weekend or any day I have nothing to do after school. Hopefully, I will finish them before mom and dad return, they won’t be happy with me if I haven’t done that by the time they are back.I put on a jacket and let my hair down from the ponytail I had on since last night. I ran my brush on it briefly and picked up my backpack and left the room. “Max, you ready?” I yelled, making my way to his room. I pushed open the door without bothering to knock and I regretted it immediately. I turn to the door, backing him, “what the hell! Learn how to use a towel.”“Learn how to knock, this is my room,” he replied.Well he is right, “are you decent?” I asked after a while.“For today, what’s the guarantee that you won’t do it again?”“I won’t, today will be the last day,” I turned to him and he already has his pants
And heaven just decided to punish me, “I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” he continued and I turned around. Mark my word, the biggest mistake I made was turning around to look at Adrian Sanders. His shiny white hair was covering half of his face, he was putting on a black leather jacket on top black pullover, a black jeans with a white converse, his black attire made his hair stand out as well as his eyes. I didn’t realize I was checking him out until he made a comment.“Like what you see, Pigeon?” He raised an eyebrow, a slow and sexy smile playing on the corners of his lips.I tried to ignore how handsome he looked, nuh uh, I mean how ugly he looked, “first of all, stop calling me pigeon, that’s not my name.”“But it suits you perfectly.”“And why is that?”“Because you are acting as free as a bird, you say what you want to say and you do what you want to do. I didn’t want to be calling you a bird so I chose the nicest amongst the species,” he clarified.“Unbelievable,” I shook m
“Molly, there is a girl here for you!” I heard Max screaming in my sleep and I opened my eyes. I yawned and sat up on the bed, picking up my phone that had fallen on the bed when I dozed off. I checked the time and it was six thirty. Who could be looking for me by this time?I climbed out of the bed, input my password on the phone and minimized the game before walking out of my room, “who is it Max?” I asked from the staircase.“Said her name is Christy and she is your BFF,” he yelled back.I frowned, what is Christy doing here? I’m not surprised she knows where I live since she has dropped me off twice, I just don’t know why she would come without calling me. I hurried down the stairs and saw her standing in the living room, she was dressed to kill in a mini skirt and tight black crop top. Her voluminous curls were styled in half bun, with little curls dropping on her face, she looked…what’s the word? Sexy.“Hey girl, what the hell, you are not dressed?” She screamed.I frowned, “dre
On getting home, I slammed the door after me, “Max, I’m home,” I yelled, making my way to the kitchen. I opened the kitchen and got out a bottle of orange juice, opening it, I drank from it, “Max?” I called again when I didn’t see him.I put back the cap on the bottle and returned the drink to the fridge, if my mother was around, she would have shouted at me for lacking in personal hygiene, bah, who cares. They are not around and no one else is going to finish the drink but me. “Max, get down here this minute!”“What the hell do you want?” He yelled back from the stairs and I left the kitchen to see him, he was frowning, he hates it when I shout his name and I on the other hand, loves doing what I was told not to do, I just can’t help it.“Just checking if you are home,” I replied, acting like I did the most natural thing.“You are a weirdo,” he rolled his eyes at me and turned to go back to his room.“But you still love me,” I yelled after him.“No I don’t”“Yes you do, yes you do,”
I stared at him first in shock, then I laughed, really? Did he just say that? “My genie?”“Did I say something funny?” Adrian asked and that just made me laugh more.“So, let me ask, do you often walk up to a girl and offer to be her genie?” I asked.“Actually, no. You are the first,” he answered.“Then may I ask, what gave you such an idea that I need a genie?”“I have heard a lot about you and I said to myself, this girl needs a genie to help her in her daily activities.”“And what help will you be giving to me?”“I will be granting your wishes,” he answered simply.“Is that so, what is in it for you?”“Genies don’t have requests.”“I doubt that, I can remember Aladdin’s genie wanted to be free,” I smiled. He leaned closer to me, our faces only a meter apart, “rest assured, I will never wish to be free from you, rather, I will like to get closer to you,” his ocean eyes twinkled, making his face more radiant. Damn this guy is handsome, nuh uh, scratch that, I mean damn, this guy is u
