CHAPTER ONE _interview

"YOU ARE FIRED "

he yelled

"I'm sorry boss it won't happen ag..."

Shaun was saying but was cut short by the coffee mug that came flying over his head shattered behind him.

"you know I don't repeat myself, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE!" he screamed,

This time with a domineering aura that made Shaun shiver

quickly he gathered the scattered files and scrambled out of the office .

Ethan let out a low hiss and a deep breath calming his rising anger

He picked up his phone calling his best friend Oliver who was the HR director of his company

"ring..ring."

"ring ring"...

"big man" Oliver's voice came in from the other end.

"arrange an interview I want a new secretary by tomorrow" he said unto the speaker and ended the call immediately

Ethan Blackwood is a 29 year old business tycoon who runs the BLACKWOOD HOLDINGS.

As the only heir of the Blackwood family who was was willing to run the family business,he was made CEO at the age of 19,

succeeding from his grandfather father LEONARD BLACKWOOD when his birth father passed away

at the age of 23 he was able to acquire three different estates under his name.

money was no problem for Ethan,he could have everything he wanted within the snap of his fingers

Women flock around him like moths drawn to a flame,

His features are like that of a demigod,this made him one of the hottest bachelor in the whole of New York

his sharp jawline, and blue eyes that complements his black hair

Ethan Blackwood was the man In every woman's dream.

"MUMMY" Eva screamed as her mother walked towards the living area,

leaving her Teddy and running towards her mother "come here ,my princess" Elena said as Eva clasped into her arms.

"I've missed you mummy"she said "where did you go " she pouted ,Elena heave a sigh as she walked towards a chair with her baby in her arms.

Elena Hayes is a 24 year old accountant who relocated to the city of New York with her three year daughter and mother Celine Hayes,after the death of her father

"where is grandma"

she asked ,"grandma is coo..."Eva proceeds to say before Celine voice cuts in the conversation "Elena ?"

Celine called "mother " Elena replied

"when did u come in dear?..I just made dinner ,go freshen up so we can eat together "Celine said

"okay mum"

Elena placed Eva on the sofa "hold tight hun, momma's coming " she cooed

dinner passed without a single word from her mother about the interview,she knew she was trying but she isn't trying enough

Eva will begin schooling the next year and yet she still don't have enough saving ,talk more of enough to last them three extra month

She sigh as she made her way to her laptop table ,she occupies a two bedroom apartment which was the best they could afford since moving to New York wasn't a joke

she proceeded to check her email which was her normal routine since she moved to New York and started job hunting

refreshing her email,the first message she saw made her breath cut in her throat

"DEAR ELENA HAYES WE ARE IMPRESSED WITH YOU PROFILE AND WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU FOR AN INT"

She couldn't complete her sentence before she burst out in a scream

she was invited for an interview at 'BLACKWOOD HOLDINGS'

"oh my God "

"oh my God "

"mum"

she screamed

which made her mother hurriedly come to her room

"Elena?"

"mum ,I got selected for an interview she whined"

screaming excitedly

"oh my God " Celine said with tears in her eyes ,she went close to her daughter giving her a heartwarming hug

it has been long she saw Elena so happy,after being pregnant with Eva

"Elena that's a good start,I know what uve been through in the name of job hunting,my dear"

she patted her daughter's head and they made their way to bed ,

"I'm so excited mum"

"I know my dear" Celine replied

"now dear, go to sleep"she said as she proceeds to tuck her daughter in bed,

"mum"

Elena help her hand

" I'm not a kid" she said laughing

"but you are still my baby "

The next morning came too quickly for Elena's liking .

the rays of the sun casting her room made her grumbled as she slowly got up from her bed

"oh my God"

She gasped as today's event flood her mind.

her interview,she thought

obviously she was late but she still scurried into the bathroom to do her morning business hurriedly hoping to catch the bus..

choosing what to wear was another dilemma ,as she scattered through her wardrobe

"fuck ..I should have done this last night"

she picked up a blue cooperate fitted gown

and moved towards the mirror placing the dress over her body to admire the dress on her.but she thought against the dress as not to draw attention to her body

Despite being a. mother , Elena's curvy body was something to write home about,

her Her figure was unapologetically voluptuous.

She had a full bust, a tiny waist and wide, rounded hips that gave her an unmistakable hourglass silhouette

she settled for a black plain pencil skirt,a white tank top and a black blazer and black heels

She didn't know who the interviewer or the boss would be so she wanted to keep it simple

she hurriedly went downstairs to meet her mum and daughter having breakfast on the dinning

she took of her heels wanting to tiptoe out of the house,she wasn't in for her little girl's drama,

it was too early

"Elena,you are going out already?"

her mum called out

Elena let out a sigh as she went towards her mum, giving her a hug ,and proceeded to kiss her daughter, squatting beside her

"Mummy" Eva whined

"I want you to feed me"

"Arrgh" she grumbled

"I promise darling,when I get back,I promise I will feed you okay, mummy's late for an interview"

"what is inervu mummy"

Eva asked with her with her inability to pronounce the word correctly

Elena sigh "not today Eva,I'm in a hurry"

she said as she stood up hurriedly putting on her shoes and headed for the bus station .

Taking a cab will put a hole in her pocket,and she wasn't ready to spend too much for a job she was not sure she is going to get

She headed a bus going to midtown Manhattan which was a forty minutes drive away from her

With shivering body and sweaty hands Elena prayed for herself,

She needed the job,her family is depending on her

The bus ride was faster than she thought it will be

She made her way hurriedly to the blackwood company ,using the goggle map

she have never been to that side of the city, it was a place for the rich ,

and not for people like her

Blackwood Holdings stood tall in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, its towering glass façade reflecting the golden rays of the morning sun.

Elena was amazed by it's beauty,she couldn't admire it for long ,as she have an interview to attend

she hurried inside the building,

she saw workers walking or perhaps running around,they seem to be busy

'who was she kidding it's a company ' they were not supposed to be having a tea party with mini cups and cookies

She chuckled at the thought.

Elena made her way to the receptionist,

a surprisingly young girl with blonde hair,who was all smiles

"'Hi I'm here for an interv..."

before she couldn't complete her sentence,the gurl cut in

"yes ,make use of the elevator, go to sixth floor,the first room by the left , kindly wait there "

she said with a polite smile

Elena was grateful for her day,at least she hasn't run into any grumpy person so far ,which is a good omen

She made her way to the room on the sixth floor,and to her surprise saw four other candidates

she gulped , she made her way towards one of the empty seats,,

sending a polite smile to the ones who glanced her way .

Ethan walked into his company building with oliver strolling behind him,

workers slightly bow their heads,no one dated to look into his eyes,

No one wants to get lose their job or get their CV sealed

"Oliver "

He called, stopping in front of his office which made Oliver pause

"get me the candidates I'll interview them my self"

he said to Oliver.

Oliver chuckled "Ethan chill"

Let me do my job.

"I didn't stutter when I want to interview them by myself,don't let me find a replacement for you too,I'm in no mood for jokes"

Oliver burst out in a loud laugh

"really dude?" he asked catching his breath

"okay fine,I'll let you,who am I to disrespect the boss actually"

He said sarcastically, strolling to the candidates room as he chuckled

Ethan was sitting on his office hair working on his laptop.

A knock came on the door.

"Come in"

he said , immediately a blonde young girl walked into his office,

wearing a shirt red skirt and a white button down top which was unbuttoned at the first three button, revealing her cleavage

Ethan was taking aback,at the sight of her

He closed his eyes to put himself in check

"come have a seat" he said to the her.

Then she cat walked seductively towards Ethan,not the seat he had offered her

she reached out for his tie,and at the moment he flung her hand away,

"GET THE HELL OF MY OFFICE " He yelled

which made her jolt in fright .

but she was bent on achieving her aim.

"I can pleasure you"

she said proceeding to hold him,but the next action of Ethan send her landing on the floor as she lost her balance

"HOW DARE YOU?"

"WHO SENT YOU"

we're the question rained at her, thinking it was one of his grandfather's trick to get him to lay with a woman.

"NOW GET THE HELL OUT OF MY OFFICE THIS MINUTE"

Immediately picked her files from the floor and ran

out of his office like a puppet

Ethan let out a shaky breath,if this was his grandfather's ploy ,then he was going to call him to other

Ethan picked up his phone, putting a call across to Oliver,his HR

"I know you will need my bro".

Ethan heave a tired sigh and said

"handle the rest of the interview,and ask them to resume tomorrow"

"don't u think you are forgetting something Mr.CEO " Oliver teased

"what could that be Oliver?"

"perhaps say please man,I ain't your slave you know,you know I'm not getting paid " Oliver whined

Ethan immediately got irritated with the call and ended it , rubbing his temples
