Kemari gave a huge smile knowing that he is all they know. The two girls ran towards him hugging his legs. Kenji stood up and shook hands with Kimmie’s husband, Marshall. “I heard a lot about you. Kimmie absolutely adores you. If you had a fan club, I am a million percent sure she would be the president and vice president.”

“Ah, well we did spend a lot of time together. We’re just a few years apart.”

“Really? She likes to joke and tell me that she is still twenty-seven. She’s been that age for at least five years.”

Kenji could only laugh, Kimie wasn’t nearby so he leaned n and whispered her true age, “She is thirty-four. But don’t tell her I told you.”

“I won’t. I’ll just say I glimpsed her birth certificate or something. Good looking out. Kemari would just play dumb.”

“He’s good at the naïve persona. So what do you do?”

“I work at Kari-hope. I’m one of their engineers. Our CEO passed away last week and it’s been tough going.”
