She gulped hard. Her eyes trained on his clenched jaw and icy stare.

"I... Hmm, you see..." She suddenly stopped and thought of what next to say. She was just going to her ex husband that she was not interested in a man. She let out a deep breath.

"It is not what you are thinking it to be." She said.

"Apparently, Macaulay is not thinking like you." He cut in and she almost rolled her eyes.

"Why are you so worried to know about my relationship with another man?" The question threw him off guard that his mask faltered a bit but he knew he had to stay on the track.

"Aspen, don't drive this in another way. You clearly stated that this was a boss to secretary relationship. I am your boss and I need to know who to fire or maybe the both of you will do." He said for an heart beat and she faced him with dread visible in her orbs. When he saw it, a smile tugged at his lips and he relaxed further into his seat.
