The door creaked open and she looked up instantly. Her stomach churned as she saw the file in the doctor's hand.

"Doctor!" She called out in anticipation as she pursed her lips. The female doctor, Miss Harriet, smiled as she handed the report over to her. She collected it with quick speed and skimmed over the pages.

"What does this mean?" She asked, not taking her eyes off the file.

"You are pregnant, Mrs. Aspen." Miss Harriet announced with a bright smile and Aspen's heart skipped a beat.

What did she just hear now? That she is pregnant for Floyd?

Really?

After freaking two years of marriage. she has finally been able to birth a child. Floyd will be so happy to hear this. He has also being expecting it.

A grin spread across her face and her baby blue eyes widened in happiness as she held the file close to her chest.

"Really?" She practically squealed and the doctor nodded, feeling the joyous emotions seeping from the other lady.

"In fact, you are two months pregnant." She added and Aspen rushed forward to hug her in an instance. The older lady who was not expecting it, gasped and jerked back in shock. She hugged her firmly as she whispered words of appreciation silently.

"You... You... You are crushing me." Miss Harriet croaked out and Aspen released her immediately.

"Oh, sorry. Just that I am really happy. I can't wait to break the news to Floyd. I am very sure he will be as shocked as I was." She rushed the words in pure excitement and a smile formed on the doctor's lips.

"I can see. You may take your leave and also please don't exert stress on yourself." She advised.

"Thank you, doctor." She said with a bright smile and rose up from the chair before leaving.

"Park. Park. Park." She ordered the driver as she climbed down from the car and ran hurriedly towards the entrance of the house. Before she could go further, a hand stopped her and pushed her back roughly.

Aspen's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she saw her mother-in-law, Loretta, who had her arms akimbo and her right brow arched in question.

"Mother." Aspen said inaudibly, biting her left cheek to contain her nervousness.

"What?!" She snapped and Aspen jerked back in fear.

"I.." She trailed off.

"You are not allowed to move further into this house." Loretta said and Aspen gasped in shock.

Wasn't it this house she left this morning for the check up? When did her mother in law come back and start making the rules?

Knowing fully well that the relationship between her mother-in-law and she was nothing to write home about. She managed to pull up a light smile.

"Mother, I know you are not happy with me being Floyd's wife but I am trying my best. I promise you that. And also I have very important news for him to know. Please excuse me." She said with heated urgency as she curved the woman and ran up the stairs.

Her legs quickened their pace as she walked to their matrimonial room.

But suddenly she stopped as she reached the door... Moans. Grunts. She heard these sexual sounds coming from their room. Her brows creased in confusion and her eyes dilated in shock.

Was it from their room or was it her imagination?

She gulped hard and twisted the doorknob, silently praying that it was not what she was thinking.

But then, it felt like she was being bathed in cold water as she stared at her husband, Floyd, kissing and dry humping another lady on their matrimonial bed.

Matrimonial freaking bed.

Tears glistened in her eyes and she did nothing to rub them off.

"F-Floyd." She choked out and Floyd immediately jumped up from the lady he was touching. He looked at her with what looks like guilt but he was quick to change it to that of anger.

"What are you doing in here?" He asked as his nose began to twitch in pure fury.

"I..." The words are caught up in her throat as a lump built there. She darted her gaze to the lady and brows creased together. This lady... She knew her. She is the famous president's daughter, Nicole Lockhart. She... She was lying on the bed with her husband?! What was she doing here?!

She flicked her gaze back to Floyd with a bitter look, silently asking him what he was doing.

Why would he do something like this?

"How... How could you do this to me? How could you cheat on me when I have done nothing but remain faithful to you?! Floyd, I just left this house this morning and here you are... You are even touching her on our matrimonial bed. Matrimonial bed for goodness' sake! Floyd!" She forced out with a broken voice as her chest heaved in pain and tears rolled down here at the betrayal from her husband.

His hands twitched as it itched to comfort her but instead he scoffed and adjusted the tie in his neck before he went towards the drawer and retrieved an envelope then he pulled out some pictures. He moved towards her with his face scrunched in anger.

"What is this?! See pot calling kettle black." He seethed as he shove it to her chest. She jerked back a little and took the picture.

"You–" He pointed to her as he gritted out. "You were the one who had the guts to cheat first. You know, I used to love you and fight for you even when my mother says a lot of things about you which turned out to be true. But I never knew you were a slut! A slut who did not deserve the love and care she received from me!" He shouted and shudders ran through her spine, making her shake involuntarily. She went through the picture and blood drained from her face as she took in the image there.

What the actual heck?!

"Floyd... This person is not me." She said with a broken voice as she shook her head vigorously, refusing to believe it.

Nicole that was still lying on the bed uttered a snort and rose. She pulled Floyd by the arms and began to rub circles on his chest.

"Floyd, these pictures are not true. They are lies. Please, believe me. I will never cheat on you." She begged as she stretched her hands out to reach him. He jerked his hands away and faced the lady close to him. His heart broke at the way tears roll out of her eyes but instead he clenched his jaw and looked anywhere but her.

"It's too late for your unwarranted explanation. You have been caught in the act. You don't need to pretend anymore. And besides, I already found someone who I love." He said as he feigned a smile and took the lady by her face, he planted soft kisses on them and the lady's smile widened.

Aspen clenched her fist as she looks at what was going on before her.

"Floyd, you can't love someone else. Remember, I am your only love... I–"

Oh how he wish she knew why he was doing this.

"And that is where you are mistaken. My love for you already died the moment I saw these pictures! You know what! I want a divorce. No, we are getting a divorce." He bellowed and she gasped in shock.

He knew that this love of theirs is forbidden. He just want her to leave. He loved her too much to let her be disgraced. And he was willing to bear the consequences. Even if it was losing her.

"D-Divorce... F-Floyd, p-please... Don't... You know... I am..." She gulped hard.

"I am carrying your child." She announced finally and his eyes widened in shock but then quickly change to that of disgust.

"My child?" He wondered in irritation. At that moment, his mother stepped in and snickers at Aspen.

"Floyd, what is this whore still doing here? I thought you would have sent her packing already." Loretta asked and Aspen looked at her, not surprised that it is coming from her.

Floyd looked at his mother. "She said she is carrying my child." He told her and Loretta bursts out laughing.

"Child?! I thought she was barren. Oh, now she wants to look for ways to have you within her finger?" She mused in mockery.

"Mom, see... I can really give you a child. See." She rushed over to her to show her but Nicole snatched it from her and tore it. She snickered at her.

"Don't give yourself false hope. You are barren. That is who you are, you cunning whore." She sneered at her, returning back to stand with Floyd whose muscle ticked.

"You must be out of your mind to think I will allow you to carry my grandchild, you barren whore!" She snarled at Aspen.

"But.."

Loretta raised her hand, shunning her.

"You. Are. Aborting. That. Thing. You. Call. A. Child. That is even if it is a child." Loretta spelt out for her and she gasped in shock and panic. She held onto her stomach protectively as the fear of losing her first offspring washed over her in huge amounts.

"No... No... I can't.." She shook her head vigorously as she tried to fight the imagery that was forming in her head. She can't lose her child. The only symbol of love between Floyd and her. She definitely can't.

"Then you won't be getting any penny even after the divorce. Think twice." Loretta cut her off, knowing fully Aspen's background.

Nicole that was standing close to Floyd and still rubbing seductive circles on his chest snorted "Mother, you don't need to keep talking to a whore like her. You should drag her to the hospital since that is what they do to shameless people who keep opening their legs to men. All because of money that she did not grow with. She is nothing but a low-life lady and mother, what do you think they do for a living? They are nothing but gold diggers. Always wants to reap where they did not sow." She said in disgust and Aspen closed her eyes as she thought of her background. Loretta smirked at what she said, agreeing as she nodded her head.

Nicole was right. She was just an average lady who met Floyd in a coffee shop and that was how their love story began. But now...

Aspen flicked her gaze to each and everyone that is here. The way they stood against her and her marriage. She thought she could pull through this mother-in-law hate relationship. Guess she was all wrong then.

Her helplessness to protect her baby made tears roll out in full.

Out of desperation, she exhales deeply and sniffs. "I accept the divorce." She muttered as she closed her eyes, preventing more tears from slipping through and the lawyer comes in.

When did he come? She thought as she took note of his appearance. Maybe he was downstairs while she was in a hurry to meet Floyd. Or maybe this was planned already and she was just coming to know.

He opened the file and handed it over to her as she collected the pen. With shaking hands, she signed and looked up at the top of the file.

This marked the end of her not up to two years marriage.

Floyd also collected the file and put his signature. His eyes briefly glancing at the place Aspen signed and something that looks like pain flashed through his eyes but he shook his head and handed it back to the lawyer.

"I want to witness you aborting that bastard," Loretta said and Aspen followed her like she was lifeless and possessed.

Well, she was. Losing the only thing that brought her happiness on the same day she found out about it is worth losing herself.

Floyd managed to glance up at her retreating back and wish he could take his words but he know too well it is too late.

Nothing can be done. He lost her already.

"I'm going with you, mother." Floyd said.

"And me too." Nicole chirped in as she gripped Floyd by his arms.
