After the wedding, Stella went to the Conrad mansion. That night as she got there, she was welcomed by the maids in the house and taken to her room. However, no one talked about Clarence Conrad to her so she wondered where he could be.
After taking her bath and changing into something else, one of the maid came upstairs to her room to call her. “Miss, the food is ready. Kindly come down to eat.”
“Okay..” Stella replied back as the maid left. Now that she was already married to Clarence , she would just do her duty as his wife and ensure no conflict comes between them. She heaved a sign of relief as she walked downstairs.
As soon as she got down, she met a man in a wheelchair with his back to her and he spoke up immediately.
“Now that she’s freshen up, sent her to my room. I need to inspect her.”
Inspect me….Stella was shocked.
There were frowns on her face as she allowed what the strange man said to sink inside her. Yes, she knew Clarence Conrad was said to be crippled but she didn’t know him or how he look. How could she be sure it was him.
Fear grabbed her, however the man in the wheelchair gave her signs to go back upstairs while the maids bowed their head and pretended like they saw nothing.
Stella walked up upstairs, and her body tensed up. She got into the room and climbed the bed, after that she took the duvet and covered her body. At that moment, she just wanted to hide.
She was not ready for this in the first place and now that she had gotten married to him, what other choice did she have.
As she heard the soft squeak of the wheelchair moving across the floor which was getting closer to the door, she was guilt-tripped. She held the duvet nervously. Finally the man came in, while the person who accompanied him shut the door and left.
The man took the duvet from her body and his giant right hand gently brushed against her delicate white skin, stroking it. His hand was like his personality- cold and rough.
Stella shivered and allowed the tears to slide down her eyes. She could not scream because she knew it was of no use. As she shivered in fear, the man suddenly stopped touching her and she heard him chuckle and said, “what? Are you scared?”
Stella didn’t bother to answer. She wiped the tears Instead. Again, the man start caressing her. His right hand left her waist and moved to her thighs, afterward to her bosoms.
Stella could no longer stand it, she clutched the duvet, trying her best to ignore the desire to push him and move away.
The man didn’t care either. As if he was enjoying it, he ran his fingers along her stomach and back to her waist without stopping, as he roughly caressed it.
“Please stop.” Stella wept and finally spoke up. The man pretended that he did not hear what she was saying and continued with what he was doing.
When he was about to reach her private part, Stella could no longer tolerate it so she grabbed his right hand. She didn’t know this was what she was about to go through in this marriage, she wouldn’t have agreed in the first place but with all the betrayals, it left her with no other choice. At the end of the day, this was the huge sacrifice she had to make for the sake of her father and his bankruptcy company.
Her ex-husband Shawn had tried to rape her before, so fearing she was about to past the same fate here, her body shuddered even more and she stammered, “Please stop, I can’t bear it any more young master Conrad …”
As she said this, her body shook in fear. She was trembling as she grabbed his hand.
“And why should I stop huh? Stop pretending to be so pure and putting on an act. So tell me, are you still a virgin or not?” As he said, he chucked in mockery of her.
First of all, she didn’t know if he was Clarence Conrad or not, and secondly what kind of question was he asking her. Stella didn’t know how to answer his question.
Seeing that she was hesitating to reply, he withdrew his hand from hers as he burst out laughing. “So the Radomil family thinks they can fool me right. Tell me are you Stella or Jenna?”
At that moment, Stella trembled immediately. That night after calling Estella and telling her she was ready to marry Clarence, Estella had warned her not to disclose that she was not Jenna and should pretended to be her because Jenna was supposed to marry him and not her, and if the Conrad’ family found out that they had been deceived, they could back out of the marriage. So Stella pretended to be Jenna . However she didn’t expect this man to be so smart as to catch their lies and deceit immediately.
Was he really Clarence Conrad , her supposed husband?
She thought of what to say as her eyes met his cold eyes.
The man had razor-sharp eyebrows, a high nose bridge beneath his wolf-like eyes, and thin lips curved into a snarl. He was difficult to approach because, although being seated in a wheelchair, he exuded an angry and menacing atmosphere.‘ This is the supposedly repulsive man’ Stella was in full shock, and she didn't sit up on the bed until the atmosphere grew tight and she avoided looking into his eyes. Then her voice became guilty. "I'm Jenna Radomil of course ...""Really?" Clarence took an envelope out of his pocket and flung it at her, his eyes growing icier. When she carefully opened it and lifted it up, she saw that it was filled with pictures and details about her sister Jenna Radomil.‘So, he has been aware of my true identity from the start?’ Stella bit her lower lip and tightened her hold on the envelope. She cast a calm glance at Clarence with her dark, opaque, glossy eyes."Did the Radomil family think they could fool me just because I'm a cripple?"With her eyes downca
Stella spent the entire night by herself in the deserted room. Clarence appeared to have agreed to her idea, which called for them to live apart from one other yet act as husband and wife on paper. After getting ready, Stella went downstairs to discover a number of maids hard at work. A broom abruptly materialized beneath her feet as she prepared to ask them where the kitchen was.Stella lost her footing, stumbled, and toppled forward violently. "Ah!" She was going to fall, but someone grabbed her just in time with strong hands.Stella , still reeling from her fall, glanced up to see a pair of soft eyes. "Are you alright, my dear sister-in-law?""Sister-in-law?""My name is Jude Conrad, Clarence’s brother.” He uttered in a quiet voice.Stella heard a chilly voice say before she could respond , "It seems like I've arrived at the wrong time.” "This voice." When Stella turned to face the source of the voice, she saw Joseph moving Clarence while he was seated in a wheelchair with
Clarence did not finish his sentence, but Stella saw that he was putting her in danger. She was furious because she had recently resigned her job due to him and now she was stuck with him everywhere. They had first decided not to become involved in one another's life, but now they were compelled to stay together. It wasn't as though she desired it to occur. They made their way silently to the door. Clarence’s wheelchair was loaded into the trunk of his own vehicle. Stella leaned forward to get into the car out of habit, but Joseph stopped her with a hand. "Ms. Jenna, this is Young Master Conrad private vehicle."Stella was surprised. "What do you mean?"Clarence turned to face her, a mocking gleam in his deep, serene eyes. "You're still not qualified to be my assistant."Stella questioned as her expression changed upon hearing that, "Then why did you agree to your grandfather's request just now?"Clarence shook his head, ignoring her.Stella reached out to stop Joseph before he
Clarence and Stella walked into the conference room together, and when the people in the room saw her behind him, everyone in the room gasped in shock. Everyone was aware that Joseph had been Clarence’s lone servant for all these years. Now that a woman was unexpectedly showing up by his side, everyone began to speculate about the nature of their relationship. Although Stella had worked as an assistant before, she had never been present at such a formal event. The meeting room at Conrad Group was enormous. Conrad Group was, after all, North City's top leading group. Stella could feel the tension in the room the moment she walked in. Entering behind Joseph and Clarence, Stella felt the pressure of everyone's stares and instinctively stiffened her shoulders. Upon eventually taking their seats, all eyes were on Stella. "President Conrad , is she..." As vice president of Conrad Group,Jude would unavoidably be attending the meeting as well. He was taken aback to see Stella a
Stella was so fatigued that the room spun as she walked and was on the verge of giving up, not knowing how many cups of coffee she had prepared. Clarence had left as she carried the coffee into the meeting room. Had he not mentioned if she had passed his test and instead made a complete exit? After setting the coffee on the table, Stella turned around and went in search of Clarence. She observed his vehicle pulling out of the Conrad Group parking garage as she reached the ground floor of the office building. And she was left behind once more. Stella gave herself a mocking laugh. That's what she should have expected. A silver-white automobile pulled up in front of her as she was walking down the street with the intention of hailing a cab. The automobile window was down. Jude’s kind and attractive face came into view. "Jenna, let me drive you home." After a long moment of shock, Stella gradually shook her head and gave him a faint grin. "No need." Clarence would suggest Stell
Stella took a number at the hospital and lined up. She described her symptoms to the doctor when it was her time. The physician gave her a peculiar look. "Have you been sleepy lately?" She gave a nod. "Did you feel nauseous when you're brushing your teeth in the morning?"Stella gave another nod. "And do you occasionally have the urgency to urinate?" Stella was a little confused by this question. She paused to consider, then nodded once more. "Does this have anything to do with my illness?" With a helpless expression on her face, the doctor asked again, "How long has it been since your menstrual period?" When Stella heard that, she calculated, "A little over a month..." She didn't realize what the doctor was getting at until she said those words. Her expression gradually softened to one of comprehension. The physician grinned. "I take it you've engaged in sexual activity lately? You need to focus more on your physical well-being. I refuse to write a prescription for you. To b
Stella remained quiet for a while. She was staring at the maid. The maid had obviously knocked into her on purpose. She remained silent. Rather, she stood for a while before choosing to move on when a few of other maids came over. "Do you honestly believe that you become a noble lady only by marrying into the Conrad family? You are basically less important than a maid because Mr. Conrad dislikes you." “Indeed, have a look at her. I've heard that she passed out last night in the corridor outside of Mr. Conrad’s room. It seems like he drove her away. If I were her, I wouldn't stay here any longer to act foolish; instead, I would hastily pack up and head home." “Is she aware that she's doing foolishly? To them, money is the only thing." Stella could hear them chatting about her when they got far enough away. Her complexion went horribly pale. Giving herself an embrace, she eased her way down the wall toward the door. Why? Why had she to put up with all of that? Was it because she h
"What are you trying to do?" She tried to get away, but they stopped her right away. "Don't—don't come near me. Please release me!" One of them grabbed her off her feet and flung her over his shoulder as he darted away before she could say anything. The others trailed in close behind. What the people in the waiting room witnessed astounded them. They were unable to ascertain what was happening. ••• "Mr. Conrad, there is finally news from the hospital."Joseph hurried into his office to break the news, not giving the other person in the room a second thought. Clarence was first annoyed by Joseph’s interruption as he was conversing with a very significant customer. But his tense eyebrows dropped when he heard what Joseph had to say. "There's finally news?" Joseph gave Clarence a sidelong glance and then gave a solemn nod. Clarence gave the man in front of him an icy look as he spoke. “I apologize, Mr. Webb, but I must attend to some pressing affairs. I'll make plans for som
