“Do you know where she is?” My mom asked in a hopeful voice.
My shoulders slumped, and I sat back down on the chair as I thought about where she could possibly be. I sighed. “That’s the problem. I don’t. I’ve contacted her a hundred times already, but it seems like she has already blocked my number.”
“Why do you look so defeated? Are you going to give up just because you don’t know where she is?” My mom asked in a stern voice.
I aggressively shook my head. “No—no, mom. That’s now what I’m saying. It’s just that—I don’t know where to start.”
