Megan's POV

"Mrs. Pritzgold, these flowers are for you, Ma'am," the waitress said as she handed me a bouquet of varieties of colorful flowers.

"Thank you, Miss," I said after I received the flowers.

"You are welcome," she replied and excused herself.

We were in the middle of our dinner, and I couldn't believe I got a bouquet from my husband, and my smile widened as I read the tag.

l couldn't help closing my eyes as I inhaled the fresh roses, baby's breath, and pink and white Liliums.

"Thank you, my love, and you never fail to surprise me, Ashton," I said after I opened my eyes and put the bouquet on top of the table.

"You are welcome, my love. I hope you like them," he said with a wide grin.

"I love them," I mumbled as I took his hand.

We ate and talked, and I couldn't deny I was having so much fun with Ashton. Having my husband near me always gives me happy vibes, and I will always feel complete.

"No wonder this place is expensive, the food is delicious, and the presentation was amazing; I will give this restaurant a five-star review," I said to my husband after I ate the last bit of my dessert.

"I should have brought you here before; I thought you didn't like this place because of how many times you refused my offer every time I asked you to eat here," Ashton replied with amusement on his face.

"I was shy because I knew this place was expensive," I responded, and he looked at me.

"Really? You were worried if I couldn't afford to dine here, Meg?" I asked.

"I am aware you can, but I want you to save some of your allowances," I answered, and my husband laughed.

"Thank you for your concern about my allowance, but I could say I enjoyed every time we had a date because I liked you, and do you know what is more amazing?" He asked, and I shook my head as I stared at his handsome face.

"Until now, I still feel the same way, Meg, and it doesn't matter where or when; as long as I am with you, I can tell I am a happy man; you complete me, my love." He said as he squeezed my hand, and my heart was dancing with too much happiness.

"I feel the same way, too, my love," I replied as I felt the butterflies churning in my stomach.

"Aren't we going home yet?" I asked when he took the shortcut going to Astikoz hills, and I suddenly felt alarmed if he would take me to his parent's mansion, and I felt relieved when I realized he was taking me to his favorite spot.

"Not yet; I want to take this chance to be alone with you," my husband responded as he looked at me sideways, and my heart was beating so fast.

"As long as you promise it will involve lots of kissing and touching," I responded.

"Hell, yeah!" He replied, and I could feel his hand on my thighs.

"Don't tease me, my love; you know how much I wanted to kiss and touch you whenever we are alone." He responded, and I giggled.

"I couldn't wait," I responded before I bit my lower lip which will always drives my husband nuts. He grunted, and I was laughing, and I only stopped when he pulled over the car near the tree.

My husband helped me climb down his pick-up truck by heaving me by the waist, and his masculine scent made me feel like jelly, and I was crazy about how he smelled. Ashton is the epitome of a handsome man.

"Wow! It is so beautiful up here, and I will never get tired of watching the scenery before us." I softly mumbled as I looked at the city lights below, and when I raised my head, I gasped as I could see thousands of stars in the sky while the moon illuminated the entire hills.

"Me too, but you looked more beautiful in my eyes, Megan," he whispered in my ear as he put his arms around my waist, and I smiled like an idiot.

"Flowery words are no longer necessary, Ashton; I already said I do," I teased, and he chuckled.

"I was only stating a fact, Megan," he said with seriousness as he spun me around.

I was mesmerized as I looked at his face, brightened by the moonlight.

"Besides, I will never get tired of complimenting my wife." He added and let me go.

I could feel the evening breeze tickling my skin as I watched my husband pull out the picnic blanket from the back of his truck, including the throw pillows.

"I want to stay the night here with you like the old times, but Axel would be waiting for us, and I don't want your parents to worry about you." My husband continued, and I could see the sadness on his face.

"Are you sure you don't want to see your parents and siblings?" I asked.

"I don't want to talk with my father after what happened, but if it would be alright with you, I will call my siblings and ask them to join us." He replied, and I nodded at him.

"Of course, I want to see them too, especially your sister," I said.

"I already texted Belle, and she said they are coming." My husband responded, and when he looked at me, I could tell there was more he wished to say.

"I wanted to ask you something," he stated with a solemn expression on his face.

"What is it?" I asked even if I was sure he would be asking me about why my brother didn't attend the party.

"Why didn't you tell me your brother got a girlfriend already," he said, and my face fell.

"I didn't get the chance; I only knew about it recently, I was shocked about it too, but there is nothing I can do. I tried to convince Dexter to coax Isabelle, but he said it was over between them." I responded, and I could see the sadness on his face as he let out a heavy sigh.

"I wanted to tell my sister about it, but I guess it would be better if you were the one to tell her when they got here." He said, and I was out of words.

"You want me to tell her about it, now?" I asked.

"The earlier, the better, I don't want my sister to think we were trying to keep this secret from her. I want my sister to move on with her life as well." He declared, and I agreed with my husband.

"Me too; I want Isabelle to be happy," I replied.

I suddenly felt nervous, and I didn't know how to tell my sister-in-law the sad news.

"Don't worry, my sister is a strong woman; for sure, she will get hurt, but she was expecting it to happen soon since she was the one who rejected your brother, and I couldn't blame Dexter," Ashton said as he took my hand.

We were sitting on the picnic blanket, holding hands watching the glimmering lights of the busy metropolis. I put my head on my husband's shoulder. We both fell silent as we waited for his siblings to come.

As usual, they brought beers and pizza, and when Isabelle hugged me, it felt like my heart was about to burst since I was feeling her pain before I could even tell her the truth.

"Hey, I missed you two, and I missed Axel more," Isabelle said right away after she kissed me on my cheeks.

"We missed you too," I responded, trying to act normal.

Lennon handed each of us a bottle of cold beer, and I needed to drink to have the courage to tell Isabelle what was going on in Dexter's life.

"Can we talk?" I asked Belle when I found the boys having a serious discussion about the latest football game, which my husband missed watching, and he only watched the game on YouTube.

"Sure!" She replied enthusiastically while I was having a hard time.

We excused ourselves from his siblings, and my husband gave me a nod as I walked behind Isabelle.

"Is everything okay, Megan?" She asked me with concern, and I nodded and then shook my head, and Belle took my hand.

"Meg, thank you for giving my brother another chance; I didn't sleep enough since I worried you would leave him again. I felt glad when he texted me he was staying at your parent's house." Belle said.

"You know I can't just shun your brother away, and our son is now growing fast. I don't want him to grow up without a father; besides, I don't want to make the same mistake again." I responded, and she smiled at me, but I could tell it didn't reach her ear.

"That is good to know, I envy you, Meg," she replied, and I raised my eyebrows.

"You have a big heart, and you forgive and forget," Isabelle added as she looked me in the eyes.

"What do you want to talk about, Meg?" She asked, and it took me a long time to respond.

"It is about Dexter," I softly answered.

"Look, Megan, I knew I made a mistake, and I was still finding the courage to see him and apologize. Maybe I felt so broken that I hurt him with my words on the beach house of grandpa Henry." She said, and I squeezed her hands.

"I am sorry, Isabelle, I don't want to be the bearer of sad news; but you should know that my brother is now dating someone named Monica, and they are living together and he told me they are getting married." There I said it, but the expression I saw on Isabelle's face made me wish I didn't tell her anything.

Belle turned around and ran away from me without a second glance, and I was cursing under my breath as I ran after her hoping I could do something to make her feel better.
