Megan's POV

I didn't want to face my husband yet, but I suddenly felt worried when I couldn't find my Ashton inside the house.

"He is in the backyard," my brother said when he saw me with an edgy look on my face.

"Is he alright?" I asked, and he couldn't answer me immediately; I know Dexter wasn't sure how to tell me what was on his mind.

"Don't worry and he was more upset with himself; he is not angry with you; Meg, your husband, was concerned if you were furious with him." He answered.

"Where is your girlfriend?" I asked as I tried to change the topic.

"She was at my place," he softly responded, and I don't know why he looked so tired."Are you living together?" I inquired, and he blushed. I wanted to ask my brother to think it over, but I was also concerned with his happiness, and this was the first time I heard he got someone in his life after Isabelle.

Maybe they are not meant to be with each other, and all I need is to give him my full support since there is nothing I want for my siblings but for them to have someone in their lives who will be there to love and support them in every aspect of their lives.

"Yeah, I asked Monica to move in with me to save and to prepare our future." He replied, and I smiled at my brother.

"I am happy for you, Dex, and I am sorry if I walked out of your place without giving her a proper greeting," I stated.

"Don't worry, I will try my best to be a better future sister-in-law to her," I added.

"Thank you, Meg, no worries; please understand that I couldn't attend future parties if Ashton's siblings would be there, especially Belle." He declared, and my face fell as I nodded my head.

I love Ashton's sister, and I knew she was only hurting and scared to give Dexter another chance, but if he only fought for her, I could tell he would win her back; I couldn't believe Dexter would let go of Isabelle after so many years of fighting for his love of her.

"Dex, I love you, and you know that, right?" I asked, and he smiled at me.

"Of course, Meg," he responded.

"Are you sure about your decision?" I asked, and he beamed at me, but I could see the uncertainties beneath his smile.

"Megan, I am no longer a teenager, and I have never been so sure my entire life," he replied.

"I don't want you to have regrets," I softly said.

"Hey, you know me, I won't have regrets, and I am telling you, this is the first time that I felt so happy after a long time." He answered, still wearing the same grin.

"I don't know, and it felt like you are still unhappy big brother," I replied, and he chuckled as he ruffled my hair like he used to do when we were still kids.

"Thank you so much for your concern, Meg, but you must let go of your worries and be happy for me." My brother said.

"You better go to him now, Meg; your husband was waiting for you," Dex added.

I left after my talk with Dexter and made my way to the backyard. I smiled when I found my husband gazing at the clear sky, wondering if he was still angry with me.

Ashton avoided my gaze while I only said hi and sat beside him. I didn't know where to start, and I was waiting for him to talk first, and it felt like an eternity before he turned his head and looked at me with tenderness.

I was shocked that my husband asked me to go on a date with him, and my heart was dancing with happiness as I realized my he wanted to spend quality time with me.

I spent time with Ava for the rest of the day while Ashton and Axel had a good time in the backyard.

I felt glad my parents bought the empty lot next to our property, and we now have a backyard where my father spent his free time mending her vegetable garden while mom was busy with her roses on the other side.

There was enough space left where we could have outdoor parties. I was excited for the rest of the day, and thankful Ava didn't return to her place. She helped me with my hair and make-up, and I was pleased with the result I saw in the mirror.

"Wow! Having a date with your husband is very cool, Megan; not all husband would ask their wives to have a date after marriage, you are so lucky," she said with a weak smile, and I could see the emptiness and sadness on her face.

"Don't worry so much; you are beautiful, Ava; I am sure the right one will come along, don't spend your time crying over a cheater. You deserve someone better, and he will come the least you expect to meet him, and you will be happy again." I declared.

"It is easy for you to say, Meg, I am not as beautiful as you. You were torn between the two hottest celebrities in the country, while I had no one. I better stay single for the rest of my life than experience this kind of pain again." She responded.

"Hey, don't say that, Ava. You are still young, and you are my mini-me, and you will always be beautiful to us. Please, don't lose hope, especially in terms of falling in love. I know, as of this time, no words can alleviate how you feel, but it will pass, and time heals." I said as I took her hand.

"Thank you, Meg. I knew you had been brokenhearted before, you are a strong woman, and I am so proud of you; if not because of you, I could tell I would be spending my time lying on my bed as I cry my heart out." Ava stated.

"I wished to be brave like you, and I realized it wasn't easy to remain strong when the person you trusted the most was the one who caused you so much unhappiness and pain." My sister added I can relate to what she means.

"Thank you for giving me some bits of advice, Meg, but I am aware that I am the only one who can help myself. The process of healing my broken heart always depends on how I will accept the things that happened to my partner and me." She continued.

"You are welcome, but I think I should be the one thanking you for making me beautiful tonight, and please don't let our son wait for us; I am not sure what time we will be back; please let him take a bath before going to sleep." I said.

"You are welcome, Meg. Leave everything to us, and we will only buy Axel toys and some clothes. Then, we will allow him to play some games. We will be home early," my sister replied, and I couldn't stop smiling.

"Please don't spoil him with so many toys, Ava," I mumbled.

"Meg, we missed so many birthdays of our nephew. Dex and I wished to buy Axel the things we wanted to give him during his birthday parties that we missed. I hope you will allow us to spend some of our savings on him." My sister added,

"Well, thank you, I am sure he would be ecstatic about it," I replied, and she beamed at me.

"Please take care of our little boy, Ava," I stated as I looked at her in the eyes.

"Of course, Meg, I will. You better go to your husband now, or else he will be wondering what took you so long." Ava replied as she tried to hide her own sadness.

I didn't expect Ashton would be waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, and I swallowed my saliva when I saw how hot he looked in his grey business suit.

I suddenly felt conscious, but how he looked at me was enough to let me know; my sister did a good job by making me look beautiful.

"Are you ready, my love?" He asked as he stared at me after he settled himself in the driver's seat.

"Yes, and I am excited to know where you are taking me," I responded.

"I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am only taking you to the park," my husband responded, and I giggled.

"I don't care; as long as I am with you, I will be happy and excited," I replied, and he took my hand as he drove away from my parent's house.

As expected, my husband took me to the fanciest restaurant in Archois. I remembered the times I passed by this place when I was still in High School with Alice; we lingered outside the restaurant and imagined we were daughters of the wealthy businessmen in Archois.

We tried saving money so we could eat here after we graduated from college, but we didn't get the chance.

"Are you okay, my love?" I heard my husband ask me.

"Of course, I couldn't believe we would be dining here, it was funny, but I want to share it with you." I responded with a smile.

"That sounds interesting," my husband responded.

"Alice and I tried to save money so we could eat here, but our savings weren't enough since we used them for school supplies. We applied as a part-time waitress here, but the owner only wanted to hire full-time employees." I said, and I couldn't stop from feeling embarrassed that we couldn't afford to dine in at this expensive restaurant."I am glad I made a reservation here through your best friend, and no wonder she chose this place," my husband replied, and my eyes widened as she looked at me.

"Yes, even if you are now my wife, I still wanted to surprise and impress you because I wished to make you happy every day, my love." He replied, and my heart swelled with happiness as I sweetly smiled at my husband.
