“I wouldn’t let you insult me like this, Julian!” Sydney snapped. “I have been devoted to you all through our marriage and you are just going to accuse me of cheating on you when you don’t even amhave any proof?”

“Who said I didn’t have proof?” Julian said.”Ashley showed me everything.”

“So you will believe Ashley’s words over mine?” Sydney’s voice broke as she spoke. “Ashley is lying to you! Can’t you see that?!”

Julian rubbed his face, his frown deepening. He pointed at the exit of the living room and said. “Just get out of my house, Sydney. Me and you are done!”

Sydney exhaled, her whole body trembling. Tears pricked behind her eyes, but she fought against it. “I hope you are happy with your decision,” she said and walked out of the living room.

Ashley smirked as she watched Sydney leaving the living room.

Outside the mansion, Sydney stood by the roadside with her luggage. She brought out her phone from her purse and dialed a number she hadn’t called for five years. In no time, the person picked. “I thought you would never call.”

Sydney sighed. “You are right,” she said to the other person on the phone. “I shouldn’t have left. I should have known better.”

“So you are ready to return home?”

“Yes.”

“Alright, I will send someone to pick you.”

“Okay,” Sydney said and hung up.

Five years ago, Sydney made a wrong decision. She had turned her back on those who cared about her just so she could be with Julian. Then, she was ready to risk everything for the love they had once shared. Looking back, she realized she was such a fool to do that. No man was worth losing everything for.

Moments later, a sleek black Bugatti pulled up beside her. The front door opened, and a young man in a refined blue suit stepped out. He smiled as he approached.

HH“It’s nice to see you again, Miss Sydney.”

She returned the smile.

Sydney was about to say something when she saw Julian rushing out of the house like a mad man. Ashley walked behind him like his shadow. A haunting one.

“So this is the man you were cheating on me with?” He asked, glaring at Sydney. “We just divorced and you are already jumping into the hand of another man! How could I have married you? I should have known you were after me because of my money!”

The man beside Sydney frowned. Julian looked wealthy, but something about him seemed… average. The man glanced at Sydney. “Who is he?”

Sydney didn’t even turn. She opened the back door of the car. “Nobody,” she said, and got in.

The man nodded, loaded her luggage into the trunk, and slid back into the driver’s seat.

Ashley watched as the car sped off, her eyes wide.

She had lied about Sydney’s infidelity—but who would’ve thought Sydney actually was seeing someone?

“She really has no shame,” Ashley muttered, crossing her arms.

Julian clenched his fists, his knuckles white. Sydney was the only woman he had ever loved. After becoming wealthy, he made sure she lacked nothing. But instead of being faithful, she’d gone behind his back. And now, she had the nerve to let another man pick her up right in front of him.

“Damn it!” he growled, storming back into the mansion.

After leaving Julian’s office, Ashley met up with Aleric in a quiet restaurant. It had been almost a week since Julian had been demoted to a mere department head. Ashley knew she needed to do something about it to win back Julian’s trust. No matter the cost, she was ready to do anything just to let Julian be by her side again.Aleric sat up in his chair and studied his sister’s face. “Look you stressed, sis,” he teased. “You should rest unless you will start to look twice your age.”Ashley narrowed her eyes at Aleric and shook her head. “You sure are relaxed. I mean, you finally got engaged to the girl of your dreams, how will you relate to me?”“That’s true though, but you are my sister. Of course, I am worried about you.”“Then do something about Sydney if you are that worried. Julian can't even stand my sight at the moment. I will lose him if this goes on.”Aleric scoffed. “What is it about that man that gets you so worked up? He is a nobody now. Why are you still bothered about

After the spa date, Jade texted Arthur to pick her up. She wanted to flaunt him to her friend and make Quinn jealous. It wasn't long after she sent the message that Arthur walked into the spa, looking dashing and madly attractive in his three-piece black suit. Jade smiled when she saw him walking up to her and said to her friends, “We saw each other this morning, yet he insisted he wants to have lunch with me.” She looked at Quinn and curled her hand under her chin. “I don't need to be told. My husband definitely can't do without me."Hailey smiled sweetly, looking at Arthur as he came close. “Indeed he can’t. You are a beauty goddess, Jade. Which man wouldn't want your attention?”Jade smiled broadly. She wiped an invisible sweat from her face with the back of her hand and sighed. “Seriously, it is exhausting. That man goes to any length just to please me.” She arched her brow at Quinn. “I’m sure Quinn here can relate to what I am saying.”Quinn smiled back at Jade and said, “Of cour

Jade dropped the phone from her ear and groaned. She was angry at everything! And the person she was most angry at was Sydney! She wouldn't have been stuck in that position if Sydney had acted pettily by freezing Julian’s account. But no, that bitch had to prove she had power and went ahead to put an obstacle in their way!Gosh, she was frustrated. She gripped the phone, not able to control her anger. The thought of even leaving the restroom to join her friends in the waiting room unsettled her. She shouldn't have come for the spa date in the first place. At least it would have saved her from all the embarrassment she had incurred. She sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. A wrinkle was visible under her eyelids, she brought out her skincare product and smeared some of it along her eyelids. She couldn't afford to look like her problem. Never. She was adjusting the collar of her jacket when one of the doors of the stalls opened and Quinn walked out. Jade froze. Had Quin been

Julian had just arrived at the office. When he sat down, he got busy with work, checking all the sales records and the allocated finances for upcoming projects. Sydney had promised to give him back his position as the CEO if he was able to increase the company’s sales. He was going to endure the sale skyrocketing just to show her how serious he was in winning her back. While reading one of the piles of documents on his desk, his phone started ringing. He looked at the phone vibrating on the desk and thought about ignoring it. He had been receiving a lot of calls lately after the news of his demotion spread throughout the whole country. At that moment, he didn't want to talk about anything to anyone. The phone stopped ringing and he continued reading the documents in his hand. Just when he thought he finally had a moment of silence, the phone rang again causing him to become unconscious of who was calling him relentlessly. He leaned close to his desk and checked the caller. When he s

The next morning, Jade went back to her bedroom to prepare for the day. Arthur had left for work so she didn't meet him in the bedroom. She had her bath and sauntered to her walk-in closet to check for the outfit she was going to wear. After browsing through the closet, she settled for a soft woolen brown skirt and jacket. She looked at the section where a variety of fancy bags were arranged and wondered which bag to pair with her outfit. She groaned as she thought, she wouldn’t be in this position if she had purchased that beige Birkin bag. With a heavy sigh, she picked a nice black clutch and went back to her bedroom. She got dressed and walked out of the bedroom. She went to the dining room and met her daughter seated at the table, eating her breakfast. She joined her in the dining room and waited for the chef to serve her meal. After she was done eating, she kissed her daughter on the cheek and bid her goodbye. Then, her nanny entered the dining room to take her daughter to schoo

  • The CEO’s Savage Ex-Wife   26 - The Birkin Bag

Jade dropped the phone from her ear and stared at it absent-mindedly. She had thought Julian was going to send the money for the Birkin bag that night. Who would have thought that his account got frozen by his ex-wife? Jade leaned back on the headrest of her bed and scoffed. She had always seen Sydney as a nobody who was only leeching on her brother’s money, but the bitch had had something up her sleeve all the while. Now that her brother no longer wants her, she has decided to get revenge. Jade shook her head and laughed at how Sydney was behaving. Was she a child? Why is it so hard for her to accept that Julian no longer wants her? She needed to pick up her broken pieces and leave her brother alone! Why must she go as far as freezing his account?! Jade gripped her hair. She felt like she was losing her mind, if Julian stopped sending money to her, she didn’t know how she would cope. While she was still deep in thought on how to find the money for the Birkin bag, the bathroom
