The steel-grey waters of Lake Geneva churned under a cold alpine wind as the armored convoy arrived at the historic Palais de Justice.

Inside the subterranean chamber of the Sovereign Tribunal, ancient oak pillars and hand-woven heraldic banners of Europe’s oldest noble houses lined the stone walls. At the head of the raised marble bench sat **Duke Henri de Valmont**. Flanked by six silent, robe-clad judges, Henri looked imposing and ancient, his silver-streaked hair gleaming under the iron chandeliers, his cold blue eyes fixed on the heavy iron doors at the rear of the hall.

The doors swung open with a heavy, echoing thud.

Isabella walked down the central aisle like a reigning monarch. She wore a floor-length dark navy velvet coat over a sleek silk gown, her gold jewelry catching the candlelight, her chin lifted high with unshakeable royal confidence.

Beside her, Nathan moved like an executioner in a bespoke black three-piece suit. His storm-grey eyes scanned the elevated gallery, his broad shoulders squared, his presence exuding a dark, terrifying authority that silenced the whispered conversations among the observing European aristocrats.

Duke Henri struck his brass gavel against the marble block.

"Isabella Reed," Henri’s deep, cultured voice echoed across the vaulted ceiling. "You stand before the Grand Sovereign Tribunal of Geneva to answer for thirty years of illegal possession of the Valmont Trust, usurped ancestral titles, and the fraudulent operation of European energy assets."

Isabella stopped at the center of the marble floor, looking straight up at Duke Henri without a single flicker of fear.

"I stand here as the Chairwoman of Reed-Hayes International," Isabella stated, her voice smooth, crystalline, and carrying effortless power. "And I don't answer to a self-appointed tribunal of shadow financiers hiding behind century-old heraldic seals."

A collective gasp rippled through the gallery of noble spectators.

Henri’s jaw tightened, his knuckles whitening on his gavel. "Under the Ducal Succession Act of 1898, this tribunal holds absolute jurisdiction over all Valmont bloodline assets. Your father, Richard Hayes, hid your existence because he knew your mother’s branch was illegitimate. Under European probate law, your voting shares in Reed-Hayes are hereby forfeit to the House of Valmont."

Count Charles de Valmont, sitting at the prosecution table, smirked triumphantly.

Nathan took a slow, deliberate step forward, slicing through the tension like a steel blade. He reached into his inner breast pocket, withdrawing a heavy, gold-embossed velvet binder stamped with the official seal of the French Constitutional Court.

Nathan tossed the binder onto Duke Henri’s bench with a loud, resounding thud.

"The 1898 Ducal Succession Act was formally superseded by the French Constitutional Accord of 1905," Nathan announced, his deep baritone reverberating off the stone walls like thunder. "A ratifying document signed by your own great-grandfather, Duke Alphonse de Valmont."

Henri’s face drained of color as he looked down at the gold-embossed seal. "This... this document was classified in the French National Archives—"

"It was classified until my legal team unsealed it three hours ago under an emergency decree from the French Ministry of Justice," Nathan countered, his storm-grey eyes locking onto Henri with lethal, victorious dominance.

Isabella stepped up beside Nathan, her hazel eyes burning with brilliant, triumphant fire.

"Article 4 of the 1905 Accord explicitly designates the direct maternal lineage of Lady Eleanor de Valmont—my grandmother—as the sole, unalterable sovereign titleholder of the European land trusts," Isabella declared, her voice ringing out like a silver bell of absolute judgment. "Which means your branch, Henri, was demoted to secondary collateral administrators over a hundred years ago."

The six judges on the bench leaned together in frantic, panicked whispers, examining the decrypted constitutional decrees on their terminals.

"The claim of the House of Valmont is legally null and void," the Lead Judge announced, his voice trembling as he struck his own gavel. "The voting equity of Reed-Hayes International remains entirely under the sole authority of Isabella Reed-Cole."

Count Charles collapsed back into his chair, staring in complete, utter horror as their centuries-old legal trap dissolved into dust before the entire European aristocracy.

Nathan leaned over Duke Henri’s bench, his massive frame towering over the old nobleman, his voice dropping into a low, terrifying whisper that only Henri could hear.

"Your tribunal is broken, Henri," Nathan growled softly. "And if you ever attempt to challenge my wife’s bloodline again, the Interpol warrants currently waiting on my desk will execute against every private bank account your family owns in Switzerland."

Henri sat frozen, unable to utter a single word as Nathan slid his hand into the small of Isabella's back, guiding her turn toward the exit.

As they walked down the center aisle together in complete, glorious victory, Isabella’s eyes drifted toward the dark, shadows of the upper VIP gallery.

Sitting in the very back row was a tall man in a tailored charcoal coat, holding a silver cane topped with a golden dragon's head. He didn't look angry; he slowly raised a gloved hand, clapping in quiet, amused applause before fading back into the deep shadows of the hall.

Isabella felt a sudden, electric chill run down her spine. The Valmonts were defeated, but the true master of the Sovereign Council had just shown his face.
