Ariana's POV

I was unsure when sleep took over, but when I opened my eyes, my gaze fell on Damien's back. He was all dressed up. I don't know if it was my movement or if he was already about to turn around.

"You are finally awake," he said, walking towards me.

I pulled myself to sit on the bed. My back was now resting on the bed headboard. Damien sat on the edge of the bed. He only had on a shirt and black trousers. His tie was secured with a tie pin, and it was lying perfectly on his white shirt. He planted a kiss on my forehead, and I just smiled.

"Something came up, so we are not going to the office today. We are going somewhere else," Damien said, and I frowned.

"Where are we going?" I asked, and he smiled at me.

"Let's just say, we have important work to do at another location. So, you take a shower, get dressed, and we will leave after breakfast," Damien said, and his gaze shifted to my belly. "How are you doing, my little one?" he asked.

He reached to touch my belly, but he pau

Gwen's POVMy heart stopped, but Ethan was oblivious to my plight as he walked away. I stared at his back until he vanished into the bathroom. I dropped onto the bed, tears spilling down my face. Why would he say that to me? Why does he want me to kill our baby? I thought, my hand rubbing my belly gently. I searched my mind for answers, and I remembered the viral video about me. I instantly stood up from the bed and wiped my tears with the back of my hand. I hurried my steps into the bathroom. I found Ethan standing with his hands resting on the counter’s edge, and his gaze fixated on the mirror. "Mr Grey, are you asking me to end this pregnancy because you think the baby isn’t yours?" I questioned, hoping that was the reason. He dropped his head as soon as I asked the question, and turned to face me after what felt like forever. "I don't want to talk about it. Stop reminding me of that. It makes you disgusting," he growled, and I could swear his eyes changed colour. Did I imagi

Third Person POVWhile Damien and Ariana battled for their lives, and Michael and Eve tried to solve the mystery, somewhere in Royal City, near the border, a cabin sat deep in the woods. Inside, Analica, Victoria, and Alpha Leo celebrated their successful plan."Cheers to a well-executed plan," Victoria said, raising her glass, her huge belly leading her.Glasses clinked, and the air was filled with laughter."Quick question," Alpha Leo suddenly interrupted the joyous moment. All eyes shifted toward him, waiting patiently."Are you sure they will not find you out?" Leo asked, his gaze fixed on Victoria, whose glass held only water. His expression made his doubts clear despite the apparent success of their plan."How can he?" Victoria chuckled. "The poison was administered by the maid, who didn’t even know she was feeding her master poison," she added, a smile of accomplishment on her face."Deception!" Analica chipped in. "That’s what magic potions are for." Both ladies laughed, and A

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 127: Solving the Mystery - Part 1

Eve's POVAriana appears to be in what the human describes as a coma, and so is Ethan, but the good news is, they are both okay. I have been aggressive, angry, and all the emotions you can think of since I arrived in Royal City. I sat in the hallway on a cold metal chair, my head lowered, reflecting on the events of the day. Images of Damien and Ariana flash in my mind, causing me to cry within."Hey," I heard the familiar voice, and I raised my head to meet Michael's gaze. He was leaning against the wall, his arms folded across his chest."Hey," I replied and lowered my head."How is Damien?" Michael asked, and I twitched my lips."He's just there, occasionally moving his fingers," I replied, solemnly. "And how is Ariana?" I threw the question to him."No change, her colour keeps draining away," Michael replied."Any update on the lab?" I asked, recalling that her sample was taken for that purpose."Nothi..." Michael began, and Dr Francis showed his face. He had a plaster on his no

Eve's POVHis face was stained with blood resulting from my punches. I suddenly became calm, staring at Damien. He appears to be breathing steadily now. A gold light travelled through his body. I stared in awe, wondering what was happening. Kevin quickly moved to Damien's bedside, like he wanted a closer look. I shifted my gaze back to Dr Francis, who was still on the floor, coughing out blood. I grabbed him by the collar and yanked him to his feet."He is fine," he stammered, his voice quivering with fear."I see he is not convulsing any more. But what is happening now, and when will he open his eyes?" I demanded, staring into his frightened eyes. "The phoenix ash contains elements of magic, at least, from what I can remember from the book. The rebirth of a phoenix happens from this ash. The silverroot powder, is also magical and used in preparing portions for different purposes. It's herbal-based and has some nutritional benefits, but carries properties beyond the natural. The co

Eve's POVI flew in with the hope of saving my brother, but unfortunately, the antidote didn't work. Ariana, a human girl, had to sacrifice her life to save my brother. I wish I could stop her. I love my brother, but at this moment, was the sacrifice worth it? We were sacrificing a mother and a child to save a full-grown man. Fuck! I cursed within me as I stood there and watched the doctor draw Ariana's blood. She was our luna now, human or not, and I could not just disobey her orders. My wolf wrestled within me as I stood there helpless, hoping with all my might, I could stop the doctor."If this antidote does not save Damien's life, I will tear you apart, piece by piece and watch you die a slow, painful death," I threatened the doctor, the moment I opened my mouth.I watched the doctor push the needle into Ariana's arm, and I clutched my fist. It felt like it was my arms he had pushed the needle into. I watched as the blood slowly filled the back of the syringe. My gaze shifted to

  • The Chosen Human Luna   Chapter 124: The Great Sacrifice

Ariana's POV"Ariana, you are pregnant," Eve reminded me. "And still weak from your mountain adventure," she added. "You are carrying an alpha's child. A single drop of blood drawn from you could be the end of you," she explained, and it felt like someone had drenched me in cold water. "I am a werewolf, with Alpha blood running through my veins. My blood should be able to save my brother. He is my blood brother. Same father and mother?" Eve barked at the doctor like it was his fault."Ma'am, I followed all the correct measurements in preparing the antidote. It says here in black and white, if the antidote fails, it could only mean one thing. The poison reached his wolf spirit. The only way to neutralise the poison is to use his mate's blood to prepare the antidote," Dr Francis explained, still holding the book open.I felt a gust of wind blow past me, and it was followed by the sound of a book falling to the floor. My gaze quickly moved in that direction, only to find Dr Francis hang
