The Chosen Werewolf

SIERRA’S POV

“Are you ready for your birthday?”

I took a glance at my friend, Shelly, who was more excited than I was. My eighteenth birthday will be held in 2 days' time. And I am a bit nervous about what will happen that time. I will shift to a werewolf form and I will be able to meet my wolf. That time also, I might be able to meet my mate. In which I hope there will be Asher, my boyfriend of two years already. He is my first love, and, of course, he is the Alpha’s son, and me, Sierra Marie Finnegan, the Beta’s only daughter. Since it was obvious that Asher and I had a romantic relationship, everyone was expecting that we would be mates. Everyone believes that we are perfect future leaders of this pack.

Asher and I have the same birthday also. We were born on the same day that makes our parents believe that we are really meant for each other.

“I am ready, as always, but a little bit nervous,” I answered Shelly.

Shelly has been my friend since grade school. She was one year older and she shifted last year. Her wolf, Shane, is huge, with a mixed color of white and brown. She has this pair of hazelnut eyes that make everyone shiver when she’s angry. But even though she shifted last year, she still hasn’t met her mate.

“Come on? There should be nothing to be nervous about," Shelly commented.

I took a deep sigh. Actually, there's too much pressure going on my mind. As a Beta's daughter, everyone is expecting that on my birthday, I will shift, and they are expecting that my wolf is huge and stunning, just like my parents. I didn't question my ability to shift that time, but I can't help but think about what kind my wolf is. And also, I am nervous about my mate. Even though I feel that Asher is my mate, it doesn't guarantee that the Moon Goddess will make it real. Still, the choice relies on her.

"Are you thinking that Asher might not be your mate?" Shelly asked me seriously.

I nodded. "I am not prepared if Asher is not my mate. You know that he is my first love, and for two years, I have already been dependent on him," I answered in a worried tone.

"I know how it feels. But whatever will happen, just so you know, I am always here. I am always ready for your rants," she jokingly said.

I smiled a bit. Shelly is a jolly one. But I know that she's serious about saying that she's always at my side. She is a good friend and she's dependable. I shared almost half of my life with her. And I am very thankful that I met her.

"Hi ladies!"

We turned our gaze to the gentleman who greeted us. My heart suddenly beat fast when I saw Asher smiling at me. He's wearing a plain white polo shirt and black pants partnered with a pair of sneakers. His hair looked messy but it was screaming handsomeness. I even smelled his perfume, which is my favorite scent. I couldn't help but to smile widely as I ran towards him and gave him a peck on his cheeks.

"How's your day, my princess?" he asked as he held my hand.

"A bit tiring but since I saw you, I already have full energy," I answered.

"Shut up!" Shelly commented in an annoyed tone.

"Get lost, Shelly. You really need to find your mate as soon as possible," Asher told her.

Shelly rolled her eyes. Being single, she can't stand the sweetness of Asher and me. But I know that deep in her heart, she is happy seeing the two of us like this. She is always a supportive friend.

"The moment I met my mate, I assure you that you can't ever mock me like that," Shelly said.

We both laughed. I can't wait to witness that moment. I know that Shelly is eager to meet her mate, and I hope it happens sooner.

"Yeah sure," Asher jokingly said.

"I will just leave you two. Enjoy the rest of the day. Bye!"

Shelly waved her hand and walked away. I almost shouted when Asher lifted me. I wrapped my legs around his waist while he took the chance to claimed my lips. I closed my eyes as I savor the passionate kiss he gave me.

"Two more days, my love," he said seriously.

"Ash, what if--"

He didn't let me finish my question. He once again claimed my lips, and when he let it go, he looked straight in my eyes.

"You're my mate, Sierra. Always remember that."

I tried to ask many times, but he always cut me off. He was really sure that we would be mates, and he didn't want me to think that there would be a possibility that it was not going to happen.

"But what if?" I asked.

He shook his head. "Baby, the moment we shift and mate, I will arrange our marriage as soon as possible. So stop thinking now, okay? I love you, Sierra. And nothing's going to change that."

"I love you too, Ash, so much!"
