I sat at the breakfast table, my gaze flickering between my plate and the two genders before me. He was giving her the attention she needed, and the way he kept smiling at every word she spoke to him. It was even obvious that he had forgotten I was here – watching how romantic they were playing right before me.
I felt a pang of jealousy and anger gnawing inside of me. I used to be the center of Raven's world, I used to think with him, I would be treated like a princess, but ever since Sophia entered our lives, everything had changed. I was no longer the princess in this scenario.
The princess of Raven was someone else.
Someone more beautiful and cuter than I am. A girl whom Raven loved and adored, and he was willing to do anything – whatever it took to make her happy. He was willing to bring the stars down, to kill anyone just for her sake.
It pained me the most that all these had happened just in a blink of an eye, and even till now, I can't explain how it all happened. The pain, the hurt... And the fact that she was his mate was more terrifying than watching them staring at each other with love filled in their eyes.
I clenched my fist beneath the table, fighting to keep my composure. I still don't understand why he wasn't seeing the picture clearly that her presence had only caused more harm than good. We used to be happy even though we aren't mates, we promised to let the love lead us, but now...
"Olivia, pass me the salt." He said, his voice was a bit harsh as he stared at me.
Forced to tear my gaze from the scene before me, I reached for the salt shaker. I passed the salt to him, our fingers brushed against each other momentarily before we retreated.
Raven whispered something into her ears, causing her to laugh. My jaw tightened as I fought to suppress the wave of resentment washing over me. The tension was palpable as she took a spoon of the fried rice into her mouth, grinding on it.
I held my breath, staring at her to see her reaction. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Eww. This tastes awful." She muttered under her breath.
Raven furrowed his brow in concern as he turned to her. "Is something wrong, my dear?" he asked, his tone laced with worry.
"Yes, Raven, everything is wrong. Did you taste this food? It tastes awful." She barked, wiping her mouth with the white table towel.
Raven tasted the rice, a deep frown played on his face. I had already started eating, and I didn't see anything wrong with the food. Or were they just trying to pull my legs?
"What's the meaning of this?" He blurted.
"That is food, Raven. That's what it means." I said less reluctantly.
"Well, your food tastes weird."
"I've been eating this for a couple of minutes now and I don't find anything wrong with it. But if it does taste awkward to you guys, then you should ask her to make a better one for you."
"You dare not talk to my mate like that!" He growled.
"Oh please, Raven. Like you said, she is your mate. If what I cooked isn't delicious, then just do it yourself. And about her, why should I care if she doesn't like the food or not." I shrugged my shoulders, taking another mouthful of the rice into my mouth.
Lately, he's been making me look more like a maid than his fiancée. While I worked my ass up and down, all she does is sleep, eat, complain about almost everything.
"Raven, are you going to leave her after she had insulted me?" Sophia said, mellowing her voice so that Raven would feel pitiful for her.
"Olivia, you have to make it up to her. You must cook something else, this time I want it sweeter than this trash."
"Trash?" I scoffed. "I'm not walking into that kitchen anymore. You can't keep making me look like a fool all because of her!"
Sophia was looking at Raven, and the more he kept looking at her, the more he reacted to me. I was already tired of the whole drama, and I wasn't even ready to stoop too low for her. Angrily, I stood up to walk away.
Sophia stood up to block me, but ended up hitting me. She yelled, pretending to be hurt. I looked at her in surprise, I didn't do anything to her but she had intentionally fallen to the ground to get Raven's attention.
"You should learn how to watch where you are going." I told her.
Raven stood up. He didn't say anything for a while, and then, with furrowed brows, he walked closer to me. "You?" He pointed. His voice was almost indistinct but enough to make my heart skip a beat. "Do you really have to be so annoying? Can't you for once be responsible?"
"I didn't do anything to her." I defended myself. "You should ask her, she purposely fell on her own."
"You saw her, Raven, you saw what she did to me." Sophia said, pretending to be in pain. "Do something!"
"So you're gonna listen to her –" Before I could say the next word, I felt his hand make a rough contact on my face. It shocked me to the core that Raven dared to touch me for the first time all because of her?
I was hurt, especially at the way he looked at me. "I cannot have you as my mate," He muttered. A stabbing pain shot through me as those words escaped his lips. I looked at him with tears streaming down my face.
"Why, Raven?" I asked, my voice breaking. "What's so special about her that you will do anything for her? What's so special about her that you easily believe everything she says?"
"Everything, Olivia. Everything is special about her."
Was I too ugly or undesirable for him to show such a reaction to me?
"Isn't it obvious? I don't want you. I don't need you in my life, Olivia! I need a strong Luna by my side, and Sophia is an obvious choice. I can't live with a weak, regular-looking she-wolf like you, don't you understand? Meeting you was a mistake."
I wanted to step away and leave but I couldn't, my feet were paralyzed and I couldn't move. I wanted to look away while they walked out of the dining room, but I couldn't help but watch with teary eyes.
It was obviously clear that he doesn't want me anymore. Worst of all, he had chosen her over me.
For the two of them, touring Madison Square Garden was enjoyable. They get to see more than what is shown to the public; they get to experience the greatest moments that occurred there, even if it is just in virtual reality. They get to snap a lot of photos there, some of which are perfect for publishing on social media. Some were also ideal for changing their profile images. Despite this, Conrad is able to make Jaiden happy and enjoy her day, despite the fact that something is bothering her mind. He's simply hoping she'll open up before the day is done. After their tour of Madison Square Garden, they headed to Brooklyn, where Conrad had one more surprise in store for Jaiden. Since it was a little early for his surprise, he recalls how much she enjoyed Frozen Yogurt. So he decided to take her to a frozen yogurt shop he knew. Fortunately, the business was nearby, so there was no need for him to second-guess himself or rush their rendezvous. They h
Conrad has finished prepping for their New York tour. He was dressed in a white shirt and jeans with a Philadelphia-themed blazer. He was astonished to see Jaiden waiting by the doorway when he opened it.“Jaiden, everything okay?” He asked worriedly.“Yeah, I just kind of wanted to see what your room looks like.” She chuckled softly. “Hey, it’s the jacket I gave you.” She said as soon as she noticed the jacket. “It looks better on you in person than in the picture you sent me.”She holds onto Conrad’s shoulder and feels the fabric through as her hands caress his arms. She holds onto his hands and intertwines them. After a while, their foreheads stick to each other and they can feel each other’s warm breath. Jaiden gives out a smile as she reminisces the last time she felt comfortable and safe in Conrad’s arms. But now, she doesn’t feel it. It’s like the feeling she felt once, was long gone.“So… You’re going to let me in your room?” She asked as she let go.“Yeah, if you really want
Conrad felt upbeat as soon as he woke up on Saturday morning. He took out his phone and checked to see if he had any texts, which he did. Jaiden texted to inquire about tonight's movie night. He jumped out of bed, realizing he had forgotten it was movie night with Jaiden. He should have been panicked by this point, yet he was actually cool. It's not the calm before the storm, but rather the serenity of being ready for anything. After yesterday night, he thought he'd finally regained his confidence. But, he still has second thoughts about telling her the truth. He responds to her text and asks when they can video talk. He walks into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face while he waits for her response. Jaiden had not responded by the time he was through. He knows she doesn't typically take this long to respond, so this was unusual for him. He exits the room and keeps his phone nearby in case Jaiden responds.Moments later, as Conrad was about to eat breakfast, Alfred emerge
The stars and moon shone brightly in the night sky, creating a lovely atmosphere. The couple was walking through the park, hands clasped and a smile on their cheeks. This hasn't transpired in New York since the couple met. The universe seemed to want them to meet and be together. Nothing went wrong on their date, and they intuitively felt like they could face the universe's challenges together.Walking along the park, they came across a huge fountain that seemed like where all the couples hang out. Some are throwing coins into the fountain wishing their love would last, some are sharing an ice cream cone by the side, and some just happened to make their relationship official.Looking around for a place to hang out, an outdoor cafe caught Conrad’s eye.“Want to hang out here for a while?” Conrad asked.“You go on ahead. I think I’m just going over the fountain.” She walked on over there immediately with a bothered look, leaving Conrad behind.Conrad noticed her troubled expression and
Friday night, the night where Conrad and Olivia had been waiting for. Both planned an extravagant night for their first date. And by means of making it extravagant, they both wanted it to be perfect. But little did they know, destiny has other plans for them.Conrad arrives at Olivia's apartment at exactly 7 pm as planned. As he was about to knock on the door, his hand stopped before his fingers could even touch it. He asked himself again if this was the right decision as anxiety is creeping up on him.He overthinks that maybe wearing a royal blue long sleeve polo, jeans, and white sneakers was a bad idea. He also thought that maybe he was making a bad decision. He takes a step back, shakes his hands, and takes a deep breath. He tells himself that he looks great tonight, his decision was right and nothing wrong was done as he reminds himself that he’s doing this for love. He regained his confidence and felt ready for their date again. He knocks on the door and patiently waits for Oliv
Back at the apartment, Conrad was lying down on his bed. After today’s events, he couldn’t stop thinking about it. It got stuck to his mind like sticky notes on a book. However, even though Olivia was acting a bit weird today, he didn’t realize during those moments that she was turning head over heels over him. He asked himself full of hope, “Is she the right person that will fit my future life?” But then, Jaiden suddenly pops into his head out of nowhere. He knew that Jaiden is also the right person, but he was having second thoughts wherein maybe having a long-distance relationship won’t work between them. They might be great for each other, but there will come a time when you will find someone else, and sooner or later, you’ll love that person more than the one you loved first. Alfred knocks on the door as he enters Conrad’s room and stands by the doorway. “Hey, you’ve been quiet for the past couple of hours… You okay?” Alfred said in a worried tone. “Yeah, it’s just that… I’ve
