Chapter 1

Ten o’clock at night, the city of Yogyakarta.

A middle-aged woman was walking alone on the sidewalk. She had just returned from work, and the exhaustion made her slightly drowsy.

BANG!

Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind her. A car sped forward and crashed into a trash bin. Due to its high speed, the car lost control and eventually struck the middle-aged woman, killing her on the spot.

That woman was Sean’s biological mother. The investigation results stated that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol, but Sean did not believe any of it. He was absolutely certain that the accident was related to his father’s mistress.

“Father! I want an explanation from you!” Sean demanded from his father.

“What do you want to know?” his father asked.

“What are you planning? Did you deliberately kill my mother?” Sean asked, his heart filled with rage.

SLAP!

What he received was not an answer, but a slap from his father.

“Bastard! Ungrateful child! What are you thinking? Why would I kill your mother?” his father shouted.

“I already know everything! For the sake of that slut, you were willing to kill your own wife, weren’t you? From today onward, I have nothing to do with the Diningrat family!”

Sean was deeply disappointed. After his mother’s funeral, he left the city of Yogyakarta and went to Bandung. His life became exactly like that of an ordinary person. He married a beautiful woman who was originally from Bandung. Even so, he never received a warm welcome from his in-laws after the marriage.

Until one day, he and his wife, Mega Litari, were expelled from her family and lived with a modest income. But he did not complain at all, because he had an understanding wife and a very beautiful daughter. His life was already more than enough.

Soekarno Hatta Street. Sean was carrying a box of cakes he had bought for his daughter, Andini, as he walked toward his home.

A message came into Sean’s phone. He looked at the message and read it.

‘Young Master, seven years have passed. Is your resentment toward the Master truly that great?’

Ding!

Another message came in.

‘The Master’s birthday is next week. You and the Master have not met for more than seven years. The Master truly wishes to see you. In addition, the Master has announced that you are his heir.’

“Hehe… go home?” Sean chuckled softly with an indifferent gaze. Then he replied to the text message.

‘Since he allowed Natasha, that slut, to harm my mother until she died, the Diningrat family has nothing to do with me.’

‘But it’s fine if he wants me to return. I have one condition, tell him to cut off Natasha’s head for me!’

Sean then took a large step forward, his posture straight. Sean felt extremely angry; he deeply hated his father.

“Me? Returning to the Diningrat Residence? Haha, that’s nothing but a nightmare!”

Suddenly, Sean’s phone rang.

As soon as the call connected, Mega’s irritated voice came from the other end. “Sean, where have you been? Andini’s illness suddenly relapsed. Do you know that? Didn’t I tell you to take care of Andini at the hospital? Why did you go out at a time like this?” It was like a bolt of lightning on a clear day.

Sean snapped back to reality and spoke into the phone. “I’ll go there immediately.”

Sean was extremely panicked. He did not explain much and immediately hailed a taxi by the roadside. His emotions were in chaos, but his hand was still tightly holding the luxurious-looking cake box. It was Andini’s favorite food. Andini had been asking for it for a long time. He must not let Andini feel disappointed!

In front of the patient room door, before Sean could properly catch his breath from panic, he received a hard slap from a beautiful woman. Mega Litari, Sean’s wife. She had a beautiful face, a tall, fair, and smooth body, with long hair cascading down.

Even though their daughter was already six years old, she still looked as beautiful as a twenty-year-old girl. Her body looked perfect and more mature. However, Mega’s face was now full of anger.

“Sean, honestly! You’ve really disappointed me!”

Sean could not say a word. He only lowered his head in guilt. “Where is Andini? How is her condition?”

“You, you still have the heart to ask about Andini’s condition? Andini’s illness relapsed for several minutes before the doctor managed to help her. If it had been even one minute later, Andini’s life would have been lost!” Mega pointed at Sean’s nose and said angrily, “Fortunately, Andini’s illness is under control. Otherwise, I would never forgive you!”

After learning that his daughter’s condition was stable, Sean felt relieved. Andini was his beloved daughter. He wanted Andini to live a healthy life more than anything else. If possible, he was even willing to trade his own life for Andini’s health.

At that moment, two women appeared from behind Mega. Sean naturally recognized both of them. They were his mother-in-law and his sister-in-law.
