ログインBella.
My throat was sore, and my chest ached badly because I cried all night. I got up to get ready for another chance in my life before Valerie called again. “I'm ready,” she uttered. It's been a while, but I never thought I would keep such a thing away from my best friend. Considering what she was going through, I bid my issues goodbye. I promised to keep everything to myself without letting her find out. “You can come pick me up from the house. " I had to clear all the bills and I couldn't sleep on time,” I uttered icily, giving her a reason to come get me. “Why do you sound so sad? I'm going to settle the loans for the time we've lost. " I just can't bring myself to be with Alex,” she assured with a sharp tone. “It's okay. " I understand, and I won't get in the way of your decision,” I assured, also making me promise myself that I wouldn't stop her. I panicked about myself, but I was very sure I didn't want to abort my child. I was so unlucky to not have a sibling and the universe sent me a baby? And I wanted to take it out? No. I didn't know how I was going to do so, but I believed there was going to be a way out of it. Some minutes later, Bella came to pick me up. I masked my face with a wide grin, as she walked towards me. “Are you feeling better?” I asked softly, placing my hands on her shoulder. She quickly tossed my hands off her shoulders. “I'm not going to feel better till I end all of this,” she angrily replied and walked briskly into the car. I felt a bit embarrassed by her actions, but I also had to know it was not the perfect time for such. We drove down to a magnificent mansion that made me so curious, “Is this his house?” I asked, with my mouth wide open. “Yeah, I'm tired. Who wouldn't fight to steal this from me?” She retorted angrily. I walked behind her as we entered the mansion, and the aura I got from staring at each side of the mansion made me curious to know more about who this person was. “I knew you'd come!” His voice raided my head, and I stopped at that moment. “Alex, if you're not ready to be committed, why did you pin me down with a ring?” Valerie gnawed. “A diamond ring?” He retorted, defending himself boldly. “You are seeing a lot of women, and you want me to remain loyal to you?” She sighed while looking away. I stood silently as I buried my head while facing the ground. There was so much familiarity in his voice that I could only hear his voice and not Valerie’s. I was there, but my attention was stolen by my thoughts. “I'm done with you. You don't love me as you said,” Valerie angrily threw the ring at Alex. I raised my hand quickly to stop my best friend, but I got a clear glance of Alex and I froze. The first thing I saw was the same tattoo. “AB.” I muttered silently as I squinted my eyes to have a good look. Alex scoffed, and picked up the ring. I stared at his chiseled jawline, his perfectly trimmed beards and broad chest. “You are her best friend, yeah?” He leaned forward and I was weak in the knees. Alex, my best friend’s ex-fiance, was the man I was with that night? I blinked a couple of times to have some clarity, to be sure it was no dream. “Y-yes, yes…” I stammered, as I trembled within. I shook my head repeatedly as we stood facing each other, yet I couldn't say a word. “Are you okay?” He asked, and touched my arm. My lips were tightened to a line as my heart fell into my stomach. “I came to return the cheque and other monetary value as the event planner?” I looked away as my frustration began to wander with fear. I dropped everything on the gold-plated table beside him, in preparation to leave. My hands shook as I grabbed my handbag, preparing to walk away from the one thing that made me happy, but as a mistake. “...and the loans?” he asked, with so much concern. I stopped and turned, giving him a straight gaze. “Don't worry about them,” I replied coldly. I was disappointed and at that point, I understood Valerie. He slept with me that night, yet he couldn't remember who I was. This must have happened with other women as well. “My reputation is at stake here. My business would be greatly affected. I can't risk it,” he uttered, as his throat tightened. “So?” I asked icily. “Pretend to be my wife,” his eyes flicked as he stared at me. “What?” I mouthed silently as I saw him stretch out the same ring Valerie threw at him. “Yes, I'm serious. I know about you already. You are struggling with your business, and you are trying so hard to pay off huge amounts of loans,” he confessed and I felt like my problems were already known to many. “I will never cause you to lack and all you have to agree with me is to be my wife. You will pay your loans, and your business will be back on track,” he added. It felt like I was given a white paper to write down my wishes, but I didn't have a pen. “I won't do that,” I replied shabbily, and I attempted to walk out. “Bella, be my contract wife!” He roared, and I froze as the words were repeated in my head. I turned and faxed at him with tears in my eyes as fear gnawed on me. I couldn't leave without making a decision. At that point, I realized the love I had for my best friend was tested perfectly. However, I hated the feeling and the struggle I had with my father's demise, my business failures, and paying off loans with my horrible finances. My pregnancy and future slurred at me. Alex walked towards me and went on his knees with the ring in his hands. His eyes glowed as he stared at me. He grabbed me gently, and his Adam's apple bobbed, “Bella Anderson, please be my contract wife.”Bella“You are getting married?” Valerie was in the middle of the crowd smiling. She walked towards me and I felt my heart falling into my stomach. “Va-Va,” I tried to mutter a few words, but she interrupted. “ You don't have to be audible right now. I know how hard it could be for you to be doing what you're doing. “What are you doing, Valerie?” I could finally ask. My eyes were covered with tears and I could feel the heaviness of the ring Alex wore on my middle finger.“Congratulations, yeah? I think that's the right thing to say to you right now. You are amazing,” she added, smiling too, with tears in her eyes. When I looked around, I realized I couldn't fumble. I realized that at this point, it was my right to stand against whatever she was going to do. I mean, everyone was watching, and my heart couldn't stop racing. I needed something better to happen. “Move away from my wife!” Alexander's voice was loud and charismatic. He moved towards me and stood in front of me. He was
Bella I wanted what he wanted, because all it reminded me of was the first night we met. The first night he was with me. My heart fluttered as he ran his fingers on my skin as it sent bolting goosebumps all over my body. “Alex…” I paused, catching my breath, “You have to stop.” It didn't sound like I was irritated because the look in his eyes made me want it even more. It was subtle because I couldn't forget the first night we spent together. “I can't,” he replied, pouring the alcohol stench on my face. It was the first time seeing him in his drunk state—he behaved totally differently. The harsh side of him disappeared. My heart was pounding, but I knew by myself I had to make the right decision, no matter how rough it was going to be on me. I didn't want him to get pissed off. “You are drunk,” I uttered, pulling him to myself to get him on the bed. I ended my fantasy so quickly too. I remembered I was pregnant and the father of my unborn child had no idea about its existence.
Bella“You are now my wife, and I would appreciate it if you followed everything I have mentioned.” He replied again. I stood still, like I was frozen because I realized I had signed the contract without reading. I didn't even bother going through what I scribbled my signature on. “When would I get my copy of the contract papers?” I asked coldly, and he turned to me.“And what…what would you need that for?” he asked, ignoring my question. “Tell me if I will get my copy or not…” I retorted fiercely. I had nothing to lose anymore. I didn't read what was on those papers and after placing my signatures, the only favor I could do myself was reading it. He was surprised at my reply. I mean, I looked timid. It almost felt like I could not speak if I had nothing to offer other than the name of being his wife or being called Mrs Blackwood. “You'll get it after the Court marriage tomorrow,” he smirked, taking wide steps towards me. “Court marriage? Valerie… She will find out,” I replied a
Alexander I could be the devil, but I had some conscience in me. For years, no one ever cared if I knew my side of the story because money spoke for me. It bothered me, because I have always wanted to say the truth myself. My passion for women is one, and my loyalty to one is another task entirely. I couldn’t do it until I met Valerie. I could see her flaws each and every time I didn’t have good times with her, but that was not the problem—I fell in love with those flaws. Each time I turned to her best friend with the ring I got for Valerie, it felt like I fed my curiosity.“Have you made your decision yet? You have been quiet since you came here, and that’s not how it works,” I uttered rudely. I tried my best to be nice to her. She was probably doing everything in her might to clear her late father’s debts. She turned and looked at me. I had no emotions to give back so I looked away. “It’s a very important decision and I know you really want the answer, but I need more time…”
Bella My heart flipped like a million coins that were tossed in the air as I walked toward the door. I was overthinking it, but I was ready to take the risk of going to the door. Could it be Valerie? I mean, I tried to make her consider going back to her cheating ex. It was something worth getting angry about, especially if it was coming from her best friend. I took a deep breath and pulled the door handle to myself. To my surprise, there was no one outside. Instead, it was a sealed box with a lock. I was amused, yet afraid. I carefully picked up the box and closed the door. A lot of things crossed my mind, but the only thing that bothered me was the debt. I was so stunned to imagine if it was the letters from the lawyers which would mean me leaving the house. The only place where my childhood memories were embedded. I was scared, and that fed my curiosity. I started checking what it could be. After pulling the sea off the box, I realized that I couldn’t get any information for
Bella“Aren’t you ashamed? You don’t even care about the fact that I’m her best friend!” I wailed angrily. Deep down, all I need was a better route to escape my problems. The offer was indeed golden, but why did it have to come from him? Why did he have to be the one to ask for such a delusional favor?“Are you actually going to give me an answer? Or you’re going to go back with all the baggage of problems waiting for you back at the home you might probably sell?” Alex replied. I was stunned. For a man who has such wealth,I should never have been shocked to know he did a background check on me. “This is hard…” I muttered to myself while holding my abdomen. My unborn child…I was not only trying to pay the loans by being his contract wife, but I was about to give my unborn child a future. I was standing on the edge of a lot, and it was indeed a heavy one for me. “Bella… I need to cover up for myself. I need to save my reputation. You have to pay those loans…” he sounded so true to
