Chapter 6

                                ~~~    Alice's Point Of View    ~~~
"Jackson! Go faster! They are following us with two cars!" I say looking behind me at the two black cars.
"I am trying!" he yells at me not looking back,
"Then try harder Jack!" I yell back. I look down to check on Cyrus and he's passed out.
"Shit," I mumbled checking his pulse.
"What?" Sally turned around,
"We need to go to Dr. Harlod, Jack," I say tears appearing in my eyes. Dr. Harlod is Sally's cousin. He graduated with a doctorate degree. He graduated about a year ago and started working in the biggest hospital in Goldfinch.
          When we get to the hospital, it is pretty busy so the black cars aren't behind us anymore. I am sure they have given up on us and probably won't follow us anymore.
      Sally gets off the car to get her uncle so he would take care of him in the car. While she does that, we hid the gun from anyone's sight.
"So where did you say he got the gun from?" Jack says looking at me confused,
"I don't know either, he didn't tell me," I say and it was true. He said he would explain later and never told me where it came from though I wanted to ask him the whole time we were together.
"Would you like to explain to me wha-" before Jack can finish, the door of the backseat swings open revealing Sally and Dr. Harlod with a first aid box.
"So what happened to him?" Dr. Harlod says once he is settled in the car and got to work,
"Uh... He accidentally hit a glass with a basketball and it broke and I guess cut his stomach?" I answer sounding it more like a question,
"Hmm..." is all he says before he gets to work. He pulls out a metal tool from the first aid box. He pulls the glass stuck deep inside his stomach with it. I shiver at the sight of it. Afterwards he pulls out a scary needle to stitch him up, I presume.  After a while of sitting there and watching Cyrus get stitched up, Dr Harlod packed his box and got out of the car after mumbling a 'be safe'.
        Not long after Dr Harlod got out of the car, Cyrus woke up. He tries to seat up but winces at the pain of his stitched stomach.
"It's better if you lay down Cyrus," I say helping his lay back down.
    He looks at his stomach and sighs. He lays back down with his head on my lap.
"You know, you two have a lot to explain," Jack says looking straight at the road which led to Cyrus's house.
"What do you want to know, Jack?" Cyrus chuckles looking at me,
"Everything. From where you guys disappeared to what happened to you two back there two where you got the gun from," Jack says trying to look at him in the rear mirror.
"Fine. We got kidnapped. In the morning, after you guys were gone, Alice and I were walking to class together. Then I don't know, I just felt uncomfortable so I turned around and surly there were two guys with masks following us. Then I told Alice to run and before I could move one of them caught me and suffocated me with what seemed like a napkin? And the other guy got Alice and did the same thing. Then I don't remember what happened after that because I guess we passed out. Then when I woke up, I was in this really white and bright room, and there was this guy in front of us who turned out to be Alice's uncle," both Sally and Jack gasp and look at me at that, "Yup, I found that out right before I killed him," Sally and Jack gasp more at that and look at him in horror making me chuckle, "Then he told us he was the silent man," Jack swerved and pulled over and turned around to look at him, again, in horror,
"You found the Silent Man?" Jack asked half not believing us,
"I don't believe him. He was pretty cool about it," Cyrus says
"Because he was going to kill us, C. Didn't you get it?" I say looking down at his face on my laps,
"No, I know that A. But I just, I don't know. He doesn't seem that deep and dark like the one that says he is the Silent Man," he explains,
"And the gun?" Jack says and we all chuckle at his enthusiasm,
"I stole it," Cyrus says and we look at him waiting for more explanation as that could not be the only explanation he got.
"Fine, god. I stole it from my dad's gun collection. He doesn't know about it. Neither would anyone else than you guys," he says in a warning, pointing at all of us, as we shook our heads.
"I took it just in case times like this happen, which it did. Thanks to me, if I didn't bring the gun, Alice and I would be dead by now," he says looking at me with those ocean blue eyes. It is right. He did save me and himself. If it wasn't for Cyrus, we would have been dead. He saved my life.
"You saved my life," I whispered looking at his piercing blue eyes. He smiles at that also looking right into my soul. And Ladies and Gentlemen, this is when I admit that I am officially in love with Cyrus Issac.
            When I notice that we are still parked on the side of the road, I look back and see what I hoped to never see again. Two cars, black, and large coming behind us.
"Jackson, start the car, they are still following us!" I yell at him and he swiftly starts the car and drives off to the road hitting the gas hard and driving it as fast as it could go while mumbling 'we're dead'.
