Keira POV "No...Augustine..." Before I finished my words, he turned me around by grabbing my shoulders. I assumed that he meant it when I peered into his lust-filled eyes. "Shh," He put his finger on my lips and rubbed it hard. "I told you that never say no to me." He flicked the loose hairs on my forehead. What is he doing? I can barely comprehend anything, and I am naked. When I realized this, I hurry to cover my breasts with my hands. When he saw what I had done, he narrowed his eyes and pushed me until my back banged on the wall. The cold wall made me tremble. He grabbed my hands, pressing them against the wall. I made an effort to get away from him, but his hands were immobile like a tree firmly planted in the ground. "I've been waiting for you in bed, but you're taking too long to wash." He leaned to me, putting his mouth on my ears. The marble wall was cold, but his lips were so hot that almost burn me. "I couldn't stop myself. You have to be mine." Augustine released one
Keira POV My eyes widened. Augustine says that he wanna wed the next week. I have no idea why he changes his mind. I'm not ready to get married, become a Luna of the pack, or how to answer the members' questioning that why I haven’t shifted. "Don't worry, I will set everything up." When he noticed how pale my face was, he bowed his head and kissed my forehead. I actually had a lot to say, but he made it clear by his unwavering tone and steely eyes that it was pointless. Augustine got up and changed his pants in the restroom. As I put on my clothing after grabbing them off the bed, I suddenly felt the impulse to run immediately. The shit secret, what Louis said when he turned to face the moon, and everything about Alpha that wasn't my will but yet needed to be done was all choking me. I instantly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep as he emerged from the bathroom. When he approached, I felt the other side of the mattress sink in and noticed a warm body heat moving toward me
Keira POV "Oh! I almost forget it!" Lynede got up, left the room, and then returned holding a gift, "Originally, I was planning to deliver it to you then, you should be at Alpha's by tomorrow, but I still want to be the first to give you a present. So... Happy 18th birthday, Keira!" "Thank you! Lynede! I am..." I gave her a deep hug while trying to hold back my tears. "Don't cry, girl! Open your gift now!" Lynede patted my back. I picked up her gift after wiping my tears away with the back of my palm. "When I saw your earrings at the ball, I believed you might like them." She gave me an expectant gaze. When I opened it, a diamond-studded star necklace attracted my attention. "I love it, thank you, Lynede! You are the one who knows me best." "Obviously, I know you, I still have your ugliest crying photo on my phone." She whispered to me. "Lynede, you still save it! I told you to delete that photo!" I shouted. It was a picture from two years ago when I was with Lynede and crying
Keira POV My entire body froze in place as the bags plummeted to the ground in my hands. What was he doing? The female elders would likely consent to anything if he showed up while dressed like this. "Before that, I'd like to watch you prepare food for me while wearing just one apron." Augustine narrowed his eye and knelt down and picked up the bags. I realized that I had actually said it out. I covered my lips and peered at him, he said nothing else and moved to the kitchen island. "Why are you dressed like this?" I pointed to his apron. "Because my original T-shirt unintentionally got sauce on it and ended up in the washing machine, I just put on the apron." He was chopping the cheese with great care while maintaining his downward gaze. "Are you cooking?" I asked him, walking next to him. I didn't realize he was also a master gourmet. "Uh yeah. Since this is a unique day." Augustine gave me a hint. "Hmm? What day is it special?" As I approached him, I noticed the opulent dish
Keira POV He placed a shot glass of negroni on the rocks and a liqueur I didn’t know on the balcony table, before going to get some fruit and straws. "What's this?" I asked when Augustine handed me the liqueur. "A good bartender keeps their special recipe a secret, baby." He murmured. "I can smell a rum, you really love rum, don’t you?" I spoke out loud. "Yeah, I really love rum," Augustine smiled but he stiffened for a second, "Do you know its name?" He added the whipped cream while stooping, then topped it with a cherry. "It is known as Angel's Kiss." He whispered, gazing into my eyes. The wind in the summer feels dreamlike, the feverish enthusiasm burns my eyes and stops my time. I pretended nothing had happened as I placed the glass to my lips and took a sip. "They are sweet and viscous!" I exclaimed, raising my head. "It's Kahlúa. Do you mind?" Augustine took a step closer to me. "What..." I blinked nervously. "I wanna taste." His deep voice was in the summer air, co
Keira POV He lifted my chin with his finger and I peered into his possessive eyes, "Remember to put your earrings on. You are welcome to use the bathtub whenever you like in my bathroom." Augustine then turned around and went away. He made me feel weird, sometimes I didn't know which was the real him. After taking a shower, I went to bed and had a dream that the earrings turned into locks that prohibited me from moving. I opened my eyes and I felt as though I was sitting in a grand room that opened to the forest as the sunshine streamed in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Augustine must have left to take care of the pack business because nobody was home when I came down the stairs but the living room and kitchen were tidy. I sat down on the couch and debated whether I should spend my days watching movies in this sun-drenched living room or go meet Lynede. I paused just before my phone rang, and it was Dylan. "Hello, Dylan." "Keira, I'm at a rehearsal for my friend's wedding, do
Keira POV Dylan's smile from earlier in the day vanished at the sound of my question, and the melancholy in his eyes took its place. Dylan sighed for a split second. He groaned, setting his cup down on the table. After some moments, he said, "Nothing, I merely realized that my childhood desire will never come true." "Why?" His eyes reminded me of a dead sea as I stared into them: calm, lifeless, and filled with desperation. Dylan ceased to talk. We were familiar with one another because we shared a childhood. He declined to tell me about his childhood aspirations, and I opted not to share the secret I had withheld from my brother. "This is the only thing I won't tell you." He murmured as the bartender poured him a Tennessee whiskey. "I promise, I have only one item I'm concealing from you too." I said as I held out my hand and winked, "But I still don't know why you cried when you told me you've shifted." "Same." He spoke but he didn't answer my last question. We exchanged glanc
Keira POV I remembered our argument when I was lying in bed. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. Despite tossing and turning, I didn't fall asleep until two in the morning. I was immobile in the dream because my arms were restrained by the algae, and I was buried in the sea while gasping for air. The water was getting warmer, and the weight of everything holding me down was gradually increasing. I felt like I was going to die from the oppressive heat and stifling sensation. When I opened my eyes, I noticed dark hair instead of algae. "Augustine?" I shouted, "What are you doing?" He ignored me as he leaned over me and buried his head between my breasts. I pushed his head. He seized my hands and pressed them on the bed without saying a word. His skin was so hot that it nearly hurt me. I became aware of his toplessness and the fact that my pajamas had been thrown to the ground at that time. Augustine stared at me, "Don't fight with me, puppy." "How'd you get in?" I h
