Chapter 4 He Would Surely Reject You!

Keira POV

"Lynede, come to the PARK cafe, I treat you to afternoon tea." I called her.

"Oh, you are sooo sweet! I will be there in one minute."

Five minutes later, Lynede showed up in the cafe.

"Hey, Keira!" She looked around and finally locked on me. "Tell me why you called me here, not for an afternoon tea, right?"

"Before I tell you, let's order something to drink first." I gave her a menu.

"A Lemon Tart and a Matcha latte. Thank you." Lynede said to the waiter and couldn't wait to ask me, "What happened?"

I paused and then questioned her, "I accidentally met a male with black hair in the bar. I mean, do you know who in our pack has black hair?"

"Black hair? As far as I'm aware, Kloss and our new Alpha both have black hair, and..."

"Oh my goodness, look who I met! My dear classmates!" We were rudely interrupted by Rhoda.

"Rhoda, shut up. No one wants to communicate with you." Lynede's eyes rolled back, and she had a repulsed expression.

"I'm the niece of the Alpha of Jupiter Pack, so don't speak to me in that manner. Bitch, be mindful of your tone." The menu was thrown on the table, and she shifted her gray wolf. With its ears raised and teeth showing in a low growl, her wolf made an offensive gesture toward us.

"You're the one who came to interrupt our conversation! Will you stop talking about your uncle for even a second?" Lynede stood up and her wolf immediately stepped in front of us for protection. Lynede's wolf was as big as Rhoda's, and with her dark brown fur burning like fire, it was hard to tell who would win.

Rhoda's wolf's eyes showed a desire to fight, and Rhoda sneered when he saw Lynede's wolf's actions, "I don't want to fight you because the result is obvious, isn't it? I heard you talking about our Alpha, so I need to warn you not to covet him. He will be mine, and I could be Luna!" She tossed back her blonde hair, smiled smugly, and stomped off to the door on her heels.

"Does she not realize that the Moon Goddess chooses Alpha's mate?" Lynede turned to me after gazing at her back and stated while sporting a perplexed expression.

Rhoda paused after hearing what Lynede said, turned to face us, and took another stride, "He would reject you even if one of you were his mate! Look what you get. A foolish wolf? And... I'm sorry, but it appears that someone is still WOLFLESS."

She turned her attention to me and added in a mocking tone, "Nobody wants a wolfless mate, let alone Alpha. Keira, keep in mind what I said; the Alpha will undoubtedly reject you."

She was telling the truth, so what could I argue with that? Lynede patted me on the shoulder after Rhoda left, "She's always been so mean, so disregard what she said. She's even imagining that she'll become Luna, and in my opinion, the moon goddess won't let her have her way."

"It's okay, she's trying to create my wounds, but I've been numb for a long time." I sighed.

"What was you asking about anyway? Keira?"

"Forget about it. Would you go to the Hunting&Dancing?" I gave up inquiring about the male. Rhoda was correct. The Puppy Lover had a 1% chance of becoming the Alpha, and there was a 50% possibility that he would reject me within this 1% chance. So why was I concerned? Just give him to those who enjoy fierce love.

The pull of your spouse is quite powerful, and even if you try to resist it, you will never be able to do so since the mate that the moon goddess selected for you is the other half of your soul. It may seem very simple, but in reality, it may be rather painful. You will never be at peace, never feel fulfilled, lose your love for the rest of your life, and you will constantly wake up at night and pace around like a ghost if you lose your soul mate. Therefore, not having a spouse is probably the best news for me right now because it would slightly improve my current circumstance for someone without a wolf.

"Yeah, sure. I will attend the dance party, that is the rule. Why?" Lynede took a sip of the coffee that just had been served, as if she thought of something in the aftertaste, she choked and exclaimed, "Don't tell me that you wanna hunt! Are you crazy?"

"Why not? Dylan promised me that he would take me to the forest. It must be very thrilling and exciting!"

"Dylan? Oh, you mean your neighbor? He really knows you! Have you ever thought that he might be your mate?"

"Lynede! He is my friend, and I haven't shifted yet..." My voice trailed off.

"Keira!" Lynede yelled out and passed the lemon tart to my mouth with a fork, "It tastes good."

Since she didn't want me to bring it up because it would make me unhappy every time, I stopped for a few minutes before opening my mouth and said, "Thank you, you are very sweet!" I mimicked her voice as I spoke.

I cast an envious glance at the wolf next to her, and when Lynede saw it, she added, "Aimee, say hello to Keira, she's my best friend; if she's in trouble later, you have to protect her."

Aimee approached me and gave me a couple of tail wags as a sign of goodwill. I raised my gaze to her and said to Elisa, "Can I touch her?"

"Yes, of course." Lynede made a shrug.

I tried to reach out my hand to see how she would react, and I gently touched her head." Wow, you're so beautiful!" I said.

She even lifted her head and licked my fingers in response to my compliment.

"That's certainly unusual. She doesn't care about anyone else, but when it comes to you, it's obvious she's smitten with your charms." Lynede yelled.

"Do you like me? Eh, Aimee. Good girl." I gently stroked her head.

When I got home, I lay on my bed and looked at the window in the ceiling, which was specially designed for me by my father at that time, he and my brother spent two days making it, in order that I could see the stars at night when I looked up. I stared at the stars and got lost in thought.

Since they shift at the age of 17, they are probably going to meet their mate. I haven't shifted yet, even though I'm about to turn 18. Nobody is aware of what's happening to me. Louis even talked about it with me, stating he wanted to make sure our parents in heaven weren't concerned. Since I was a young child, I have envisioned the appearance of my wolf as well as the color of her fur and the color of her pupils. For her to pick from, I even prepared three names. However, every birthday would push me farther into the pit of despair. I don't care anymore if I find my mate because even if he is here, I wouldn't know what to do. I can't recognize him, feel him, even say to him that you are my mate.

In the new Alpha's office, Stephen whispered, "I've called Dylan away, but it's hard to keep an eye on them all the time."

"It doesn't matter, I'll watch her." The voice was cold.

"Are you sure that you want to do it?"

"The old guys expect that the pack has a Luna." A beautiful little gift box and a tiny GPS tracker were on the table.

"But she is your mate." Stephen scowled.

"I won't fall in love with her, and I don't need a mate."

Stephen nodded because he had nothing to say. He walked out of the room and sighed, "What if she discovered that these were all fakes?"
