 It had gotten into the wee hours of the morning by the time Della got checked out and everyone got settled in. As hard as he tried, though, Caine just could not sleep. It had been two long weeks without Della and all he wanted to do was hold her. He understood that she had been traumatized, but he also knew first hand how much that they loved each other.

  Caine's anxiety finally got the best of him, so he quietly crept out of his bed and he tip toed as lightly as he could across the room and out of the bedroom door. He cautiously looked left and right before he crept across the hall and up to Della's bedroom door. He wanted nothing more than to lay next to her and to feel her breathe.
