Della and Queen Rebecca were having wine together privately in the Queen's rooms. Della tried to cheer her sister up, but she wasn't exactly sure yet about why she was so sad at the moment. Della was mid-sentence when a knock came at the door. She stopped what she was saying and got up to answer it. It was Caine, he didn't really say anything as he handed her the note that Cat had left for her, and he walked away.
Della looked a little confused as she read the note silently to herself, and then she looked up at her sister with big, sad, knowing eyes. Queen Rebecca couldn't hold it in anymore and her tears started to fall all on their own, as she stared at the floor in silence. Della could not believe the crap that she had just heard come from the man called Mister's mouth. Her eyes were wild and angry at the moment and her mind was in instant overdrive. Was he crazy? When the door was opened for Della to leave the room it was eerily quiet, too quiet for there to be a party going on. There were not even any house staff that could be seen. They stepped out of the study and looked from left to right. They were on the second floor hallway, looking down over the main living area of the castle. This place was oversized in every way. It looked like it had been built for giants. All the ceilings were two or three stories high, the doors were all heavy oak. They were giant and they were all carved with scenes that looked like they were taken straight from a very twisted story book.
