Recovering from her most recent rejection the night before, back at her ushering work, Vivian is framed for serving a contaminated drink to a famous billionaire and this causes her to lose her job and salary, then the same night Vivian is told her family has been kicked out of their house. To her surprise, the man they accused her of poisoning, Axel Brown, called her, wanting to talk to her, but did he really want to talk, or punish her for her mistake?

"Get lost!" The car driver yelled as I ran in front of him, rushing to meet my colleagues. Why? Cause I was stuck in my hell loop for hours, watching every man reject me over and over again.
As I entered the bus, my supervisor immediately lashed out at me, "Where have you been? Why on earth are you late?"
"I'm so sorry," I gasped, trying to catch my breath. "I overslept."
"Overslept, huh?" She scoffed. "You better get in and start preparing to work double time," she said with disgust written all over.
Feeling embarrassed and flustered, I rushed to my seat at the end of the bus with my head low and a racing heart from all the running.
We arrived at the venue shortly after and all the ushers dressed in red shirts and black pants filed in a straight horizontal line awaiting the orders of the supervisor.
"Vivian, you are in charge of drinks distribution and coordination. Under you are Cole, Meena, Jackson, and your other teammates." My supervisor announced.
"Drinks?" I mumbled to myself and smiled at the supervisor, trying to make her feel safe, even though I was out of breath and shocked.
As the event started, I settled into my post and watched everything carefully, not wanting any mistakes to happen, although my racing heart refused to calm down, and it felt like something bad was going to happen soon.
Suddenly, one of my teammates called out my name in a panicked tone. "Vivian! Vivian!! The drinks are not complete." He said in between pants.
"WHAT?!!" I screamed. "How can that be possible? I cross-checked the drinks, and they were more than enough. How could we have less than we counted?" I muttered, trying to keep my composure.
Without waiting for an explanation, I ran to the storeroom, and before I knew it I bumped into someone and stumbled backward.
Strong arms caught me before I could fall, and I looked up to see a tall and muscular man looking down at me with concern.
"Are you okay?" His deep voice filled my senses, causing me to forget my worries for a while.
"yes," I stammered. "Thank you," I said and headed to the storage room before the supervisor found out something was wrong.
After counting the drinks, I found that they were all there, and I realized that my teammates had forgotten to count the ones at the back, and luckily, it was complete. Those guys just wanted to play a stupid prank on me.
"She just fainted all of a sudden!" I heard someone yell from outside, followed by an uproar.
Confused, I stepped outside, and my gaze fell upon a beautiful lady with ginger-colored hair lying unconscious on the floor.
"Somebody call an ambulance!" A voice yelled as the others were trying different methods to make sure he remained alive. As to what exactly happened to the lady, no one knew and just as I was about to return to my stand post to make sure this had nothing to do with my team, I felt someone pull my hand back, and I immediately felt a sharp stinging pain radiate across my cheeks.
The whole room was shocked by the loud crack, then they turned around to look at what had transpired. I looked up and met my supervisor's hateful gaze.
"Why can't you do your job properly?" She asked through clenched teeth not minding the attention she called upon us.
''what have I done?" I asked in pain as I held my red cheek stained with her handprint.
"What did you do?" She scoffed. "Tell me, who served the drink to that lady?!" The supervisor shouted and I trembled on the spot.
"D-Drink? What lady?" I asked, perplexed. "I never served any drinks or ordered the drinks to be served to anyone. I was standing watching everyone, I swear." I answered truthfully, and before I knew it, another hit landed on my other cheek and I stumbled back again, feeling the metallic taste of blood in my mouth.
Everyone in the room stood there rooted to the ground gasping as they watched her slap me again.
"I can't believe she did that!" Someone said, and before I knew it, everyone was pointing accusatory fingers at me. Before I could say another word, my supervisor fired at me again.
"The lady was served juice made by our company! And should I remind you who's in charge of the team?!" The supervisor shouted, her eyes red with anger and I stood there stunned. "There was something allergic in the juice and now the lady is in the hospital battling for her life! HOW COULD YOU BE SO CARELESS?" She roared loud enough for the entire room to hear, and they all gasped, looking at me with disgust.
I stepped back, dropped to my knees, and held her feet to beg her, "I haven't ordered any drinks to be served yet, I swear. You have to believe me, please. I was standing guard to make sure there was no mistake till I was called to the store room," I said, crying profusely. "You can check the security footage. I didn't do it!"
"Pfft. What security footage? Answer me, Vivian. Who is in charge of drinks?" She asked, and I answered, "I am."
"So, I don't need to check it! The poor lady is lying there fighting for her life because of your incompetence!" She yelled and raised her leg and was about to send a kick straight into my abdomen before someone came to her and whispered a few words into her ear.
She adjusted her dress and stepped back, removing my hands from her feet. She cleared her throat before speaking, "Miss Vivian Hanson, YOU ARE HEREBY FIRED! Take your things and leave! If I were you, I would leave town 'cause if anything happens to her, you're done for!"
I looked up at my supervisor with red eyes from crying and swollen cheeks from her slaps.
"Please, ma'am. Don't fire me, please. I have no other place to go," I begged in tears as I saw her receding figure alongside Meena, who pointed her middle finger at me with a smile on her face.
I remained there, kneeling, crying, and begging before one of my teammates came to me and helped me up. "Sorry Vivian," she said as she supported me and helped me walk to the washroom where she dropped some ointment and makeup for me before she left.
I sat on the floor, my back against the door letting the tears stream down my face like an endless storm. Why did I have such bad luck? Why is everything always going sideways for me? Why did I have to be the first child with all the burdens?
In the silent bathroom, the ringing sound of my phone mixed with my sobs and I bent over to pick it up. It was my sister, Eunice.
"Big sister, where are you?" Eunice cried as I picked up the call.
"What's wrong?” I asked, trying to keep my emotions in place.
"Those old men came back tonight and sent us out of the house. We are standing outside under the rain and grandmother... I don't know how to say it but, she's not breathing properly.''
Vivian's POVThe next day, Sarah and I went to the bakery to see her friend. On the way, I couldn't stop admiring the city. It was bustling and busy but still somehow managed to look appealing. Immediately we stepped onto the street of the bakery, the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries travelled through the air and into my nostrils, making me hungry even though I had just eaten before stepping out of the house. I said a silent prayer to the goddess just before we stepped inside. I needed this job.Inside, the bakery was even better than outside as expected, it has a very beautiful feel to it and I just stood and took it all in. I could already imagine myself working here, surrounded by the delicious treats and smells."It's beautiful right?" Sarah smiled "Emily has done well with this space. Come on let's go find her" she said and I followed her as she headed to the back of the bakery, where a woman with an apron covered with flour greeted them. "Look who's making more treats
Vivian's POVThe day of my discharge finally came and I didn't know how to feel about it. I was finally going to be able to leave Kismet and go to Tondc to start my life afresh. I wondered if everytime it happened if I would always feel this nervous and scared. I mean, it wasn't the first time I was starting my life over.Janice had come in the previous day and helped me pack my belongings for the journey. I got lost in thought again as I looked around, trying to convince myself that I would be fine but how will I know that when I was not alone anymore. I have the twins to think about now too. We hailed down a taxi and entered it to the train station. I almost hid my head in shame as I watched Janice pay for everything. How was she so kind? I wasn't used to people being so kind and caring for me and I just wanted to repay her back for everything but I didn't have to means too. Yet.We got into the train and settled in for the journey because it promised to be a very long journey. Ton
Vivian’s POVA few days after the birth of the kids, life felt great, with Janice taking care of me and always bringing me food. She had explained to me how she had found me. Apparently, the group of women I had seen pointing at me while I walked home that afternoon, had seen a poster that Janice had made when she realized that I had gone missing and they informed her right away. She had already gotten news from someone else that had seen me on the streets so she was already in town when the women informed her and she came rushing. I wondered what would have happened if she had not come to look for me that night.I was so grateful but deep down I knew that I had to start thinking of a way I was going to handle my situation because things were not going to be like this forever. One afternoon, just as I had finished feeding the kids and putting them to sleep, the door opened and in came Janice,“Hey there my love” she greeted, setting the black bag she was carrying on a table “How are
Vivian's POVThe contractions were not as bad as I expected and that was because it was only the beginning of my labor and in a normal circumstance, it would have been the perfect time for me to have started my journey to a hospital but that was not even a possibility because I had no money for a hospital. I looked around me, it was dark already so I just had to bear the contraction pain till dawn and maybe get a passerby to help me deliver the babies.I felt the tears well up in my eyes but closed it and tried to get some sleep. I would need the energy when it was time to push the kids out but it didn't take more than a few minutes before I felt a very sharp pain. This was not merely a contraction but a warning. I had tried to ignore the previous ones, hoping they would stop until dawn but now, I knew I couldn't deny it any longer. I was in full time labor.I felt my chest contract with panic as I looked around, it was dark and I was alone, there was no how I was going to find anyone
Elizabeth's POVI blinked once to clear my eyes, opened them and then blinked again but the image before me remained and did not change. One minute I was paying for my groceries at the store's counter and the next minute, Vivian was standing right in front of me just very further away. Was I hallucinating? Cause I had taken a lot of alcohol before stepping out but a third blink of my eye revealed that I was not and she was indeed standing before me.The moment froze while our eyes met and the anger in me at her, for everything she had done before her disappearance and after especially Axel's behavior towards me, all came rushing to the surface and what more the fact that she was pregnant? I thought the news was that she lost the baby? But that was a lie obviously. I was going to kill her. I had to. I quickly signalled to my bodyguards and pointed to her "Get her" I commanded and I watched as she turned swiftly on her feet and dashed off. She was too fast considering that size of her s
Vivian's POVGoing from my new house to the hospital was not much of a hassle because there was a bus stop right in front and the fare was not a lot at all. I was happy with my life. I was glowing, my stomach was growing. Everything was just perfect and I was reveling in it until one evening.I had just finished my shift and was heading back home. My plan had been to take the bus but since I hadn't properly exercised in a few days, I made a last minute decision to walk home. On my way, I stopped by at a small store to buy some fruits and just as I was making a turn towards the counter, I stopped dead in my tracks and held back a gasp because standing right there at the counter was someone I had not expected to ever see in my life ever again. Elizabeth. What was she doing here? Inside the store? In town and even in the country? Had she come to find me so she could finish me off herself since Axel failed in doing that by himself? The only thing my brain was screaming to me was to run b
