  Isabel was taking her usual evening stroll and she tried as best as she could to avoid going to places where she knew that she could run into anybody familiar that wasn't a guard or a servant. 

To be precise, she was actually trying to avoid running into Adrian just like she had been doing successfully for almost two weeks now.
