Early the next morning my mate went to check on Nicholas. The doctor had to sedate him again last night. It seems as soon as it gets dark he starts to become frantic. One of the other women who was with him told us that at night one of the rogues would knock him out with chloroform to keep him quiet while they were moving. I shudder when I think of what those women went through. Some were sold to the rogues, and some were taken in the night. Some watched their whole families get murdered and their pack burn.

And that didn’t even begin to describe their ongoing abuse. The ‘lucky’ ones were sold to other packs...and some were kidnapped and delivered to other packs for a fee. Others started out as human and were turned when it got to be too hard to attack a pack.
