I woke up in my own room, the events of earlier playing in my mind like a nightmare. I had driven a sword into my own chest, but I had been careful. The wound was deep enough to look fatal, yet shallow enough to keep me breathing. I had feigned death perfectly, fooling them all into thinking I was gone.

Or so I thought.

Pain throbbed violently in my chest, and fresh blood still seeped through the bandages, staining the sheets red.

“Miss Fyr, what you did was incredibly dangerous,” my maid whispered, her hands trembling as she tried to clean the wound.

“It was the only way,” I gritted out, clutching my aching chest.

“I bought us time. But I can’t stay here. If he finds out I’m alive… he won’t just kill me. He will make me wish I was dead. I have to leave the city tonight.”

Just as we spoke, a faint movement caught my eye. A shadow stood motionless behind the slightly open door, listening.

“Who’s there?” I demanded, forcing my voice to sound steady despite the fear clutching my heart.

Silence was my only answer.

Then—BAM!

The door flew off its hinges with a single, powerful kick. Dust filled the air as he stepped inside.

“Hello, Fyr.”

Demi Shire stood there, a dark, terrifying smile playing on his lips. His eyes were pitch black, void of any light or mercy.

“M-Mr. Demi…” I stammered, my blood running cold.

My maid screamed, but he silenced her with a single, sharp kick, sending her crashing into the corner.

“Are you crazy?!” I shrieked, scrambling backward on the bed.

“Crazy?” He tilted his head, grinning wickedly.

“Or were you the one trying to deceive me?”

He walked closer, his large hand gently tracing the line of my hair, his touch light but terrifying.

“No one escapes me,” he whispered.

“What do you want from me?” I looked him straight in the eye, refusing to show how terrified I truly was.

“I want you to suffer every kind of pain this world has to offer,” he replied, his voice low and dangerous.

“Sharp as a knife. Deadly as poison.”

“Then just kill me!” I smiled bitterly, tears stinging my eyes. “End it now!”

“Death?” He chuckled darkly.

“Death is too kind for a sinner like you. You don’t deserve mercy.”

Suddenly, he grabbed me and threw me over his broad shoulder like I weighed nothing.

“Put me down!” I screamed, kicking and struggling wildly.

“I said put me the fuck down!”

Without warning, he released his grip.

THUD!

I crashed hard onto the cold marble floor. The impact sent a jolt of agony through my back and chest, making me gasp for air.

“You are a monster!” I spat out, coughing.

“Monster?” He looked amused, his eyes glinting with madness.

“Oh, Fyr… you haven’t seen anything yet. Let me show you exactly what kind of monster I am.”

He signaled his men. One of them stepped forward and tossed a small glass bottle onto the floor near me.

“What is that?” My heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird.

“Something to make you feel… good,” he said, picking it up and walking toward me. “Drink.”

I shook my head frantically, tears streaming down my face. I refused.

His expression turned cold. He grabbed my jaw firmly, his fingers digging into my skin, forcing my head up. His eyes bore into mine, full of rage and possession.

He pinched my mouth open, ignoring my struggles, and poured the liquid down my throat along with bitter wine.

“Ghk—!” I choked, trying to spit it out, but he held me tight, forcing every drop down.

My vision instantly began to blur. The room spun wildly, the edges turning black. My body felt heavy, numb, and hot all at once.

As my consciousness started to fade, the last thing I saw was his cruel, satisfied smile.

Even as my consciousness slipped away, I was still aware.

I felt rough, coarse ropes being wrapped around my wrists, binding them tightly together. Then, my ankles were secured, leaving me completely helpless. My body felt heavy, limp like a ragdoll, but my mind was screaming in panic.

This is it.

He didn’t kill me. He didn’t end my suffering there and then.

He kidnapped me.

He wanted me alive. He wanted me breathing so he could inflict every ounce of pain he desired. I was trapped in the hands of a devil, and there was no one to save me.

As I was lifted and carried away into the unknown, one terrifying thought echoed in my fading mind

I am completely at his mercy now.

And the worst part?

I didn’t fucking know what horrors were waiting for me.

“Dad, let’s open it together.” I turned to my father, a dark, dangerous smile curling on my lips. “Don’t worry. This gift will be everything you want… like father, like daughter, after all.” I set the ornate velvet box right in the center of the hall, every eye in the room glued to it. “Ladies and gentlemen, before I unwrap my present, there’s someone I’d like to bring out first—my mother’s little secret lover.” I flicked my hand, and Demi’s men dragged a bound, trembling man forward, shoving him hard to his knees. “Look closely. This is Kean. My ex-boyfriend. The bastard who fucked my stepmother right under our roof.” My voice was cold, sharp as a blade. “My father treated him like his own son, gave him every single thing he ever had… and this is how he repays us? Stabbing us in the back like the filthy rat he is.” Kean sobbed, groveling, pressing his forehead to the marble floor begging for mercy. “Fyr, please! I’m sorry, let me go, I swear I’ll never do it again—” I

The air in the ballroom was thick with the scent of expensive cologne and cheap lies. Hundreds of the city’s elite had gathered to celebrate my father’s 50th birthday, but their attention wasn't on him. It was on the man at my side."That’s Alexus Cloud’s daughter," someone whispered, the sound cutting through the orchestral music. "The daughter of the legendary Executioner... and she’s walking in on the arm of Demi Shire.""A lamb leading a wolf," another muttered. "Does Cloud know he’s powerless against a monster like Shire?"I kept my chin high, my hand resting on Demi’s sleeve. Let them whisper. They saw a captive bride I saw a weapon. Demi had promised me a month of freedom if I proved I had a heart of stone tonight. And I was hungry for the hunt. Before the main event, I found her in the powder room. My stepmother. To the world, she was the "Gilded Lady," a portrait of loyalty and grace. To me, she was the parasite that had infested my home."Hi, Mom," I said to her refle

Logically, I know Demi had every right to leave me rotting in the streets, to let me die like the worthless criminal everyone believed I was. But I never expected him to pull me back from the edge of death. And for that… I am grateful, even if gratitude tastes like ash in my mouth.“Thank you for saving me,” I whispered, refusing to meet his eyes. My throat felt tight, heavy with fear, but I forced myself to gather every shred of courage I had left. “Please… let me go. I need to tell my father the truth. I need to tell him his wife has been betraying him all along.”“I promise I won’t run,” I added, my voice trembling, terrified that one wrong word would turn Demi into the very devil everyone feared. He reached out, his fingers gripping my chin hard, forcing my head up until I had no choice but to look into his dark, unreadable eyes.“That time will come,” he said, his voice low, deep, and laced with a threat that sent ice down my spine. “Wait for it.”Then he turned and left, locki

"What are you doing here?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “It’s already midnight.”“Your father is busy handling other matters,” Demi replied, a dark, sinister smirk playing on his lips. He reached out and freed my wrists, which had been bound above my head. “But rest assured... the show has officially begun.”I let out a bitter, hollow laugh. “What now? Are you finally going to kill my stepmother and Kean?” I asked, deep down secretly wishing he would say yes.Instead of answering, he pulled me roughly to my feet. “Are you ready?” he asked, his smile twisting into something demonic, as if darkness itself had possessed him. I nodded, my heart already pounding with dread.“You didn’t bring any guards?” I noticed the empty surroundings. “No one to lead the way?”“Don’t worry,” he said coldly. “They won’t watch. This performance is for our eyes only.”We walked silently through the mansion, ascending the stairs toward the second floor. My legs felt heavy as we stopped in front of

  • The Devil Mafia Captive Bride   Chapter 8 His Touch

I sat alone in the quiet garden, the cool breeze doing nothing to soothe the burning ache in my chest. Tears streamed down my face unchecked, each drop a testament to the betrayal I had just endured. Kean’s rejection had cut deeper than any knife. He was supposed to be my savior, my love, yet he had left me to rot. And now, I could almost hear it—the sound of Demi’s triumphant, evil laughter echoing in my mind. He knew. He knew I would fail. This was my only chance to escape, and it was gone. Just like that. "All you ever do is cry." That deep, cold voice came from behind me, sending a shiver down my spine. Demi stepped into my view, his presence dominating the space around him. "Let me guess," he sneered, looking down at me with dark, mocking eyes. "He never wanted to run away with you, did he? Is this what you call love? It looks more like cowardice to me." "I never imagined someone like you would admire bravery," I whispered, my voice trembling. He tilted his head, a cruel

The morning light had barely touched the room when the door burst open with a violent crash. I was still curled in bed when Demi stormed inside, his presence heavy and suffocating. "It is already eight o'clock, and you are still lying there?" he snapped, his eyes burning with that familiar, terrifying rage. I sat up slowly, stretching my stiff back. Every movement sent a dull ache through my muscles. "My body still hurts," I whispered, hoping for even a shred of mercy, though I knew it was useless to ask. "Then why didn't you say so last night?" His voice was low, deep, and dangerous. I looked at him, a bitter smile touching my lips. "Even if I had told you, would you have believed me?" "No," he answered instantly, stepping closer. "Remember your place. You are my captive bride. And I am far from finished with you." He turned sharply toward the door. "Get ready. We are leaving." "Where?" I asked, but he ignored me, walking away without a single word. I dressed in a simple
