I am Fyr Cloud.

I am the eldest daughter of the prestigious Cloud Family. My mother passed away when I was young, leaving my father, the most renowned Executioner in the city, to raise me. People feared him. They bowed to his authority.

But fear is a funny thing.

No matter how powerful my father was, no matter how many lives he held in his hands, his power was nothing compared to the monster who ruled this city.

Demi Shire.

They called him the Devil in human skin. Ruthless. Merciless. A man who killed without blinking and ruled with an iron fist.

And today... that devil had come to our door.

His beloved bride was dead. Killed in what they called an accident, but the grief had turned his heart into ash and his mind into pure rage. He blamed the entire city. And unfortunately, the trail of evidence led straight to our doorstep.

Our mansion was surrounded by his assassins. Not a single window was left unwatched. My father and I stood frozen, our bodies trembling beneath his terrifying gaze. We knew one thing for certain: Demi Shire did not just kill people. He destroyed them.

“Tell me,” his voice boomed, low and dangerous, his jaw tight with barely contained fury. “Who killed my bride?”

“None of us did!” my stepmother shrieked, her voice cracking in terror. “We had nothing to do with it!”

But her words meant nothing to him.

His cold eyes locked onto her, and a cruel smirk touched his lips. “If no one confesses by the time I finish counting... I will mount every single one of your heads on spikes in the streets.”

I dared to steal a glance at my boyfriend, Kean Cruz, standing nearby. He was shaking violently, a gun pressed directly against his temple. His eyes begged for help, and my heart shattered.

I knew what I had to do.

“I will count,” Demi announced, his voice like ice. “And if no one steps forward... you are all doomed.”

One...

Two...

THREE—

“It was me!”

My voice pierced the silence, shaking and weak, but it was enough. I stepped forward, my legs feeling like jelly. I had no choice. I loved my family. I loved Kean. If I didn’t take the blame, we would all die here today.

Slowly, deliberately, Demi Shire walked toward me. The sound of his boots against the floor was like a countdown to my death. He drew his sword—a legendary blade passed down from his ancestors, sharp enough to cut through steel.

“Do you know this sword?” he whispered, his eyes pitch black and empty. A devilish smile curved his lips upwards. “Today, I am going to use it to end your life.”

“How did you kill her?” he demanded.

“I... I saw her lying on the road,” I lied, my hands ice cold and my voice trembling. “I tried to help her, but she was terrified. She panicked... and in the confusion, I accidentally pushed her into oncoming traffic.”

“Daughter! No!” My father fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. “You killed no one! Please, stop this lie!”

“I’m sorry, Father,” I said, my voice hoarse and breaking. “But that is the truth.”

Demi said nothing. He simply pressed the sharp tip of the blade against my chest, right over my heart.

I didn’t flinch. Instead, I grabbed his hand and drove the sword forward myself, piercing my own flesh.

Blood bubbled up my throat, warm and metallic.

“Is this enough?” I gasped, looking him straight in the eye. “You have your culprit. Now... spare my family.”

He looked at the blood staining his blade, then back at me.

And then... he smiled. A smile so dark it sent chills down my soul.

“You think so?”

Darkness claimed my vision. My body went limp, and I fell. As the world faded to black, the last thing I heard was his voice, commanding his men with absolute certainty:

“She cannot die.”

I didn’t understand what he meant then.

But little did I know... death would have been a mercy compared to what he had planned for me.

I sat alone in the quiet garden, the cool breeze doing nothing to soothe the burning ache in my chest. Tears streamed down my face unchecked, each drop a testament to the betrayal I had just endured. Kean’s rejection had cut deeper than any knife. He was supposed to be my savior, my love, yet he had left me to rot.And now, I could almost hear it—the sound of Demi’s triumphant, evil laughter echoing in my mind. He knew. He knew I would fail. This was my only chance to escape, and it was gone. Just like that."All you ever do is cry."That deep, cold voice came from behind me, sending a shiver down my spine. Demi stepped into my view, his presence dominating the space around him."Let me guess," he sneered, looking down at me with dark, mocking eyes. "He never wanted to run away with you, did he? Is this what you call love? It looks more like cowardice to me.""I never imagined someone like you would admire bravery," I whispered, my voice trembling. He tilted his head, a cruel smirk p

  • The Devil Mafia Captive Bride   Chapter 6 The Bitter Kiss

Early evening found me alone in the guest room of his mother’s penthouse. No one dared to come near me. After what happened earlier, fear was painted on everyone’s faces. They kept their distance, afraid that I would bite them too.But I wasn’t hiding. I was listening. From the staircase, I heard voices drifting up from the living room.“Mom, how is my wife doing?” Demi asked. I could hear the amusement in his tone. He probably imagined me crying, broken, and begging for mercy.“She is a monster!” Kaye spat out, her voice full of rage.“She is completely ill-mannered!” Stella added sharply. “She actually bit the maid’s neck! Drawing blood!”I imagined Demi sitting there, his jaw tightening. I thought for sure he would be angry that I caused a scene, that I embarrassed his family. I thought he hated me even more now.But instead… he laughed.A deep, genuine laugh. And for a fleeting second, I thought he looked handsome—dangerously so—when his eyes lit up with that kind of dark satisfa

  • The Devil Mafia Captive Bride   Chapter 5 The Gate of hell

After the forced wedding, something strange happened.Demi Shire had every right to treat me like his property, to demand anything he wanted from me. But he never touched me. He never forced me to do anything against my will.I sat on the edge of the bed in silence, watching him as he removed his jacket and loosened his tie.For a moment, I thought I understood him.He was a man broken by grief. He had lost the love of his life, and now he was drowning in revenge. He married me not out of love, not out of desire, but because he wanted me trapped in his palms. He wanted me to live under his shadow, to pay for a crime I didn't commit. There was no way out now. Even if I wanted to escape, where would I go? How could I run from a man who owned the entire city?“Sleep early,” he said casually, tossing his tie onto the chair. “Tomorrow, you will enter the gates of hell.”I froze. “What gates of hell?”He looked at me, his smile fading completely, leaving only cold darkness in his eyes.“You

The night felt endless.I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, my mind spinning in circles. A wedding gown. Exactly the same as he requested. Why?Was he marrying someone else? But why would he care if my bruises healed? Why bring me food and force me to get better just for someone else’s wedding?Or… was this another twisted part of my punishment? The next morning, the door unlocked.Demi walked in. He wasn’t alone. Behind him were two women holding a long, white garment box. They placed it carefully on the bed and opened it.My breath hitched in my throat. It was the most beautiful wedding gown I had ever seen. Pure white silk, intricate lace, and diamonds that sparkled like stars. But it wasn’t just any dress. It was elegant, hauntingly familiar… and it looked exactly like the one his dead bride was supposed to wear.“Put it on,” Demi commanded coldly, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.“What?” I trembled, pulling the sheets closer to my body. “Why? Why would I w

The morning sun did nothing to warm me.I woke up in agony, every muscle in my body screaming in protest. As my eyes fluttered open, my blood ran cold.I wasn’t lying down. I was hanging from the ceiling.A thick rope was looped around my neck and body, holding me suspended in mid-air. My toes barely touched the surface of a single wooden chair beneath me. One wrong move. One kick. And I would be choking to death instantly. To make matters worse, the rough fibers dug directly into my wound, reopening it and sending sharp waves of pain through my chest.Across the room, Demi Shire sat comfortably in a leather armchair, sipping his coffee as if watching a morning show.“You’re going to hang me?” I whispered, my lips pale and dry.“I enjoy watching you suffer,” he replied calmly, blowing a ring of smoke into the air. He leaned back, looking utterly relaxed. He smiled darkly, “If you manage to survive the ninety-nine ways of torture I have prepared for you… then maybe, just maybe, I will

  • The Devil Mafia Captive Bride   Chapter 2 Kidnapping her

I woke up in my own room, the events of earlier playing in my mind like a nightmare. I had driven a sword into my own chest, but I had been careful. The wound was deep enough to look fatal, yet shallow enough to keep me breathing. I had feigned death perfectly, fooling them all into thinking I was gone. Or so I thought. Pain throbbed violently in my chest, and fresh blood still seeped through the bandages, staining the sheets red. “Miss Fyr, what you did was incredibly dangerous,” my maid whispered, her hands trembling as she tried to clean the wound. “It was the only way,” I gritted out, clutching my aching chest. “I bought us time. But I can’t stay here. If he finds out I’m alive… he won’t just kill me. He will make me wish I was dead. I have to leave the city tonight.” Just as we spoke, a faint movement caught my eye. A shadow stood motionless behind the slightly open door, listening. “Who’s there?” I demanded, forcing my voice to sound steady despite the fear clutching my
