After the forced wedding, something strange happened.

Demi Shire had every right to treat me like his property, to demand anything he wanted from me. But he never touched me. He never forced me to do anything against my will.

I sat on the edge of the bed in silence, watching him as he removed his jacket and loosened his tie.

For a moment, I thought I understood him.

He was a man broken by grief. He had lost the love of his life, and now he was drowning in revenge. He married me not out of love, not out of desire, but because he wanted me trapped in his palms. He wanted me to live under his shadow, to pay for a crime I didn't commit.

There was no way out now. Even if I wanted to escape, where would I go? How could I run from a man who owned the entire city?

“Sleep early,” he said casually, tossing his tie onto the chair. “Tomorrow, you will enter the gates of hell.”

I froze. “What gates of hell?”

He looked at me, his smile fading completely, leaving only cold darkness in his eyes.

“Your way to suffer.”

My heart sank. I didn’t know what awaited me, but I knew one thing for certain—it would be far worse than anything I had imagined. I had married the Devil himself. Now, whether I lived or died, I had only one goal:

I must survive his ninety-nine ways of punishment.

The next morning, Demi drove me to a massive, towering penthouse. As we arrived, the gates opened and guards lined up, bowing their heads in fear and respect.

“Mr. Demi, what are we doing here?” I asked, my throat dry and tight.

“You’ll see,” was all he said.

Suddenly, maids appeared and grabbed my arms, pulling me away from the car.

“Demi! Don’t leave me here!” I screamed, struggling against them.

But he didn’t even turn back. He just walked away, leaving me to my fate.

I was dragged inside and brought to the dining room.

Sitting there with perfect grace and terrifying elegance was a woman. She held a teacup, her eyes sharp and cold as she looked me up and down.

“So… you are my son’s wife?” she asked, taking a slow sip.

This was Stella Shire. Demi’s mother.

Rumors were true. Cruelty truly ran in their blood. She was known throughout the city as the Iron Lady—unforgiving, heartless, and dangerous.

I realized everything now. This was the punishment. Demi married me just to hand me over to her. He wanted his own mother to torture me.

“Kneel,” she commanded, her voice rough and full of disdain.

I dropped to my knees on the cold marble floor, my heart pounding.

Then, another figure appeared. A young woman walked in, looking at me with pure hatred and mockery.

“So you’re the one stealing my fiancé?” she sneered. “You little homewrecker.”

I frowned in confusion. Fiancé? Demi’s bride was dead. Who was this woman?

“I am Kaye Cortez,” she smiled wickedly, stepping forward to lift my chin forcefully. “And I am the one who was supposed to marry him.”

“Well,” I spat back, pride refusing to let me break completely. “I am his wife now.”

“You think that means something?” she laughed, the sound sharp and ugly. “I waited for that wretched woman to die! I waited so long! This position, this status… it was supposed to be mine! And now you took it?”

“I won’t let you get away with this,” she hissed.

“Punish her however you see fit,” Stella said coldly, giving permission.

Kaye’s eyes lit up with madness. “Hold her down!”

The maids grabbed my arms tightly. Before I could react, Kaye poured a whole cup of hot tea directly onto my face, making me a laughing stock in the room.

“Beat her!” she ordered.

A maid grabbed a thick wooden plank and swung it hard against my back.

CRACK!

Agony shot through my body. Blood trickled from the corner of my lips.

So this is what he meant. The gates of hell.

They thought I was weak. They thought I would just cry and take it. But they were wrong.

Fueled by pain and anger, I gathered every ounce of strength left in me and pushed the maids away with one powerful strike.

I was small, but I was fierce. I climbed onto the dining chair to match their height, and when the maid came at me again, I bit her neck hard—like a wild animal, like a vampire.

Blood stained my teeth.

The maid screamed and fell to the floor, clutching her wound. I stepped down, walking slowly towards Stella and Kaye, my eyes dark and terrifying.

“Lay a hand on me again,” I whispered, my voice hoarse and dangerous. “And I will make you all pay.”

“Monster!” Stella shrieked, stepping back in fear. “You are a monster!”

“Monster?” I laughed evilly, wiping the blood from my mouth. “This is just self-defense. Is it a crime to fight back when you are trying to kill me?”

I looked straight at Stella, my gaze unwavering.

“Stella, I still respect you as my mother-in-law. But do not test me. I have already lost everything. I have nothing left to be afraid of.”

I turned my glare to Kaye.

“And you? Demi buried his former bride. But he married me. Not you. Doesn’t that tell you something? It means he never, ever wanted you.”

“How dare you?!” Kaye roared, her face turning red with fury.

“How dare I?” I smiled slightly, challenging her. “Only Demi has the right to get rid of me. Not you. Not her. None of you.”

“I wonder why Demi married you,” Stella said coldly, trying to regain her composure. “You are ill-mannered, violent, and respect no one.”

“Do I even deserve this life?” I countered sharply. “Or did your son marry me simply to torture me? Tell me, do you really think you deserve to judge me?”

“You…” Kaye stammered, unable to reply.

In that moment, clarity hit me like lightning.

Demi never told them the truth. He never told them I was here as a criminal, as revenge. He let them think I was just his wife, a rival to be hated.

He married me to trap my soul. He handed me over to his cruel family to break me.

This was just the beginning of his game.

I looked at their angry faces and touched my bleeding back.

I understand now, I thought, my heart hardening like stone.

This is hell. And I am going to survive every single bit of it.

“Dad, let’s open it together.” I turned to my father, a dark, dangerous smile curling on my lips. “Don’t worry. This gift will be everything you want… like father, like daughter, after all.” I set the ornate velvet box right in the center of the hall, every eye in the room glued to it. “Ladies and gentlemen, before I unwrap my present, there’s someone I’d like to bring out first—my mother’s little secret lover.” I flicked my hand, and Demi’s men dragged a bound, trembling man forward, shoving him hard to his knees. “Look closely. This is Kean. My ex-boyfriend. The bastard who fucked my stepmother right under our roof.” My voice was cold, sharp as a blade. “My father treated him like his own son, gave him every single thing he ever had… and this is how he repays us? Stabbing us in the back like the filthy rat he is.” Kean sobbed, groveling, pressing his forehead to the marble floor begging for mercy. “Fyr, please! I’m sorry, let me go, I swear I’ll never do it again—” I

The air in the ballroom was thick with the scent of expensive cologne and cheap lies. Hundreds of the city’s elite had gathered to celebrate my father’s 50th birthday, but their attention wasn't on him. It was on the man at my side."That’s Alexus Cloud’s daughter," someone whispered, the sound cutting through the orchestral music. "The daughter of the legendary Executioner... and she’s walking in on the arm of Demi Shire.""A lamb leading a wolf," another muttered. "Does Cloud know he’s powerless against a monster like Shire?"I kept my chin high, my hand resting on Demi’s sleeve. Let them whisper. They saw a captive bride I saw a weapon. Demi had promised me a month of freedom if I proved I had a heart of stone tonight. And I was hungry for the hunt. Before the main event, I found her in the powder room. My stepmother. To the world, she was the "Gilded Lady," a portrait of loyalty and grace. To me, she was the parasite that had infested my home."Hi, Mom," I said to her refle

Logically, I know Demi had every right to leave me rotting in the streets, to let me die like the worthless criminal everyone believed I was. But I never expected him to pull me back from the edge of death. And for that… I am grateful, even if gratitude tastes like ash in my mouth.“Thank you for saving me,” I whispered, refusing to meet his eyes. My throat felt tight, heavy with fear, but I forced myself to gather every shred of courage I had left. “Please… let me go. I need to tell my father the truth. I need to tell him his wife has been betraying him all along.”“I promise I won’t run,” I added, my voice trembling, terrified that one wrong word would turn Demi into the very devil everyone feared. He reached out, his fingers gripping my chin hard, forcing my head up until I had no choice but to look into his dark, unreadable eyes.“That time will come,” he said, his voice low, deep, and laced with a threat that sent ice down my spine. “Wait for it.”Then he turned and left, locki

"What are you doing here?” I whispered, my voice trembling. “It’s already midnight.”“Your father is busy handling other matters,” Demi replied, a dark, sinister smirk playing on his lips. He reached out and freed my wrists, which had been bound above my head. “But rest assured... the show has officially begun.”I let out a bitter, hollow laugh. “What now? Are you finally going to kill my stepmother and Kean?” I asked, deep down secretly wishing he would say yes.Instead of answering, he pulled me roughly to my feet. “Are you ready?” he asked, his smile twisting into something demonic, as if darkness itself had possessed him. I nodded, my heart already pounding with dread.“You didn’t bring any guards?” I noticed the empty surroundings. “No one to lead the way?”“Don’t worry,” he said coldly. “They won’t watch. This performance is for our eyes only.”We walked silently through the mansion, ascending the stairs toward the second floor. My legs felt heavy as we stopped in front of

I sat alone in the quiet garden, the cool breeze doing nothing to soothe the burning ache in my chest. Tears streamed down my face unchecked, each drop a testament to the betrayal I had just endured. Kean’s rejection had cut deeper than any knife. He was supposed to be my savior, my love, yet he had left me to rot. And now, I could almost hear it—the sound of Demi’s triumphant, evil laughter echoing in my mind. He knew. He knew I would fail. This was my only chance to escape, and it was gone. Just like that. "All you ever do is cry." That deep, cold voice came from behind me, sending a shiver down my spine. Demi stepped into my view, his presence dominating the space around him. "Let me guess," he sneered, looking down at me with dark, mocking eyes. "He never wanted to run away with you, did he? Is this what you call love? It looks more like cowardice to me." "I never imagined someone like you would admire bravery," I whispered, my voice trembling. He tilted his head, a cruel

The morning light had barely touched the room when the door burst open with a violent crash. I was still curled in bed when Demi stormed inside, his presence heavy and suffocating. "It is already eight o'clock, and you are still lying there?" he snapped, his eyes burning with that familiar, terrifying rage. I sat up slowly, stretching my stiff back. Every movement sent a dull ache through my muscles. "My body still hurts," I whispered, hoping for even a shred of mercy, though I knew it was useless to ask. "Then why didn't you say so last night?" His voice was low, deep, and dangerous. I looked at him, a bitter smile touching my lips. "Even if I had told you, would you have believed me?" "No," he answered instantly, stepping closer. "Remember your place. You are my captive bride. And I am far from finished with you." He turned sharply toward the door. "Get ready. We are leaving." "Where?" I asked, but he ignored me, walking away without a single word. I dressed in a simple
