Chapter 17: Soul imprisoned

It was a night time when Sam woke up from sleep. She felt thirsty at night so she thought of getting some water.

"It's annoying, I'm still thirsty!" She said in disgust.

She left her room and slowly descended. It was dark at the chin and little light could be seen from the window from outside. When she came down, she heard a noise from the living room so she went to it.

"You're not scared ...! You're not scared ...!" She said over and over while down the stairs.

She felt a little nervous during those hours but she just ignored it. Arriving in the living room she saw the phone had fallen even the flowerbase next to it was not in the right place.

"How can this fall?" She asked.

Sam picked up the phone on the floor and arranged the placement in its place. She also arranged the placement of the flowervase. Then she walked into the kitchen but suddenly the cold air was blowing. She looked where the wind had gone to get inside the house and she saw the window open.

"They forgot to close it again. It's a good thing I woke up." She says.

She closed the window and turned around. Turning away she saw an image on the dark side.

"Who ... who are you?" She asked stuttering in fear.

The image she saw did not answer and suddenly disappeared into the darkness. Sam was so scared at that moment that she ran quickly to the top and was unable to fetch water. She went into her bedroom and covered herself with a blanket until she fell asleep.

Sam slept soundly that night so she dreamed of the tree house again.

"I'm here again." She said sadly.

"What's in this tree house?" She asked.

She circled around the edge of the tree house. It looks like a normal tree house when you look at it, but there is a demon in that tree house that remained alive and strong even a few decades ago, so it's amazing why it hasn't been destroyed on purpose. If you look at the tree house, it is in good condition and you can't tell how many years it has been standing. Sam stopped near the stairs of the tree house. Her eyes widened and trembled to see the souls around her.

"Help us! Help us.!" Repeatedly asking for the help of souls to her.

She covered both ears and bowed. Gradually she also sat down in her stand as the souls who had long been confined in the tree house approached her. Soon she heard a familiar voice.

"Sam.! Sam.!" A woman calls to her in a familiar voice.

When she looked at it she saw her friend Claire.

"Don't be afraid, Sam." Said Claire.

They just want to be free from long -term confinement.

Sam stood up and hugged the friend as her tears flowed.

"Claire ..! I miss you!" Sam said while in tears.

She also immediately let go of the hug.

"Why are you here too? Are you incarcerated too?"Sam asked.

"I'm just here to help them. I'm the one who makes the way to talk to you but your fear is driving you so I can't talk to you. "Claire said.

"What help can I do for them, Claire?"

"The whole tree house needs to be blessed. The priest's blessing did not continue due to the presence of the devil." Said Sam.

"Is that the time the priest passed out?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, you're right." Claire replied.

"Be careful Sam because the demon is no longer in Shane's body and it roams freely somewhere." Claire said.

“How did you find out?” Sam asked.

"I see everything and even you I'm watching but you avoid me and you're scared." Claire said seriously.

Suddenly the wind blew hard in the middle of their conversation and at the same time the souls disappeared. Sam and Claire were left talking.

"Go away Sam! He's coming ..,! The devil is coming!" Claire says scared for Sam too.

Sam woke up suddenly and got lost in the bad dream.

"I need to talk to Vince." She said quickly when she woke up.

She immediately got up and stood up on her bed. She also took a shower and put on a school uniform. Then she left her room. Going down she went to the kitchen and she saw her parents and her grandmother. Everyone does their own thing when she sees.

"Good morning!" Sam greeted and smiled.

"Oh Sam, have breakfast." Her mom said seeing Sam at the door.

"Just a sandwich mom." Sam said to her mother. Her father and grandmother just looked at her.

"Dad, let's go." She looked at her father sitting while reading a newspaper with coffee next to it on the table.

"You're sure Sam, it's too early." Her dad replied.

"Yes daddy, hudred percent sure." Sam answered quickly.

"You get in the car first and I'll be next." Her father said.

Sam immediately obeyed her father's words.

Sam was about to leave the kitchen when she suddenly remembered the window that was open last night. She stopped near the door and was noticed by her grandmother sitting at the table opposite the door.

“Sam why?” Her grandmother asked.

Sam turned to her grandmother before speaking.

"Hmm ... last night I was suddenly thirsty so I came down here to get something to drink and I saw the window open. You forgot to close it last night." Sam narrated.

"I was the last to climb last night but I closed everything that could be closed." Said her grandmother.

Her parents just looked at their two.

"Enough, nothing is lost so you've stopped." Sam's mother said.

Sam's father was also up in sitting.

"Come to the car Sam." Her father said to take another sandwich and immediately toasted.

"Wait for your lunchbox sweety." Her mother said.

Sam took her lunchbox from her mother and immediately walked over to her father. They got in the car and left. Her father drove Sam to the opposite gate of the school.

"Bye daddy ...!" Sam said loudly to her father and smiled.

"Bye!" The father said boldly.

Sam turned around and walked into the school. Vince had just arrived so he saw her from the car window. When Vince got out of the car, he immediately ran into Sam.

"Boom!" Vince was shocked of Sam.

Sam was surprised by what Vince did and Vince laughed at her.

"I told you Vince don't startle me like that." Sam said and her chest throbbing fast in shock.

"Because you're cute when you're surprised." Vince said while laughing.

"Oh ... really." Disgusted Sam said.

"Why don't you want to be cute, huh?" Vince said.

Sam just smiled at that moment.

"I have something to tell you Vince."

"That you like me, huh. That's what you're going to say?" Vince asked jokingly.

"That's not it." Sam replied to Vince.

"What do you want to say?" Vince asked.

They were about to enter their room and their conversation was still going on.

"I saw Claire in a dream. Asking for help for the souls trapped in the tree house a long time ago." Sam said.

"So what we need to do now?"Vince asked.

"We need to blessed the tree house, Vince."

"Let's tell the teacher so it's up to them to call the priest." Vince said.

"Let's not let you know because we don't know what happened to Shane yet." Sam said sadly.

"I'll also keep up with what happened to her." Vince said to Sam and he carried Sam into the room.

Their classmates were shocked to see them together.

"Ayehhhh ...." Their classmates shouted.

Sam was suddenly embarrassed so she removed Vince's hand that was holding her shoulder and she quickly went to her seat.

Sam and Vince were already sitting when their classmates also stopped making noise. Their teacher came and spoke. Their class has already started. Everyone listened quietly to what their teacher was teaching. Some of Sam's classmates were whispering until Sam and Vince heard their classmate talking.

"What, the girl dead who was possessed by a demon?" Said a man.

"Shane is to be dead. Her parents were here earlier, in the principal's office and someone overheard what they were talking about. She didn't reach the hospital and was already dead when the doctor checked her body." Narration of a fat man.

"Poor girl." A woman said.

When Sam heard that, she was suddenly sad for Shane. She looked at Vince and she didn't think that Vince was also listening. They looked at each other.

"Class! Seat properly." Said the teacher to the muttering students.

Soon it was as the bell rang and everything broke first. Some went to the canteen and others to the library. Some were just talking next to each other and others were playing. Sam and Vince just sat next to each other and ate the snack they brought.

"Shane looks dead." Sam said sadly.

"Yeah, I heard that too." Vince said at once.

"It means the demon was no longer in her body before she got to the hospital." In Sam's mind.

"It looks like that." Vince said.

The wind blew a little and Sam looked away. She saw Claire and she stared at Claire for a moment. It taught something so Sam looked at what Claire was teaching. Vince was busy eating and looking the other way. Claire points to the tree house where Sam also looks up. Sam stood up and looked at what was in the tree house until she saw Shane's soul sitting on the side of the tree house. It's bent over that place. Vince noticed Sam's quietness.

"Sam why?" Vince asked as he saw the idiot Sam next to him.

Sam was shocked when Vince asked.

"Ah ... what's is it Vince?" Sam asked as well.

"Why are you stupid there?" Vince asked again.

"Nothing, I just looked at something." Sam said.

"Do you see her at the tree house, Vince?" Sam asked.

"No, who is it?" Vince asked in surprise.

"Nevermind." Sam replied.

They ate the food they had brought and then went back to their room. Sam wondered why Shane's soul was also in the tree house.

"Sam.! Sam ..!" Vince calls.

" Oh why?" Sam asked.

"Let's go home later." Vince said.

"I can't keep up with you, Vince."

"Why?" Vince asked.

"Stop asking, i have something to do later." Sam said seriously.

Vince was suddenly sad.

"I'll be home with you tomorrow." Sam said and smiled.

"It's okay Sam, no problem for me if you can't keep up." Vince said and smiled as well.

It was five o'clock in the afternoon when their class ended. One by one they sent everyone away. Vince went home to Sam earlier. Sam's parents arrived in the car and stopped near the gate. Sam's mother saw Vince as he passed by their car.

"Vince, where's Sam." Sam's mother asked.

"She's still inside." Vince replied.

"Okay thank you!" Sam's mother said.

Her parents just waited for Sam. Very few students were there and even the teacher but Sam still wasn’t coming. Her mother was worried so she thought of going to her but when Sam's mother came down, she suddenly came.

"Sweety! Where are you from and how long did you go out?" Her mother asked.

"Your mommy and I were worried about what had happened to you inside." Her father said.

"I'm just taking care of something, I'm sorry." Sam said.

"Come on, get in the car." Her mom said.

Sam immediately obeyed her mother.

"Next time, Just called to your mom that you can't get out right away." Her dad said.

"Okay dad." Sam said softly.

Her father started the car and they left to go home.

They went home and Sam went straight to her room. When she dropped the bag on her bed, she changed into her house clothes. While changing Sam went to the mirror to comb her hair and she remembered what happened to her earlier by the time the class was over and everyone had left in school.

"Class ... you can go home now." The teacher said.

All the students left the room to go home. Sam was the last to come out with her classmates. When she left their room she hurried to the tree house. She saw Shane's soul sitting and crouching on the stairs of the tree house. Sam approached it.

"Shane.?" Sam asked.

Shane suddenly nodded and looked at her.

Shane's face was sad and there were tears in her eyes even though she was a ghost and she could still see sadness in her eyes. Sam yelled at Shane.

"Why are you here at the tree house?" Sam asked.

Shane didn't speak.

"I want to help you, trust me." Sam said.

"I've been imprisoned here for a long time." Shane said and it started to cry again.

"I'm sorry for what happened to you." Sam said sadly.

"They said you looked dead." Sam said.

"I'm not dead yet, please help me! Please tell my parents not to embalm my body yet." Shane pleads.

"But a day has passed and your body may have been embalmed." Sam said.

Shane cried again. Claire appeared next to them.

"Claire ...," Sam said when see her friend.

"Her body remained in the morgue and the balm did not move it because Shane's body was still hot and her wrist was hiding because she was trapped here so she could not return to her body. "Claire said.

Sam paused before speaking.

"Where is your house Shane?" Sam asked.

"I will show you the location of their house." Claire answered.

Sam looked at Claire before looking at Shane.

"I hope your parents believe, Shane." Sam said. Shane just silently stared at Sam.

Sam left after their conversation.

As she remembered her conversation with Shane and Claire she continued to comb her hair while facing the mirror.
