Chapter 3: By nightfall

Four o'clock in the afternoon. Sam was left at home with her grandmother.

"Grandma, I'm just in the living room." Sam said.

"All right granddaughter."Sam went to the living room.

She picked up the tv remote and turned it on. Her grandmother passed in front of her.

"Grandma, where are you going?"

"Only here outside Sam, will air."

"Can i come with you grandma?" Sam asked.

The old woman did not go out already.

"All right, but before we go out I'll get us a snack first if you come along." The old woman said to Sam with a smile.

"Okay grandma, let's go now.." Sam said with smiled.

Sam grabbed her grandmother’s arm and happily pulled her into the kitchen to prepare their snack. When they finished getting their snacks, they went outside and spent time there. The grandmother talked happily while eating their prepared snack.

"Lola, you look young now." Mischievouse  Sam said.

" Don't philosophized me Sam." Her grandma laughed slightly.

"Grandma, it's late at night here and cold now." Sam said.

"Yeah, it's late at night." They smiled together.

"Grandma, wait a minute, I'll just get the juice because I've run out." Sam smiled at the same time. Her grandmother smiled as well.

Because the house was big, Sam couldn't help but be scared, especially when he went to the kitchen alone. Suddenly the pots fluttered. She hurried to where the noise was.

"What's that noise?" She asked herself.

She stopped opposite the door of their kitchen. She peeked slowly and saw nothing. At that time she felt scared again. Suddenly the surroundings where she was cooled. The kitchen utensils are good. There was a table in the middle so when she entered, she turned to the refrigerator to get the cold juice. She saw the pot on the side of the table.

" How it fell this things?" She picked it up and returned it to where it had been placed.

She took some juice and went out.

"No ghost here...., no ghost here.......," She sang.

When she came out, the light suddenly went crazy. It would ignite and suddenly die so he ran out of the house and went to her grandmother.

"Oh Sam, why do you seem to be chasing someone?" Her grandmother asked.

Sam chased her breath and spoke.

"Ah.. nothing grandma." She replied.

She could no longer tell her grandmother what had happened.

"This is our juice grandma." Sam said.

She set the glass down on the table with only juice. She sat down next to her grandmother. The surroundings in which they were were evident.

"What do you want for dinner Sam?" Grandma asked her.

"Anything as long as you cook grandma." Sam said.

They drink both juice and cookies while talking.

" The sorroundings are so quiet this time." Sam said while looking around.

" It's already night and there are no people wandering around at this time." Her grandma said.

When they finished, her grandmother invited her in.

"Let's go inside now." Said her grandmother.

"All right, grandma, I'll take the toes." Sam said while holding the glasses and plates they used.

They entered the house and closed the front and back doors. They also closed the windows. The grandmother went straight to the kitchen to cook. After they cook they will eat dinner.

"Grandma, your cooking is really delicious." Sam smiled.

"Really, go ahead and just eat some food." Old woman said.

While eating at the dinner table they heard something break.

"What's that?" The old woman asked.

They were both surprised because they were the only person in the house. Nor can the air or anything just get in to make noise from somewhere inside their house.

"Grandma, I'm scared." There was fear on Sam's face.

"Don't be afraid, grandma is here."

"Maybe it's just a rat, grandma." Assuming Sam.

"Maybe." Said her grandmother.

When they have finished eating and cleaning the kitchen. They looked for the thing they heard was broken. The old man saw the candle holder that would break on the floor. It's cracked and some parts of that thing are scattered.

"Why did it fall?" Her grandmother asked in astonishment.

They have not yet been able to put away the thing that was broken by the sudden death of the light of those moments. They were near the living room where the object they had seen was.

"Grandma, the light is crazy again." She hugged her grandmother.

Eventually the light turned on again. They did not leave their place.

"Grandma someone passed in front of us." She saw a black shadow pass by turning on the light again.

"Whoever you are disturbing this house get out! You're not welcome here!" The old woman shouted.

One by one the windows opened and a strong wind blew inside even the curtains were blown away by the wind. The door on the opposite side slammed hard opening. Some of the equipment was broken, and the light suddenly exploded. Sam was trembling with fear at those times while her grandmother was calm and wondering what to do. Someone is haunting the house and it has been even more disturbing since they moved.

"Grandma, what are we going to do?"

"Let's pray." Grandmother said.

They prayed and prayed until the noises around them made by the spirits that were there stopped. They both signed the cross and said amen at the same time. They were fixing the broken items that were scattered and closing the windows again.

"I'm scared grandma." Sam said.

"Just don't leave my side."  grandmother said and held her by the head.

"Yes grandma."After they cleaned up they went straight to one of the rooms.

"Here we are, this room is safe for us especially the two of us here." Grandma said.

"Why mom and dad didn't hire a helper so we could have someone with us when they weren't there." Sam said.

"I don't know either granddaughter."They lay down on the bed side by side.

Sam hugged her grandmother. They didn't turn off the light either and just left it on.

"Let's go to sleep, grandma." Sam said.

"All right, let's go to sleep." Grandma said to her.

While the grandmother was sound asleep. A shadow hovered inside their cloth house looking for something. It made a noise so Sam woke up in the middle of the night.

"Grandma ...! grandma ... !wake up ...!" Her grandmother didn't want to wake up.

She stood up and approached the door. She put her ear to the door to listen to the noise she heard. She was restless so she opened the door slightly. She was startled with mixed fear when she saw the black shadow. Sam closed the door again and quickly went to bed. She was covered with a blanket in extreme fear.

"Grandma ....." She called her grandmother but she still didn't want to wake up.

She was terrified at that moment and felt in fear. She looked all around and she didn't feel any spirit. Eventually she noticed that someone was opening the door. It is forced to open but it cannot be opened. There was a cross hanging behind the door and on their bed. Sam fell asleep in extreme fear.

"Sam ... it's morning."her grandmother opens the window.

Sam woke up as well. She remembered what had happened last night.

"Good morning grandma." She greeted her grandmother. She was obviously awake.

"Good morning." Her grandmother also greeted her.

"How are you sleeping." Sam didn't answer right away.

"Didn't you sleep well?" Her grandmother asked.

"I slept well." She was lying."

That's it, so wake up and maybe your parents will come.

" Her grandmother said and Smiled approached her and made their bed. Sam also stood up and combed her hair.

"Grandma, let's go out together." She smiled at her grandmother.

When the old woman finished what she was doing, they left their room together. When they came out they saw photos and other things scattered around.

"Have we cleaned up the mess again?" Surprise of her grandmother. Sam was no longer surprised because she knew who or what had done.

"Come, Sam, help me to clean." The old woman nursed her. Sam quietly followed her grandmother.

The door opened and they saw her parents enter. Her father and mother stopped at the door.

"What happened to the mess?" Surprise of her mother.

Her father was just quiet. Her grandmother approached her parents.

"You need to bless this house." Her mother thought before she spoke.

"As far as I know it's been blessed." Said her mother. Her father heard what her mother said.

"Hon, the priest's blessing didn't continue." Her dad said to her mother.

"But you didn't tell me right away, you know that no one has lived here for a long time." Disgusted her mother said.

"I'm sorry I forgot to say." Answer of her father.

Sam's mother looked at her whereabouts before looking at the old man.

" What really happened? Are you hurt? ”Her mother asked.

"We're just ok at the mercy of god." Answer of the old woman.

After they talk they cleaned up the clutter. They also replaced the broken light. While cleaning, the grandmother told a story about what happened. When her parents heard what had happened, they immediately blessed the whole house.
