LUCIA

Doctor Sanchez walked over to me while Alejandro lazily strolled behind. He looked exhausted, like he didn’t want to be here and he would rather use his precious time for something better.

Dr. Sanchez I mean, not Alejandro.

He got to where I was and pushed out a faint smile. “Good morning Signora Lucia”

“Good morning Dr. Sanchez” I greeted back.

“Don Alejandro contacted me that you have an issue with your health?” He muttered as he looked at Alejandro then back at me.

LUCIADoctor Sanchez walked over to me while Alejandro lazily strolled behind. He looked exhausted, like he didn’t want to be here and he would rather use his precious time for something better.Dr. Sanchez I mean, not Alejandro. He got to where I was and pushed out a faint smile. “Good morning Signora Lucia” “Good morning Dr. Sanchez” I greeted back.“Don Alejandro contacted me that you have an issue with your health?” He muttered as he looked at Alejandro then back at me.An issue with my health? My brows furrowed slightly. Was that how he worded it?I shook my head and smiled “No…i’m fine, I just woke up with a mild headache this morning. But i’m fine now, it was just something minimal” I responded so confidently like I wasn’t just about to literally pass out some minutes ago.Mild? Minimal? Heck, Lucia, you couldn’t even stand still at a point. My eyes darted to Alejandro for some weird reason that my brain couldn’t fathom. He held a blank expression, with his hands stuffed into

LUCIAThe air was thick with silence. The world felt like it had suddenly stopped moving and time had paused.Carlos stood rooted in front of me. I couldn’t see his facial expression but I knew his countenance had definitely changed. He moved his hand backwards, and grabbed one of my hands, giving it a gentle reassuring rub. The kind of gentle rub that spoke of me not worrying and leaving everything to him.“What do you mean, Dad?” He asked.“I mean she goes nowhere Carlos. Take her back inside” I heard Alejandro reply immediately, his voice cold to the touch.“Why father? She needs immediate medical attention. She’s weak” Carlos tried to reason with Alejandro, but I guess he had already made up his mind.Because all Alejandro said was "I will call Doctor Sanchez” then he began to walk away. The sudden headache that I woke up with this morning slowly started to vanish. I stood there frozen in place wondering what the fuck I was expecting to happen? Did I really think there was a chanc

LUCIATHE NEXT DAYMy morning came with a splitting headache. A sharp pain shot through the right side of my head aggressively waking me up in groans. It felt like they were poking thousands of needles directly into my head. I sat up but I quickly laid back down when it felt like my head was going to fall off. “Augh!” I took my hand to my head, giving it a light rub. What was the sudden pain I woke up with? I was totally fine last night before I went to sleep. Although, I felt extremely weak and tired. Was that the reason? A series of thoughts ran through my head that at a point it started becoming straining to even think.Anyway, I knew I had to get up from this bed to seek help or something. My head turned to the landline by the night stand. I stood up and slowly walked over. I remembered the first day I had arrived here that Miguel had asked me to press a number to page him anytime I needed him. I stared at the landline for seconds trying to remember the exact number he talked

ALEJANDRO The moment I left Lucia, I was back in my room glancing through paperworks, not because i wanted to but because i couldn’t get my mind off what the fuck I just did.My thoughts rallied with questions about why I did what I did. Why did I apologize to her right at that moment?I never planned to.The instant I saw her walk through the dining room and into the kitchen, all I had in mind was to question her about why she skipped dinner. But right then, when she spoke about how vulnerable she felt in that room, something in me snapped. And I let those words out. I sighed and leaned back into my reclined chair, my hand fixed to the back of my head. My eyes locked on the papers scattered on the table for a few seconds and I used my free hand to toss it away further.I knew there wasn’t anything important I was doing on there. My eyes were initially just fixed on it because I couldn't get the thought out of my head. My head slumped backwards and my eyes closed. The scene in the

LUCIAI tried to move back but I felt his hand grope the side of my waist and pull me closer to him. My body stiffened.“Wh…what are you doing Alejandro?” I said as I tried to push myself out of his grip. His grip tightened around my waist and he pulled me closer, closer than I should be around him.“Why do you keep speaking to me in that manner, Piccola?” He asked, staring right at me.~Little one.Directly into my soul. For a moment, I forgot that I was supposed to be angry at him. I forgot I was supposed to hate him and rain curses on him. Instead, I was captivated by his golden brown eyes that lurked on me.“I…i…i” I tried to speak, to let out words, but nothing was coming out.It was like my tongue had been tied.He took his eyes off my eyes and down to my lips then back up. “Speak” he muttered in the most calmest way ever. And I obeyed. I didn’t know why, I just did.“I…i…i don’t understand what you are talking about” I finally said, but right after those words, I slowly started

LUCIA HOURS LATER~EVENING A call from the landline aggressively woke me up. My body became conscious before my brain even did. I sprang up from my bed and blindly threw my hands to the phone on the nightstand. I picked it up and absentmindedly placed it to my ear. I let out a sleepy groan. “Signora Lucia? Dinner is ready?” Miguel’s voice sounded from the other side. My brain seemed to come back to its setting at those words. I slowly opened my eyes and looked outside. The world was already dark. What time was it and how long have I been sleeping? “Hmm?” “Signora? I said dinner is ready” he repeated, probably thinking that I didn’t hear him the first time. I was about to tell him that I was coming downstairs when my mind rewinded to what happened hours earlier. My face formed a frown. There was no way I was going down for dinner. I didn’t want to see him at all. “I’m not coming down for dinner Miguel,” I said coldly. “Ms. Lucia…” Miguel was about to say some
