RADA’S POV

Dragging my right leg slowly, I made my way to the kitchen. My eyes still felt heavy and hot, but I had to get up early to cook. If I didn’t, everyone in this house would fly into a rage at me.

Ah, not just a rage—they might even resort to violence against me.

I stretched every muscle in my body, which felt incredibly stiff. How could it not? Last night I barely slept because I had to iron a mountain of clothes. Not to mention, I had to set aside time to write an online novel—the only way I can make a little money.

I do live in a luxurious house, but I don’t have a single penny to my name. Even to eat, I have to wait for their leftovers.

But what else can I do? I’m realistic. I’m not a biological child in this family.

I can’t leave. I don’t have anyone else left in this world. If I were to leave on a whim, where would I go? And… I…

I let out a long sigh as I looked down at my right leg.

I can’t walk normally like most people. My right leg is disabled. I have to drag it with great effort every time I take a step. In fact, I still often need a cane to help me stand upright.

When I was four years old, I was in a terrible accident, and this family was the one who helped me and took me in. Even though, in the end, I’ve ended up in this miserable situation.

“Rada! Have you started cooking yet?! Don’t let it get too late!”

I reflexively turned my head the moment I heard that shrill voice. “Yes, Mariana. I’m cooking; it’ll be done in a minute,” I replied softly.

Back then, I was allowed to call her “Mom.” But ever since her biological child was born, she’s forbidden me from calling her that anymore. She told me to know my place. Yet, before she had a child, she promised to love me as her own daughter—even though I couldn’t walk normally.

“Good! Just you wait if you dare to eat before us! Remember, Ines has a casting call this morning. She needs to eat nutritious food to stay strong. She’s going to be a star—not like you!”

I nodded resignedly. After Mariana walked away, I exhaled a long breath that felt constricted in my chest.

Honestly, deep down in my heart, I envied Ines. She was treated like a princess in this house. Ever since school, she’d always been the center of attention. It was so different from me—I didn’t even have a single friend back in school. No one wanted to be friends with a disabled girl like me.

Without realizing it, tears welled up and trickled down my cheeks. I suddenly missed my parents terribly.

If only they were still alive, I would never have to endure such a tragic and painful fate. If only I hadn’t whined about wanting to go to my little friend’s birthday party back then, maybe my father and I wouldn’t have been in that tragic accident. And I… wouldn’t have to live with this disability for the rest of my life.

Will I ever be able to walk normally again? I don’t know.

Maybe I can, but with what money would I go to the hospital? I don’t have much money; my savings are meager and will never be enough to cover the cost of surgery.

Now that I’m turning 30, I don’t have a job that pays a decent wage, and they’ve never allowed me to leave this house.

Ask them for money? It’s clear they’ll never give it to me. If they actually cared, they would’ve taken me to the doctor long ago. But the reality? They’ve just left me disabled like this.

After I finished cooking, I arranged all the dishes on the dining table. I walked extra carefully, afraid that a plate might fall and break, because if that happened, they’d get really angry and take away my food rations.

“Rada...”

My steps halted when I heard Darion’s deep voice. I turned and found the man staring at me intently. The cold glint in his eyes instantly sparked fear within me.

“Are you still a virgin?”

Gulp.

I swallowed hard upon hearing that crazy question. Fear immediately engulfed my mind—imagining the worst if he were to try anything with me.

“Don’t think the worst, Rada! If I wanted to, I probably would’ve done it a long time ago!” Darion snapped quickly, as if he could read my mind, causing a slight sigh of relief to escape my chest.

“You know, right? Since my wife and I brought you here, gave you a place to live, and sent you to school, you need to know how to repay us!” he emphasized again in a deep voice.

I nodded slowly. That line was a weapon they always threw at me. But hadn’t I already repaid them? I’d been an unpaid housekeeper in this home for years. They didn’t even need to hire a maid because I handled all the housework despite my limitations.

So, hasn’t my service all this time been enough?

“My family is facing a huge problem, Rada. I could even die at any moment if I can’t pay off my debts,” Darion continued, his expression darkening.

“Then… what am I supposed to do? I don’t have any money,” I asked softly.

“You’ll find out for yourself what you need to do. Just remember one thing: you have to know your place and repay the favor!” After uttering that threatening remark, Darion simply walked away.

I froze in place, clenching my fists so tightly that my knuckles turned white.

Shortly afterward, the sound of swaying footsteps drew near, forcing me to turn my head again.

It was Ines—their biological daughter. The one they’d always considered their lucky charm, because right after Ines was born, their fortunes suddenly took a turn for the better and they became incredibly wealthy.

“Hey, Cripple! Look at me. I’m beautiful, aren’t I? Aren’t you jealous of me?”

I chose to remain silent, staring at Ines, who looked so elegant and enchanting in her beautiful dress. And what about me? I was just wearing shabby clothes, not to mention my physical disability.

“I’m going to an audition, Rada. And I’m definitely going to become a famous actress! As for you? You’ll just rot away as a maid in this house! Besides, who would even want a girl like you, huh? You’re such a disabled woman!”

I didn’t know why my body was betraying me. What this stranger was doing was making my body writhe in surrender on the bed. Indecent moans kept escaping from between my lips as his hot lips swept over and sucked on the tips of my nipples. My eyes widened, my head tilted back as I braced for a wave of sensations I’d never felt before. A tingling, a heat, and a pleasure merged into one intense shock that set my consciousness ablaze. Yet, the remnants of my sanity were still trying to resist. Between the moans escaping my lips, I was still begging for mercy.“Ah… uh… Sir… please, don’t…” I whispered hoarsely. The man didn’t budge. He was still absorbed in squeezing my breast with a dominant pressure, while his mouth continued to suck on my nipple—just like a baby nursing from its mother. Once he’d had his fill of my right breast, he moved on to take control of my left. As if it weren’t enough to suck just one side until it turned red.His kisses began to trail downward. With his hand sti

“S-Sir… what’s going on?” I asked innocently, my voice trembling. The man didn’t answer. Instead, he brought his face even closer. I could hear his heart pounding wildly beneath his broad chest. His hot, ragged breath slapped against my face, triggering a wave of overwhelming fear.Terrifying images immediately flashed through my mind. I had just escaped from the fat man who bought me from Darion, but now I was face-to-face with a stranger who seemed consumed by a wild passion that was just as dangerous.“Sir, please let me go…” I whispered, trying to loosen his grip. But his hold was incredibly strong. With my physical limitations, I couldn’t move a muscle. He stared intently at me with bloodshot eyes. The next moment, his head snapped down, and he pounced, kissing my lips.I was, of course, completely taken by surprise by this sudden attack—especially since this was my first kiss. His lips crushed against mine roughly and forcefully. I froze, motionless, trying to muster what little

There was no response from the man, but my fingers were still clutching his expensive suit tightly. In the panic burning in my chest, I still hoped for a shred of mercy from him to help me.“Help me, sir... please...” I whispered again, my voice trembling.I turned my head when I heard the fat man’s shouts of curses growing closer in the hotel hallway. The man in front of me remained motionless. I stared deeply into his eyes, searching for a glimmer of humanity there. Finally, without uttering a single word, he suddenly pulled me close to his side.“Can’t you walk normally?” A deep, cold voice rumbled from his mouth, shattering the silence.“I-I… can’t. My right leg is disabled, sir,” I replied softly, lowering my head.Without another word, the man simply lifted me into his arms. I was startled and reflexively wrapped my arms around his neck. But I didn’t dare protest—my fear of being captured again by that evil man was far greater. He carried me with long strides out of the hotel ha

“Are you guys going to sell me?!” I asked immediately after managing to stand up with great difficulty in the living room. Not a single one of them answered. They just exchanged meaningful, cynical smiles.“Why are you doing this?! I… I’m willing to be your servant! But please, don’t do this!” I pleaded, gasping for breath.Mariana burst out laughing. She stepped forward, gently stroking my cheek, but the next second she twisted and yanked my hair very roughly. My head was forced back. I screamed in pain as I felt a strong tug on my scalp.“Do you even have the right to speak, Rada?! Remember, you owe us a debt of gratitude! So, you have to make a lot of money so we don’t end up beheaded for being unable to pay our debts!” Mariana snarled right in my face.“But why me?!” I stammered. My eyes turned red as I endured the pain in my head because Mariana still hadn’t released her grip. “I’ve never even once enjoyed your wealth! I— Aagghh!”I couldn’t finish my sentence, screaming as Maria

I stared at the leftovers on the table. A deep sense of curiosity filled my mind. Usually, they only leave me a tiny bit—and often, they don’t leave me anything at all. But look at this—Darion even left me a whole chicken thigh.Have they suddenly turned nice?It seems impossible, considering how often they’ve treated me unfairly all this time. Especially since the chicken thigh is Ines’s favorite part. If she found out I got the thigh, she’d definitely fly into a rage and snatch it right out of my hands. But why have they changed now? Especially Darion. That man usually always takes Ines’s side and never hesitates to hit me if his spoiled little girl makes up some nonsense.Never mind, I shouldn’t dwell on it too much. Right now, I need to eat to recharge my energy. They might go back to acting like their usual selves later tonight.I finished off that fairly substantial meal. A faint smile played on my lips. After washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen, I even managed to grab a

RADA’S POVI’ve heard one insult after another from them far too often. It feels like it’s become a daily routine. In fact, the pain in my heart has suddenly dulled because they’ve hurled those cruel words at me so often.I chose to ignore it. I walked slowly toward the corner of the kitchen, waiting for them to finish eating first. Otherwise, they’d fly into a rage. They always said they were disgusted at the thought of eating while seeing me sitting right next to them—as if I were a deadly virus capable of spreading disease.I stood alone in the far corner of the room, running my fingers over my dull, worn-out clothes, then leaning my back against the cold wall in silent stillness. The sound of their laughter rang loudly in my ears. They were busy discussing Ines’s beauty, extolling how Ines was sure to become a famous actress. Ines the great, Ines the lucky child who had made their lives overflow with wealth just as they are now. And me? Just a useless burden to them.I smiled bitt
