Chapter 2.

Dan swam out of the river to the other end, he could see the cops still around the river, he quietly walked out and informed his driver to bring him another car with a pay phone around the area. He trekked to the main road around and walked into a boutique. He bought new sets of clothes and another mask and changed into it. He packed his old clothes and everything into a plastic bag.

While still in the boutique, two policemen walked in, they walked toward the cashier and started interrogating him. Dan behaved very calmly and started going through the clothes in the boutique. After some minutes, the policemen left the boutique, and he walked up to the cashier to pay for everything he purchased with his credit card.

"Sir, you owe…" the cashier tried to say but Dan cut him off.

"I know, you saved me from being arrested, take any amount of money you need and hand the credit card back to me," Dan replied coldly.

The cashier smiled and took the credit card. He slotted it into the POS machine and took the amount of money he wanted. He handed the card back to Dan. Dan glared at him before turning to leave.

"Thank you, sir, I wish to work with you next time," the cashier said after him. Dan scoffed and walked out, still holding the plastic bag. He sighted some policemen around the area but quietly started walking towards the bus stop nearby.

He found his driver waiting for him around the area. He entered the car and slammed the door shut before dropping the plastic bag beside him.

"Let's get out of here," he said and his driver started the car and drove off.

"James, clear all the traces the policemen would ever find. I was very careful not to leave my fingerprint on the gun in the car I abandoned, I wore thick leather gloves. Now you have to erase my name from anything related to the car so I wouldn't be tracked. I left nothing in the car except the gun, don't be scared that any of my properties would be found inside it," Dan said over the phone.

"Yes, Sir! I will do everything immediately," James replied and Dan cut the call.

He heaved a sigh of relief and relaxed. After a forty-minute drive, the driver drove into his house and parked the car in the garage.

He got down with a smile and this got his workers shocked.

"Good evening boss," they greeted and he answered with a nod.

"Give the laundry Man the clothes in the plastic bag in the back seat," Dan said to his driver. He walked happily into the house and took the elevator upstairs.

His house was made of glass all through. It was almost the biggest house in the quiet neighborhood, everything in it was black and white, from the furniture to the interior design and the equipment. He was a lover of black and white.

He got to his room and walked to the closet, he took off the clothes and trashed them immediately.

Today is one of the best days of his life, he got to deal with the person that hurt him the most.

He strode into his bathroom and took off his undies. He got under the shower, enjoying the cold water running down on him. He washed his body with perfumed soap and rinsed it off before getting out of the shower.

He walked out and got dressed in a pair of white joggers and a T-shirt.

"Gosh I'm so happy, I have to celebrate this victory," he said to himself and picked up his phone before making his way downstairs.

"Get me a bottle of champagne and a glass," he said to the first person he saw once he was down.

He sat down and sipped on his drink happily when the person brought it. He turned on the television and watched the news of what happened at the church earlier.

He laughed when he saw the lifeless face of Isabel as she was being moved into the ambulance.

"Fuck, that hole looks so good on her forehead," he said amidst laughter.

"Boss, is anything the problem?" one of his workers in the house asked him, unable to watch any longer.

"Do I look like I have a problem?" he barked in return and glared at the worker.

"No boss, it's just that you are acting a bit wie...rd tonight," the worker replied.

"I don't have any problem, in fact, one of my problems just got taken care of, so no need to worry about me," he replied to the greatest shock of his workers.

He usually doesn't give long answers to a question, his answers were always a sentence or two but tonight he answered them casually. They decided to let him be, whatever was going on would be made known to them when the time comes.

Sipping on his wine he wondered how Mrs. Catherine would be taking the news of her daughter and son-in-law being dead.

"She's gonna be crying by now," he thought with happiness.

"Let me give her a call and see how she is doing," he said. It wasn't like he cares, she could cry the ocean if she wants and he still won't give two shits about her.

He picked up one of his phones, and with a private number, he dialed her number and she picked up immediately as if she was expecting it.

"Hello, who am I speaking with?" she asked on the other side.

"Hello Ex mother-in-law, did you enjoy my wedding gifts?" he chuckled, trying to taunt her. He knew he was doing a great job at it, no one would be fine after what he just did.

"Daniel! "she called to confirm if it was him.

"Oh yes Ex mother-in-law, it's me, your beloved Ex son-in-law," he replied, adding fuel to the already burning fire.

"Listen to me you God-damned idiot if anything happens to my family, I swear I will find you and make sure I send you to the devil. Do you understand me," she screamed at him but he only laughed like a maniac before replying.

"No you listen to me, I will not stop until I see you crumble on your feet. I will hunt you down and make you pay for what you did to me, this is just the beginning you will feel my wrath and I promise you will never have peace until you die," he said as a matter of fact.

"Oh, you wanna threaten me?" How about you come out of the shadows and stop hiding like the coward you are, I will find you and you will kill..." She didn't get to finish as Dan hung up on her.

"Let's see you try bitch," Dan said to himself and continued sipping on his wine.

He is not bothered about them finding his location. His mobile phone can never be tracked so he has no worries. His smiling face slowly turned to an evil and devilish one as the thought about his past and how he is going to deal with the Jacobs.

He picked up his phone and lit a cigarette as he made his way to his home office to work.

He walked in and sat down with piles of documents on the office table, Dan sighed with rage as he knew it was going to be another night without having a wink of sleep.

"That idiot!" he scoffed, gritting his teeth.

He picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Hello!" a deep voice said on the first ring.

"How dare you bring lots of work to my office?" Dan asked with anger.

"Calm down bro, you know why you are doing all this... You need to work hard to get the loan you are asking for. I'm only helping out to show father how hardworking you are so he would entrust you with the loan with the hope you would pay it back quickly because of how hardworking you have become," the voice said with a light chuckle.

"This is too much, I can't even imagine that my younger brother would do such a thing to me. I'm your elder brother, you didn't even care to show me some respect," Dan scoffed.

"I'm in charge now Big Bro, if you still want anything from the family's company... you are going to work towards it. There is no respect when it comes to business," the voice replied.

"Arrgh!" Daniel groaned with anger.

"I will make sure I stand back, and take everything back from you, you are going to pay for all of this mess," Dan promised to breathe heavily.

"Until then, you have to lick my feet to achieve what you want while I'm the boss now," the voice mockingly replied.

"Ben!" Dan yelled and the line went dead which left him in suspense.
