Nikola POV
“Are you ready for dinner angel?” I asked stepping into our room.
“Almost, I just need to pack my computer up.” Cyra answered shuffling around the room.
My head was still spinning from the conversation I just had with King James. Him suggesting that I allow Cyra the opportunity to choose if she would like to have a separate relationship with Theo. My wolf was not pleased with the suggestion, and neither was I.
“Can I ask you something before we go?” I tried to keep my tone casual.
“Anything!”
Nikola POV As we flew over the ocean Cyra stirred slightly in the seat next to me. I kept my eyes on her, truly amazed that such a strong woman came from such a crap hand of life. She was almost set up for failure at every major turn in life, yet she managed to get past it. I was relieved she finally had some answers. The story of Cael and Helga kept playing over in my head. Theo is no angel, but in a way, I could understand the similarities. Maybe Cael was wrong. He told Cyra she needed to be prepared for loss. After my conversation with the king, I know I have a way to stop that. “Theo, you awake?” I said low not to wake Cyra. &
Cyra POV As we pulled into the driveway of our house in the woods, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It was dark outside, most people probably gathered at the pack house or in for the night. The temperature had dropped drastically, and the air was damp. “Welcome home my love.” Nikola whispered before kissing my mark. “It’s good to be home.” I said with a sigh. “I’m glad to be back too.” Torvi said rubbing her eyes in the third row of the Tahoe. “I will be glad to formally meet the rest of the family.” Finn
Nikola POV As soon as the pack doctor left, I headed over to Peter’s. I knew this would be a hard conversation to have. Peter had been like a second father to me. More so after my own father had died. I wanted him to understand I was doing what is best for my mate and my family. It was not meant to hurt him at all. Cyra had insisted on joining me. I was glad when the pack doctor advised her to remain in bed for the better part of the next few days. Peter was likely to stop by the house and check in on her. He was a thoughtful Alpha who truly cared about each wolf in his pack. Even wolves in other packs reaching out for help. Finn was almost as adamant as Cyra. He argued that
Cyra POV “I am here Ma’ma.” Came a week voice behind Finn. Prior to stepping aside, Finn glanced back behind him. My adrenalin was rising by the minute knowing something happened. Looking upon my daughter; my feelings were confirmed. “He marked you.” I said in awe looking at Torvi’s new mark resting at the base of her neck. “It’s beautiful.” “I wasn’t the only one.” Finn grumbled taking a seat on the bed. He pulled back his head, baring the left side of his neck. There was a mark similar to Nikola’s that had begun healing.
Nikola POV I arrived back in the garage hearing nothing but hissing and walls cracking. As I entered the room, I saw Theo standing over Jackson, about to deliver the final blow. I lunged myself at him, pushing him out of the way. Reaching down with my snout, I ripped Jackson’s head from his shoulders. Theo shook off his clothes standing looking at me in confusion. I could see the torment spread across his face. “Is she still alive?” Was all he managed to say. I nodded my head before leaping toward the doorway. Luckily Theo understood and followed me to the back yard. I took him straight to Peter’s bod
Cyra POV Peter’s funeral was fit for a king. Unfortunately, as wolves, we can feel when our Alpha dies. The sudden pain wreaked havoc across the pack lands. The connection I shared with each wolf caused the pain to flow into my body without the ability to stop it. Torvi had been overwhelmed with her new abilities after shifting as well. She was progressing on the same schedule as I did. I was proud and worried at the same time. Once we were within the safety of Finn’s kingdom. I would rest easier. The pyre was built over 6 feet tall. The pack surrounded the area, each of his trusted advisors holding a torch. Nikola said a few words before announcing Peter’s last request in his will. He wanted
Torvi POV This house or… palace is amazing. I walked the halls with Finn after he showed Theo to the room next to my mother and Niko. He was giving me a tour, I felt like I would need at least 4 more before I began to understand where everything was. “Finn… Does it bother you that I am different?” I asked softly. He pulled my hand that he held towards him pulling me into a gentle kiss. I brought my other arm around his neck pulling myself closer to him. Mom was right, the feeling with your mate is like nothing before. I was beyond grateful I would experience it as a human and more so as a wolf. “Or wh
Cyra POV I was delighted to be staying in the most beautiful castle in Ireland. The excitement from the walk in took so much out of me, Niko insisted I rested. Even Theo agreed with him. I argued with them both before crashing the moment my head touched the pillow. I felt like the pregnancy was in overdrive. I had been sleeping and eating as if I was a newborn. Theo tried to convince me it was normal. That my body was just going to hard growing not one but two babies this time around. Niko was convinced our children were on magical steroids. When I woke from my nap Niko had given me the good news. He said Jessie was occupied for the afternoon and we would be taking a trip with Torvi and Finn
