ログイン~Arya~
He was the last person I had expected to see given his busy nature. In the last couple of days only his men had visited me and I thought that he was too busy to chase after an ordinary woman like myself. But I guess I was wrong. I saw his eyes flicker as he stared around the room until it fell back on my face then lower to my chest where my name tag was pinned on my black shirt. “Arya—” “What do you want? Don't you have other weak ladies to falsely accuse of murder so you can bail them right out again and be declared as a savior?” I spat out in irritation. I didn't realize I had so much to say in less than three seconds. Karl didn't budge for a while, he just stood there being handsome. He took a long glance at me then chuckled dryly. “Order for table 29” I sighed in relief as I turned around and grabbed the little tray from the cook. He just saved me from whatever awkwardness this was. To my surprise, Karl followed right behind me while I made my journey to the fat man at the other end of the room. “Don't you have better things to do than to follow me around?” I cautioned, fastening my pace a little but it was no match for Karl's long legs. “What's wrong if I follow my wife everywhere?” His words had me freezing for a second. I finally reached the table and placed the tray before the man whose eyes grew excitedly large. “Enjoy your meal.” I offered a tight smile. “You know, there are a lot of servants in our house to serve your meals not the other way around.” I shut my eyes briefly when I heard him speak again, I turned slightly and pointed a finger up at his face. “I don't want this marriage anymore. It's not even considered a marriage. You and I had the pleasure of being a wife and a husband for a day or two but it's all over now—” His eyes flickered dangerously and in the next second, I find myself crashing on his chest. Both of his hands grabbed me by my shoulder and a low gasp left my lips. “It's not over until I say so, Arya.” He gritted through clenched teeth. “I don't pay you nine dollar and thirty cents per hour just so you can frolick around with men in my establishment!” The voice of the familiar annoyed old woman had my back freezing. I turned to her sharply with an apologetic beam on my face. “Ma'am it's not what you think. This young man right here—” “Such an attitude!” Madam Nadia yelled again, both hands falling on her hips. She stared at me then shot Karl a long and mean look. “Get back to work!” She barked, with a strength too much for an older woman like herself. “And no slacking or else you're fired!” Fired? I shook my head immediately. I didn't want to get fired. I needed this job badly so I returned my gaze back to Karl. Madam Nadia's voice already garnered a few attention towards us. “You need to leave—” Karl's gaze left mine and it fell on the older woman who was glaring hard. “Well, she quits.” He answered back. My eyes grew large immediately, I turned to madam Nadia shaking my head in denial. “No!” I protested but it fell on deaf ears. I felt the apron around my waist loosened and a warm hand brushing my skin. I threw my gaze at Karl. There was a slight disturbance in his eyes. “She doesn't need this greasy job.” He continued before tossing the apron to one of the empty tables. “Hey!” Madam Nadia spat. Karl didn't seem to have the patience to stay around longer, he took me by my hand and led me out through the door even though all eyes were on us. He led me to the black SUV parked out front and opened the door. I hesitated, restraining my movement. “I don't want to go anywhere with you, Karl!” I yelled, trying to release my hand from his grip but he was stronger. He didn't bat an eye at my outburst and he didn't seem to care either. “I'm talking to you!” Karl grunted, spared me a brief glance and guided me into the car against my will. He reached for the seatbelt and buckled it ensuring my safety. “You have a lot of anger issues for a woman of your size and height.” He weakly murmured. I shot him a gaze but before I could challenge his words, he closed the door and walked around to the driver's seat. In a few minutes, we hit the road. The car became deafening with silence I couldn't bear anymore. “Where the fuck are you taking me?!” “Home, where you belong not that burger shop with a peanut sized payment.” He responded, his eyes focused on the road. I spared him a brief glance, staring at his side profile. “You need to trust me on this, Arya. We are on the same team—” “No, you're on your nephew's side.” I cut in sharply only to hear him chuckle. “And what do I stand to gain from all these if truly I'm on the same side with my nephew? Why did I show up to get you out of prison and make you my wife?” I was at a loss for words. I could feel his gaze lingering by the side of my face but I chose to stare out of the tinted glass instead. “You have trust issues and I don't blame you for that, after all two grown ass adults turned your love for them into a joke. But all I'm asking from you right now is for you to have a little faith in me. I promise to make it all right.” I couldn't find any words to say so I chose to embrace silence instead but the biggest question still lives rent free in my head. Why didn't he mention to me that Simon was his nephew from the start?~Arya~He was the last person I had expected to see given his busy nature. ~Arya~The atmosphere was very tense and unbearable. Realizing that I was in the midst of people who did everything in their power to lock me up behind bars for a crime that I didn't even commit, I felt the tears I was holding slip out of my eyes and trickled down my face.I tore my gaze off Karl’s cold stare and made for the door immediately. I’d rather be locked away than stay in their midst for one more second.“Arya, wait!”No! My voice echoed in my head. I couldn't find the strength to yell back at him, all that was running through my mind at that moment was to flee from my enemy's territory. I knew someone like Karl Adams was too good to be true for me. I've long ran out of luck and it took me a while to realize this.I just made a fool of myself in front of them.I gasped out loud when a grip caught on my arm. Whoever it was turned me around fully with just a slight pull. My eyes were clouded with tears but I could see the man whose intentions still remained a mystery to me.
At night, I was busy pacing around the room waiting for my husband to show up. He already made it clear that he was looking forward to our wedding night at the registry. I took a long bath and also took my time to shave my pubic hairs, i had to look fresh and clean for my husband. I was dressed in a sexy red nightgown, all that was missing was a man to rip it off my body. An hour passed by and yet no sign of him yet, I left him two hours ago downstairs as he was drinking to himself. After a few more minutes, the door finally opened. I sprang up to my feet, my heart racing as I heard his footsteps walking in. He took a long glance at me before turning his back against me. “What are you doing still up? Go, get some sleep..”His words took me by surprise, embarrassment washed over my face. What must he be thinking about me now? He was the one who got me anxious for no reason at all. “Arya..” He called softly, taking me out of my trance. I turned to him. “Go to bed, it's late alread
~Arya~It's been months since I had a deep and relaxing bath like this one. I completely submerged myself into the bathtub, every tense nerve in my body relaxed as the warm water soaked my skin. “Ahh, that's more like it..”Back at the prison, there wasn't a choice for a warm bath, the water was always freezing cold and you get barely enough time to wash up properly. In the bathtub, I kept on thinking about Karl's offer, it wasn't a really bad deal but i still couldn't help but wonder why he wanted to marry me, I wasn't anything special. I'm very certain that a lot of rich heiress were desperately trying to get his attention. He could easily marry one of them but he chose me. This wasn't a tough decision to make. Who doesn't want to be a billionaire's wife? After my long bath, I wore a robe and returned to my bedroom where I had kept my phone, I was very sure that he must be waiting for a response. I hesitated before I dialed his number. My heart thumped wildly as i stared at the
~Arya~I refused to accept the glass of water Karl was stretching to me at the moment. I squirmed on my seat unable to control my heart from contracting. The pain was unbearable, they betrayed me and the way they sought to get rid of me was by locking me up? I gave those two my all. I made them feel how loved they were by me and yet this is the way they chose to repay my kindness? “I trusted them with my life. Alicia was the one who gave me that knife and I can't remember anything that happened in that room afterwards..” I explained in between sobs. “Did you drink or eat anything that morning?”I fell into a deep thought, what was he suggesting? Could I have been drugged on my wedding day? I suddenly had a very vague memory from that day.“Uh.. yes, I remember drinking a glass of wine or champagne that Alicia...” my words slurred. “.. gave me” The realization hit me hard.I snapped my head to him in shock, I was indeed drugged. That was the reason I was feeling weird that day and a
~Arya~I inhaled a deep breath as soon as I stepped out of the confinement I've spent the last couple of months in. That was a fresh breath of freedom, I stared at the back of my palm, my skin was rough and my fingers long and skinny. I never imagined that I'd ever be a free woman again and all thanks to this unknown man who came to my rescue. I wasn't sure if my landlady would be willing to let me back into my apartment. I watched the lawyer and Karl walk towards the fancy black car at a distance, I stood back without moving. Perhaps this was where we say goodbye to each other. The lawyer got into the front seat and Karl opened the door of the backseat. He hesitated for a second before looking my way. “Are you coming or not?”“Huh?” I was stupified for a second. I pointed to myself in shock while taking a glance around to be sure that he was talking to me. I saw him mutter something under his breath before he left the car and began walking towards me in large strides. He stoppe
