Mira’s POV

I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me.

I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me.

“What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it.

“I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.

“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”

I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished.

“I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.”

“No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.

He stretched out his hand, wanting to see the book. “I just want to see it.”

I shook my head gently, and he chuckled.

“Well then, I guess I'll have to wait till you're ready to show me.” He shrugged, making me smile.

My head instinctively turned to look at the room again. I gently bit my lower lip, wondering what was going on in the room.

“You're worried about him, aren't you?” Khalid chuckled, making me feel embarrassed.

I shook my head, clinging into the book.

“It's okay.” Khalid muttered. “You don't have to be. He's a smart man.”

I got comfortable with Khalid sitting in my space quicker than I thought. He was calm and welcoming. He had a smile that made me feel safe, and somehow, I easily let my guard down.

“The last time someone almost outsmarted him,” Khalid said, taking a deep breath. I wondered why he brought up the topic again when so much time had passed. “He tied the person to a tree and tickled him until he peed all over the place.”

My eyes widened in horror. I wanted to laugh, but I imagined it being done to me.

“The person is me.” He said, and I just couldn't control it anymore. I laughed at the imagination of Khalid being tickled by Alpha Sorren.

That was just the beginning of the jokes Khalid made as he went on and on to make me laugh.

Suddenly, the door where Alpha Sorren and Luna Nia were locked in, opened with a great force. We immediately sprung up.

Luna Nia walked out with disappointment and anger written all over her face.

“Shit. I'm coming.” Khalid muttered, pushing past me to the office. I stood there, confused and disturbed.

“Stay here!” Alpha Sorren’s voice cut through the air as an order to Khalid.

He walked out of the room, looking very predatory. My heart pounded against my chest as his eyes landed on me.

What could be wrong with him? He's never this angry. What's the cause of the sudden change?

By the time I'd raise up my head again, he was standing right before me, towering over me.

“Look at me.” He muttered with a soft tone like he didn't just look like he wanted to tear me apart a few seconds ago.

I slowly raised my head, remembering what he had said to me. I swallowed hard, hoping that he wouldn't just decide to kill me.

My eyes met his, and he still had that ravenous look that made me scared for my life.

“Are… Are you okay, Alpha?” I managed to ask, worried about him.

Suddenly, he took another step closer to me, and I instinctively took one to the back. He didn't stop walking until my back was against a shelf, and he was right in front of me.

“What book are you hugging so tightly?” He asked, making me realize that the book was held so tightly to my chest.

“It's a novel about chefs and bikers.” I muttered, and he nodded, taking another step closer to me. There was now barely an inch between us, making me breathe harder.

“Who are you?” He asked, tilting my head so that our eyes met.

“Sorren.” I muttered, clinging to the wall as he lowered his head.

“I… I… how…” he whimpered.

What's going on? I experienced several levels of confusion as he stood before me, pulling me very close.

All of a sudden, he pulled back. I felt disappointed to a degree, but I also felt relieved.

“I'm sorry.” He lowered his head gently, before aiming for the door. I gently held his hand, only thinking after I had performed the act.

He looked at me, and paused for a second.

“Are… you okay?” I asked, and he nodded gently.

“I heard you laugh, and I'd like to hear it often.” He said, making me shy.

“Thank you.” I muttered, pinning my gaze on my fingers as I fiddled with them.

“Khalid, let's leave.” He ordered, and Khalid stormed out immediately.

At that moment, I felt a terrible ache in my head just like the one I had the previous night. This one was stronger. It felt like the weight of the world had been placed on my shoulders, and I saw my life dimming before my eyes.

“Mira?” Alpha Sorren called, but his voice was beginning to sound distant.

I held my head as the pain hit again.

I heard several distant voices as what was once horizontal started seeming slanted, and then vertical. I was close to hitting the ground when Alpha Sorren caught me.

He shook me severally, but I wasn't feeling anything. My eyes were shut close, but I could see everything happening in my surroundings.

Slowly, the world around me disappeared, but I could still hear Alpha Sorren’s distant voice. I could hear Khalid calling for me to wake up.

I was in a different place. I wasn't scared unlike most times. Heck, I felt confident like the world was beneath me.

The dark area was suddenly filled with several dead people. There was a wash of cold air that made me shiver. The atmosphere was chilly and I could smell murderous intent all over the place.

Luna Nia was in a corner with a sword, watching Alpha Harrison’s body drip with blood. Alpha Sorren was on the floor also, losing too much blood from his neck.

I was immediately scared, and the confidence I initially felt disappeared. I tried running towards him, but my legs felt so heavy that they wouldn't move.

I looked at my feet, trying to help them move, and that was when I caught sight of my hands.

They were filled with blood. The stench of the blood felt very familiar. I raised my head again, gently this time, and I saw the person I had killed.

My hands were stained with Alpha Sorren’s blood!

Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever

Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him

Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 13.

Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 12.

Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
