I could hear the roaring engine, and I could feel the speed at which the car moved like we all had nine lives. Someone was holding me, and he smelled just like the person I had bumped into at the borders of the Stone Creek pack. “How far away are we?” He asked with a rough voice, and I felt my body vibrate. I remained silent despite the sharp pain I felt in my head. I was trying to analyze the situation to see if I'd have to escape again, or even if it was possible. “In thirty minutes, we'd be there.” The other person spoke. He sounded soft spoken, but I could tell that it'd be the opposite of his character. “Make it twenty.” The Alpha growled, and the car moved even faster. I slowly opened my eyes, and thankfully, it was still dark. I didn't have to acclimatize to light. “I know you're awake.” He said, just as I was about to open my eyes. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, opening my eyes completely. “You don't have to pretend around me.” I suddenly remembered that he had just rejected me. How'd I have expected to be accepted by an Alpha of all persons? And not just even an Alpha, but a handsome one? “Erm… erm…” I muttered, and he calmly sat me down, ridding himself of me. “Khalid, go slowly now.” He growled, and the car moved at a considerably slower pace. “Thank… you…” I muttered. “Do you even know what happened?” He asked, and my eyes widened. Does he want me to mate also? Will he force me to mate? It seems I'm always moving from frying pan to fire. “Erm… no.” I muttered, fixing gaze on my clasped fingers, feeling my hands shake as the thoughts of what could be enveloped me. “I'm not doing any of that.” He muttered, and my heart felt lighter. I heaved a sigh of relief, and closed my eyes gently. “You can speak freely.” He didn't look at my face throughout the time he spoke. I knew not because I looked at him, but because I couldn't feel his eyes biting into my skin. “Why did you buy me?” I asked, closing my eyes. “I also don't know.” He shrugged. “I guess we'll find out.” Tears welled up in my eyes as I couldn't comprehend why a total stranger, an Alpha, would just decide to save me from my misery and pay for me. “I… I… I promise to repay whatever amount you spent buying me. I'd work hard to ensure I do.” I cried softly, making sure no whimper made it out of my mouth. He scoffed, shaking his head. “Can you pay a million, five hundred thousand dollars?” The driver, Khalid, asked. My eyes widened, and I coughed immediately. I stopped speaking and Khalid drove a little faster. Why would anyone pay such a huge amount for me? My heart melted at the thought of it. “To be honest, I also paid for killing the idiot that chased you.” The Alpha said, and I turned to look at him. He killed Jamie. I felt so much relief at the sound of that. “What's your name?” I asked, and he scoffed, looking at me with his face folded into a frown. I immediately looked away from him, grabbing the hem of my garment as I could feel his eyes on me. “Sorren.” He muttered. “My name is Sorren Raven.” He said calmly, and I nodded. I didn't speak a word until we arrived at his pack. The air was different, and so was the smell of the place. It felt fresher and calmer. Being so close to death had made me lose every bit of horniness that I felt although the blood moon was still out. Khalid eased into a part of what looked more like a castle than a mansion. Khalid opened the door for me, and I found myself beside Alpha Sorren. He was very tall, and he had interestingly big biceps. Maybe my greatest accomplishment was having him as a goddess given mate, even if it was for a very few seconds. We were met immediately by someone with a staff. He had an aura that confirmed that he wasn't just a witch, but a seer. He was young, and his eyes were closed. He looked like he had been waiting. “Thalos, what's going on?” Alpha Sorren asked, looking disturbed. “We have to move really quickly, because she will soon show herself to men, and we can’t tell what'd happen.” He said. Alpha Sorren seemed very concerned by Thalos’ speech. “Why now?” Alpha Sorren asked, and I felt terrible about eavesdropping. I wasn't even trying because they were being loud about it. “Let's go in and speak better about it.” Thalos said, and his eyes opened for the first time. I almost fell to the ground, seeing that he had scaled covering his eyes. Khalid stood behind me to ensure that I didn't fall. “Something triggered her abilities.” Thalos said as we approached the building. “Nothing is clear to me yet, but I'll wait for the guidance of the spirits and ancient ones.” On entering the huge house, a lady that would be defined as absolute beauty ran towards us. Her white skin looked so milky, and I could tell that it glows in the sunlight. She had very long hair, and her eyes were blue. She had perfect curves in the right places. She was wearing a red nightgown. I bowed my head as she hugged Alpha Sorren. They kissed sharply, and I felt another pang of pain in my chest. Only a pretty Luna for the handsome Alpha. “I almost thought you'd abandon me tonight.” She muttered, very soft spoken. “I wouldn't dare.” He growled. She cast her eyes on me, and I could feel it although I wasn't looking. “Nobody. Go and wait for me upstairs.” He commanded, and she followed his commands immediately. “Raina.” Alpha Sorren called, and a slim lady of average height rushed out of one of the rooms, looking very calm. “Alpha.” She muttered, bowing her head. “This is Mira. Show her around, and give her a personal room. Wash her body and get her new clothes.” He ordered. “I'll be around by morning to instruct her.” “Yes Alpha.” He growled. He turned to leave, and tears welled up in my eyes again. “Thank you, Alpha.” I muttered but he didn't respond. He was too busy speaking with the seer. “Come with me.” Raina muttered. I sighed, closing my eyes. This is my life now.Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever
Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand
Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him
Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h
Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She
Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
