The Fairy’s Dragon Guardian
Chapter 3: Long Time No See
TEN YEARS LATER
Crystal’s POV
“Queen Fae, the latest report stated that the enemies are quickly approaching the borders of this world. Several attacks were recorded in different cities and the casualties are increasing. That is why, the Chief especially asked for your appearance in the meeting today.”
I massaged my temples. My headache is exhausting me.
I received the same kind of report for three consecutive weeks. At first, I thought that it was only a simple attack of the dark forces, but hearing that they are already launching an attack means that they don’t have the intention to retreat this time.
I took the report from my aide and read its contents. Stated here is the Chief’s wish to meet with the seven heads of the immortal realm for a meeting scheduled this afternoon.
I turned to Sarah, my aide and a pure-blooded water fairy, “Prepare the car and we’ll leave right away after I finish this last document.”
“Noted, Queen Fae.”
“Hmm.”
After that, she bowed her head and went out of the door. I finished the document in no time.
I went out of my office and went straight to the car after picking up a random coat hanging by the door. Although it is still summer now, the wind of the coming autumn is quite chilly. We fairies are susceptible to the cold, and I am not exempted.
There were already many people when we arrived at the location. It was in a big mansion hidden at the heart of the Mystical Forest, away from the bustling of the city and meddling human beings.
I can see many familiar faces from the window of my car. They were people from other clans, some I met before, and some are new faces.
As I got down from the car, I spotted a man with his back facing me. Somehow, he felt familiar but for some reason, I couldn’t remember where I met him. Anyway, if he’s here, then that means he was one of the people the Chief especially asked to attend.
“Queen Fae, you’ve arrived. I was waiting for you since earlier.”
She is the Queen Phoenix, Lumara Ignia, one of the respected ladies in the Immortal Realm.
I curtsied and smiled at her.
“Phoenix Queen, we haven’t seen each other for years. How are you doing?”
“I’m just as well. I was waiting for you to tell you good news.”
“There is good news at this time? I’ve only ever heard of bad news.”
I chuckled and looked at her. Lumara, however, looked serious. So what good news is that, really?
Lumara inched closer to me and whispered to my ears, “The Dragon King is in attendance of this meeting. I am only telling you this and no one else.”
“You mean, the Dragon King who never made an appearance during annual meetings?”
“Yes, him! He’s here today, and I heard that the Chief begged him to come today.”
I couldn’t help but say, “He’s really powerful.”
Lumara nodded her head in agreement before urging me to go inside the mansion.
There was a round table at the center of the office and chairs for each head of the clan in attendance. I looked at the seat reserved for me. As I sat down, I noticed that the reserved seat next to me was for the Dragon King.
I looked at Lumara next to me and asked her, “Is this a mistake? He was arranged next to me.”
Lumara widened her eyes, “That must be the Chief’s arrangement.”
“But why?”
“Dragons and Fairies are at the top of the pyramid in the Immortal Realm. It’s only right that you’re seated next to each other.”
I couldn’t help but winced. I abandoned my title as ‘Mrs Chent, Oliver’s wife’, but now I have to bear the weight of my present title as the Queen Fae.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when the door opened, revealing two men. The one on the left was an old man with white hair and his hands placed behind his back. Behind him was a well-built man, around the same age as me. His head was lowered so I couldn’t see his face clearly, adding the shadow caused by the chandelier hanging above.
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for accepting this humble old man’s invitation to attend this meeting at this time of the year. Today, I finally persuaded the Dragon King to show his face. Please welcome him.”
The people sitting around the table stood up and gave the man a round of applause. As soon as he raised his head and roamed his eyes around the place, his two black orbs landed on me.
I stood frozen on my feet and stared back at him. It feels like the world stopped revolving and the people around us disappeared.
‘Why are you here?’
Chapter 87: First Day of TrainingThird Person’s POVWhen it was Kian’s turn, he was almost shaking from nervousness although he is a prince himself.Theodore looked at Kian on the stage. He was about to say something when he saw him nervously pulling on his wooden sword, but he suddenly took the attack stance.Theodore pulled the corners of his lips and continued watching him. Every time Kian wields his wooden sword in the air, Theodore could feel the power emanating from within. Theodore nodded his head and underlined Kian’s name. The next person was Oliver. Theodore squinted his eyes, but he wasn’t a petty person to use this exam to get back at Oliver.
Chapter 86: OverthinkingThird Person’s POV“Is it my fault that fairies are more fragile than you expected?”“I thought you’d be at least stronger than your people. You’re the Queen Fae after all.”“So what? I have weak qualities too, okay?”Crystal rolled her eyes at Oliver for having seen through her intentions. She was already exhausted and wanted to rest.Kian put his wooden sword on his back and wiped his sweat.“Queen Fae, you’re indeed a little weak. Want me to teach you how to appear stronger?”
Chapter 85: Cousins Third Person’s POVAfter two hours of practice, Stella and Theodore were both sweating so Oliver gave them water. He ignored the suspicious glances of his father and continued wiping his mother’s sweat. Theodore squinted his eyes at him and sent him daggers using his eyes. Oliver treated him like air. Stella needed to return after the practice so Oliver didn’t hold her back any more. Before they left, Theodore stood beside him. In a cold voice, he said, “Although you looked as handsome as me, Stella is mine.”Oliver clicked his tongue, “Childish.” Oliver stared at their departing backs for a long time. No one knows what he was thinking. As he stood there staring at the direction they left, he felt someone’s presence beside him. There was no need for him to turn, as the person started speaking. “Just as I told you, we need to be careful so they won’t know we are not from this timeline.” Oliver sighed, “I know. I was just watching here.” “Then what about thos
Chapter 84: Stella and TheodoreThe auntie tilted her head and shook her head, “I’m afraid we don’t have what you are looking for, young man. Roses came from the south while the flowers I sell all came from the local area. Transport is more expensive than the flower itself.”“I see.”“You must be a foreigner, right?”Oliver nodded his head. The auntie enthusiastically started chattering, “Although you are a foreigner, I am willing to tell you something. Roses are hard to come by so we sell white camellias. It is perfect if you’re giving it to your parents. They’ll surely love it.”
Chapter 83: Swordsmanship RecruitmentThird Person’s POVUsing the fabric Crystal found in the hut, she made makeshift clothes for the three of them. They looked a little crook due to her lousy needle work. She wanted to use powers, but refrained from using. It could make others feel their presence.Kian was frowning all the way to the town after being forced by Oliver to wear it, but Oliver was smiling like a fool.“You really are your father’s child. How can your stupid smiles look the same?”With a smug expression, Oliver said, “Being handsome is just in our blood.”“At least I don’t look stupid like you.&r
Chapter 82: Thousand Years AgoThird Person’s POVKian doesn’t want to answer her question at all, but Oliver was also looking at him with the same question written on his face.Crystal alone wasn’t easy to handle, as he couldn’t win against her face at all. But coupled with Oliver’s not-so-cute face, the attack was very lethal.Dragons, just like wolves, inherently know that they are to be led by someone who is more powerful. The fact that Kian is facing the Dragon King, even if Oliver is a fire dragon and he’s a water dragon, he could feel how powerful he is.Kian stood in an upright manner and looked at the group of people practicing swordsmanship, with Oliver’s
Chapter 81: Frozen TimeThird Person's POV“Oliver! Don’t touch them!”“Crystal!”He heard Crystal yell, but it was too late. The person in front of him slowly moved his body. Before the person could fully turn his body to look at the person who hit his shoulder, Oliver quickly ran to Crystal and grabbed her wrists.“We should get out of here!”One by one, the people woke up from their frozen state and looked towards the direction of Crystal and Oliver.Towards the man Crystal was talkin
Chapter 80: PossessorThird Person’s POVJethro smiled and glanced at the petrified Oliver. “Although wasabi wasn’t to my taste at all, you should really know when and where to stop.” Oliver could barely calm down. He thought that he could awaken Jethro, but the methods he used were barely enough to awaken even a part of him. He knew that when he looked into his eyes. They were clouded with dark clouds and he could hardly see the light. Just how strong was the person behind the possession? “Let go of her, or I won’t be lenient.” Jethro smirked, “That wouldn’t be fun. Come and get her while she’s still breathing and her heart’s still beating. The game’s just starting.” “Are you sure you can take it?” “I can take it. I’m not so sure about the owner of this body though.” Oliver gritted his teeth, “I see. You better be prepared.” “I always am.” While still strangling Snow, Jethro moved his body and jumped in the air, dodging Oliver’s kick. Jethro held both ends of the cloth wit
Chapter 79: Why shouldn’t I?Third Person’s POVJethro merely tilted his head without any change in his expression. A big question hangs above Snow’s head, not understanding what Oliver was saying. For a moment, she became oblivious of the pain on her neck. She tried to look at the person holding her, intensifying the cut on her neck. Oliver took a step forward, while Jethro took one backward. They kept doing that until the back of Jethro’s knees touched the low table. “I’ll give you her number right now. Let go of her, alright?” Jethro stared right at Oliver, a snicker slowly forming on his lips, “I asked for Queen Fae’s number, not the Fox Princess’. Don’t make me look stupid.” Oliver ignored what he said and continued. “No, you really asked me for Snow’s number. You even begged me on your knees, don’t you remember that?” “I didn’t ask for her number!” Jethro gritted his teeth and only pressed the sharp edge of glass on Snow’s neck. Snow hissed, trying to get free from Jeth
