The Fall Of Alpha Zane
The Fall Of Alpha Zane
Author: Kiss Bella

Alpha Zane

"Zane, we're almost at the pack border," Amelia said, looking around.

*Flashback, Two days ago*

Amelia walked inside her brother's, their pack Alpha office to deliver a piece of very important news to him, she didn't bother to knock because she was in haste and her brother wouldn't mind if he hears about it.

"Why the hell didn't you knock Amelia? That's what the door is for you know.."

"We don't have that much time to argue now, I just heard that the Alpha of three packs ahead of us died, so all the Alpha's of neighboring packs would meet at  Inferno da Luciano to share the pack. I heard that the Alpha's met and decided where to meet, but our pack wasn't even included in all the planning".

"Where did you say they would meet again?"He asked her calmly.

"Inferno da Luciano, why? do you plan on attending when you weren't informed?"

"Of course I would attend, it's a matter concerning neighboring packs, they would all be shocked when they see me" he smirked evilly.

"Amelia, make plans you would journey with me in two days to Inferno da Luciano, do not be late. Also inform Robert about it".

Amelia left the office to go in search of Robert to inform him about the turn of events and also to shop a little, she would need to make a grand entrance.

Zane mind-linked his Beta to come into his office immediately so that he would inform him of the event.

*End of flashback*

As Alpha Zane raised his head, his wolf shook its fur, suggesting that he had been restless for a few days.

He doesn't know what was wrong with his wolf; he'd gotten up early, which was unusual and he was anxious and impatient to get to Inferno da Luciano, which was both shocking and suspicious because it was the first time he'd expressed such a desire to go out.

As soon as they got to the border, he became more alert, as if he expected something odd to happen. He seemed concerned as if he was aware of something Alpha Zane wasn't.

One of the border guards led them to a chamber where they awaited the arrival of all the Alphas of the neighboring pack.

"Alpha Zane, it gives me great joy to welcome you here; to what do I owe this visitation?" Alpha Liam said as he extended his hand for a handshake.

"It’s my pleasure, I heard of the gathering of Alpha's, so I thought it would be nice to attend too, After all, I am an Alpha too right?" Alpha Zane’s tone was icy and unapologetic, and he did not attempt to apologize.

"Let me introduce you to my pack members," he added, extending his hand to a big man standing next to him. Ace, my Beta, and his mate, Rosie, and on his left, Jakob, my Gamma, and his mate Carl, and this is my gorgeous mate, Hana..." He wandered off, looking to the right and left to see whether there was anyone else he hadn't yet introduced. The other members of the group turned to look at him, puzzled as to why he was looking around.

He fixed his focus on his Beta, who shrugged and grinned half-heartedly.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," Liam apologizes overly politely. "The last member I was going to introduce you to is nowhere to be found," he continues.

"Would you mind telling me who he is?" Intriguingly, Alpha Zane inquired.

Shirley is the lady in question's name. "She's the Beta's younger sister," he explained.

Alpha Zane’s wolf became agitated when Liam said her name, but he was able to calm him down. Liam invited them to join him for dinner in the dining room.

As soon as Alpha Zane walked into the dining area, he was welcomed by a beautiful scent. His Alpha sense heightened almost instantaneously, and before he knew it, I was sniffing around, trying to figure out where the scent was coming from.

The scent led him to a place he thinks to be the pack's kitchen, and as he was about to enter, the door sprang open, displaying the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

"Mate..." He couldn't stop himself because the word slipped out of his mouth before I understood what I was saying. This is unusual for me because I am always in command of myself and never say anything without first thinking it through.

When I turned to face her, she had a scared expression on her face and appeared pale, as if she was ready to pass out.

"Is there a problem, Shirl?" someone asked.

Alpha Zane had barely registered who had spoken or what had been said; his mind was racing with various notions, the most disturbing of which was whether she was of a Beta ancestry.

"Does it make a difference?" his wolf begged him.

"No, it doesn't," Zane replied adamantly, "but I told you my conditions for accepting her."

"This is ridiculous and absurd," his wolf snapped.

Anyone who happened to be around would have been startled by the speed with which Alpha Zane’s eyes changed their color. He was convinced at the time that he looked like a psychopath.

He switched off his wolf and looked into Shirley's emerald eyes. She must still be in shock because she stared blankly at him, oblivious to the fact that she was being severely shaken.

"Alpha Zane, what happened?" Mickey asked.

Alpha Zane ignored him and ran out of the house; he could hear his name being called, but he ignored everyone and fled into the pack's woods, where he could think straight. He would have transitioned into his wolf form, but knowing him, the stubborn idiot would have gone back to his mate.

His claws were out, his eyes had turned crimson, and his growls filled the forest as a result of his internal conflict. It was tough to contain his wolf, who was trying to escape.

"Just go to her, Zane," his wolf encouraged, trying to take control of his body.

"Shut up!" Alpha Zane yelled.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, Zane; once you've seen her, you won't be able to keep her away for long; just accept her now; there's no need to wait," he said emphatically.

"I warned you!" Alpha Zane, I yelled angrily. “Why can't you just be quiet and listen to me for a change?”

He felt something drop down his nose, and when he reached out to touch it, he realized it was blood; he had begun bleeding as a result of his fight with his wolf. He was about to return because he couldn't stay hidden in the forest much longer, but his wolf's following words halted him in his tracks.

"Have you considered the possibility that she'll go into heat now that we've located her?"

In his tracks, he came to a complete halt. He didn't think about it; in fact, he was too outraged to think about anything.

"Then it's best if she comes with us to the packhouse," Alpha Zane said.

"To do what exactly? You've rejected her, and you don't want any other man to mate with her now, do you? Isn't that a little selfish?" His wolf made fun of him.

"F*ck you!" Alpha Zane let out a snarl.

"You'll be sorry, Zane," he said. "The moon goddess mated us with her for a reason, and we can't defy her commands."

That sneaky bitch that claims to be the Moon Goddess! She's probably hoping for history to repeat itself!" His tone was laced with resentment.

"Do not be fooled; she is not doing anything wrong; it is you who is letting your anxieties and fears cloud your judgment," his wolf clarified. "You are not the only one who has suffered; I too, have endured in the same way you have, but it does not stop me from looking for my spouse. After all, she is our mate, and that cannot be changed. Just know that if everything goes wrong and you begin to regret your actions and you need me, I will not be there!" He completely turned Zane off, and he felt hollow as a result.

"Zane," someone called out, and he turned to see his sister, brother, and Beta standing nearby."

"Is it true, bro?" With a smile on his face, Robert inquired.

"What?" Alpha Zane inquired coldly, striving to appear unconcerned.

"Isn't she your mate, the Beta's sister?" He kept smiling, which infuriated Alpha Zane so much that he wanted to punch him in the face.

"Yes," Zane murmured.

"How are you going to deal with it?" Amelia asked.

"Nothing," Zane replied.

"What do you mean by 'nothing'? Is she supposed to mate with herself?" Amelia screamed in horror.

"Do I look like I care?" He asked incredulously.

"What about her heat?" Robert inquired further.

“Ans what about the heat? I retaliated angrily.

“Why do you keep bringing up the subject of her heat?” Alpha Zane was already going wild at the prospect of someone else touching her or breeding with her.

"If you don't want her, you may give her to me; after all, I'm still unmarried and I promise to keep her safe… Oh, how I would adore that lovely figure..."

Alpha Zane didn't even give Robert a chance to finish his sentence before slamming him into a nearby tree. "You'll never dare!" Don't even think about it, let alone say it again!” He yelled angrily, and his wolf emerged when he heard his statements.

"So, make up your mind; you're implying that you don't want her and you don't want to let her go; when did you go insane?" His sister had asked. “I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you either want her or you don't. Make your decision as soon as possible so that if you decide you don't want her, she can be taken by someone else!”

"Alpha Zane…" he heard his name over the wonderful scent that surrounded him, he knew it was Shirley.

He pushed his brother to the ground and turned to face her with a thud.

"Can I speak with you for a minute?" she requested timidly.

"Everyone leave!" He let out a snarl.

Amelia stared at me pleadingly, imploring me not to do anything stupid, by which she meant reject her. Amelia gazed at me with begging eyes, silently telling me not to do anything stupid, while Robert threw me a warning glance, challenging me to do something dreadful.

He took a close look at her as soon as they left them alone, and he must admit, she is a very gorgeous woman.

"I'm sorry the moon goddess paired us together," she rambled, "if there was a way I could reverse it, I would, but I do not have the power to do so," she continued, "if you wish to reject me, I would certainly understand," she said, looking down at her feet because she was afraid to look him in the eyes.

Alpha Zane chuckled glumly. "The moon goddess must have been joking when she paired me with a weakling like you," he said icily.

"Then reject me," she pleaded, "so that I can leave freely."

"No!" he said fiercely.

"No?" she asked.

"No, you'd come with me to my pack," he said, his face expressionless.

"I'd be glad to see what the moon goddess would do when I show her how foolish she is for belittling me."

He could hear her gasp in surprise at his arrogance, but it was quickly replaced by a blank face.

"Fine, if it's the moon goddess' will that I die in the arms of my partner, so be it." But you can bet I'm not going down without a fight!" She had a determined look on her face that tugged at his heartstrings.

His heart softened a little when he learned she thought he was going to kill her and was preparing herself for death, but he quickly shut the thoughts down when an image of his mother flashed before his eyes.

"It's a good thing you're not dumb as well as a weakling, since you already know where you stand, and I'm relieved I won't have to go through the stress of telling you that," he said, staring her down.

"When are they leaving?" she asked fearlessly.

"Before daylight,” he scoffed at her bravery.

"Alright, I'll start packing right away; I'm sure you don't want to be late, am I right Alpha sir?"

Her words were tinged with sarcasm, which he caught upon. He ignored her and returned to the packhouse, which was bustling with activity.

Alpha Zane grabbed one of the guards stationed near the door. "As quickly as possible, get me your Alpha and his Beta! I have an important announcement to make," he said.

The guard rushed into the house and out again, the Alpha and Beta following closely behind. "Alpha Zane, I hope there is no problem?” Alpha Liam asked

"Your sister is my mate!" " Alpha Zane said that without emotion and immediately, the entire pack fell silent the instant those words left his mouth.
