Prologue
Dim light flickered in the small shack. The full moon hung high above, displayed as a witness. A man paced in front of the building. His sandy blonde hair ruffled countless times from the impatience he felt and the growing knot in his stomach. He was nervous, yet overwhelmed with excitement. The common feelings of child birth. A yell paused his next step and turned him to the window. The curtain had been closed for privacy, but he could see the silhouettes of two midwives shifting in and out of sight. He caught the scent of the two women that were assisting, and his Mate. He sensed her pain and wished he could relieve her of it. Then it came. A baby's cry. He stared as the door opened after what felt like ages. When it finally opened, one midwife stepped out, cradling a bundle of blankets in her arms. She met his gaze and smiled warmly at him as she nodded. "Come, Beta. Meet your daughter." The woman said as she raised her arms slightly in gesture to the infant in them. His heart

Lily pinched the bridge of her nose and folded her arms across her chest. "I'm sorry, what?" She repeated her question to the strangers at her vacation home. "A descendant? Of whom?" "Oh, well..." Willow brushed her fingers through her short black hair. "It's rather complex to explain." She lifted her gaze to Lily. She could see the regret flicker in them for a moment. "This wasn't how I hoped to share this with you." "What she is trying to say..." Dante rested a hand on Willow's shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "She's sorry, along with the rest of us, to have dropped in unannounced and dropped this bombshell on you." He glanced over at Jayce. "You know I do not have any ill intentions towards you or your family. None of us do." "I hate to disagree with you." Jayce growled softly while he maintained eye contact with Aiden. Aiden returned the glare in kind. "This will not be some Alpha versus Alpha fight off, is it?" Amira asked as she looked at them. When the two Werewo

His hand ran over the space beside him. He grudgingly opened his eyes to find his Mate missing from his bedside. He sat up and glanced around the open room. The gentle crash of the waves came in through the open balcony. Salt. Seaweed. Lilies. Tangled in with the mix of scents that drifted into their room, Jayce pushed himself out of bed to search for her. Ever since these strangers arrived, she had been quiet. Distant. He couldn't blame her. How could one fully comprehend the bombshell they dropped on her so suddenly? Without even knowing who she was? He stepped out onto the balcony after tossing on sweats to find Lily standing out on the beach. He sighed to himself as he silently admired her for a moment. The full moon shined brighter than usual this night. The scatter of stars that blanket the sky and no cloud in sight to block the view. Moonlight enveloped her in radiance. Her golden locks shined nearly a blinding white. Angelic. Jayce froze as he thought of that. After what t

"Mom, do we have to go back now?" Myra whined. "We didn't even swim with the sharks yet." The Wolf pup pouted with disappointment. Lily smiled sadly at her daughter as she zipped up her luggage. "I know, sweetie, but something came up and your father and I need to handle it right away." Myra hopped up on the bed she finished making. "Is it about this Karmina lady?" "And how do you know about her?" Lily asked as she rested her hands on her hips. "You weren't eavesdropping, were you?" "No." Myra avoided Lily's gaze. Lily inclined her head and continued to stare at her silently. Myra finally looked at her and rolled her eyes. "Okay, I did. It's not like you all were quiet, anyway." "Myra." Lily said disappointedly. She looked at her daughter for a moment. She reached out and ran her fingers through her blonde hair with black streaks. Unnatural to many, but Lily adored it. She loved how different the children were compared to other pups. Was that another reason for her identity cris

Erica burst into laughter. "I'm sorry. This is a joke, right?" She asked them. Once everyone settled in, Willow explained the situation to her. As expected of Erica, she laughed at the hilarity of it. Jayce sat out for a moment to get the children settled and to take care of a few things in the Pack House. Their sudden arrival back home with no notice set off an alarm to his security, and it was safest if he handled it away from the house. Lily didn't object, though she wished he was with her to go through this ordeal a second time. Thankfully, Damion, her other moral of support alongside Erica had arrived shortly before Jayce had left and filled him in on the unexpected guests. To say the least, Damion was equally not as welcoming to the bunch as Jayce originally was. She knew he smelt it in each of them. Their distinct differences. Especially Zalakai. Lily set down a small tray on the coffee table with cookies and pasties. "I have tea, coffee and water if anyone would like any."

He tossed back the shot glass; the liquid burned his throat. "I know I agreed to go along with hearing them out, but what they claim is still ridiculous." He grumbled to himself. He stood beside the large tree that played as a centerpiece to his garden. One of Lily's favorite places to go when she desired serenity. Now she retreated to the piano room and locked the door to refrain him from entering. The declaration where she is this Angel, Werewolf and Witch hybrid creature overwhelmed her and she instantly shut down. He couldn't blame her, though, and he had grown to give her the space necessary to process such news. But this. This sort of thing he wanted to be with her on. To know what was going inside her head. Yet, only one figure in her life can and he's barely spoken up since this whole ordeal started. "You've been awfully quiet, Nox." He leaned his back against the tree. "If you don't speak up, I'm coming in." Still rather impatient, aren't you? "Only because it's about L

"Okay, I have the wine." Erica called out as she entered the room. "Erica, that's three bottles of wine." Lily called her out. "Darling, we may need a fourth and fifth bottle, depending how tonight goes." Erica told her honestly. "My hubby is also delivering us pizzas any minute now." She set the bottles on the small coffee table. After Jayce and Lily agreed to have a sit down with them, it was arranged to have the discussions at the Pack House. Penelope volunteered to hang back at the house with the children while waiting for Derek to land. However, getting through the Pack House was... challenging. With Jayce's warriors stationed at the Pack House, all eyes, ears and noses were on them the moment they all arrived. It would have been easier if it was just herself, Jayce, Damion and Erica coming through. Even with the additional Humans walking through the building, the attention wouldn't be as bad. However, a Vampire, A Rogue Werewolf, a Witch and a Demon were thrown into the mix.

Jayce sat back in his chair as he surveyed the group closely. The ice clinked in his whiskey glass as he brought it to his lips. Dante sat poised, with one leg crossed over the other. He was a defined gentleman to the letter with his black slacks and dark red button up. His dark hair had grown a little since the last time he saw him. The golden eyes shimmered as he took a sip from his own whiskey glass. Though, being a Vampire, he most likely wanted something else to drink instead. He didn't know the man well enough, but he was respectable and well versed in the world's knowledge. Amongst the group all together, he was the most trustworthy. He shifted his gaze to Aiden next, who filled his whiskey glass to the brim and practically downed it. There wasn't anything good to say about the Wolf. He's a Rogue. A defiant Alpha. On top of all of that, blood related them to one another. They couldn't be anymore different, though. The man sat with dirty jeans and work boots with a black fitte

"And then he..." The door opened abruptly, and stalled Lily from finishing her story. Jayce towered in the doorway. She bit her lip as he glanced around the room until his eyes settled on the broken lamp on the floor. "Jayce!" She smiled brightly as she rushed over to him and grabbed his hand. "We were telling stories, and I had to share a bunch with them about you." She pulled him into the room to show him off and noticed Dante, Zalakai, Aiden and Damion followed him. "Lily." He stopped her and sniffed her hair. "Have you been drinking?" He asked her. "Yeah, but it was only..." She stopped and counted on her fingers. "This many!" She held up one finger on each hand. Jayce looked over at Erica, who held up six fingers instead. "Can you say my name again? It gives me butterflies." She giggled. "She's very giddy and childish when she's drunk?" Damion asked as he slipped past everyone and joined Erica at her side. "Oh, it gets better." She nudged him gently. "This is just a portion

Jayce! Wake up! A crash startled him awake. He bolted upright, his hand landed in the space Lily had been sleeping in. A light blinded his vision from the open doorway into the lounging area. With that light, he heard gusts of wind as if a tornado had been set off in the other room. It's Lily! I can't reach her! Nox panicked. He had never heard his Wolf speak with such fear in his voice. Jayce rolled out of bed and got to the door when he met a strange scene. There was a heavenly light centered in the middle of the room. Within that light, black text spiraled around like a whirlwind vortex in the air. Below it all, with the book open in her hands, was Lily. "Lily!" He shouted to her, but she didn't respond. The wind grew stronger, but he refused to standby. He forced himself into the wind. His claws extended as he dropped to his knees and stabbed his claws into the floor to keep him steady. Jayce looked around for anything to knock the book out of her hands when the door to the
