The Fierce Alpha - Soothing Her Vengeful Heart

Rue POV

The garden was dead silent, even though it was filled up with crazy people. Even the sound of the tree leaves rustling could be heard. Silence ruled the table, the hearts of those seated around it racing. Their patience could never hold.

'What was going on?'

'Just show us already!'

Everyone waited in suspense as Zara lifted her card. They saw it and the ladies cheered loudly, attracting other guests to stare at them.

The future Alphas in our midst moaned in frustration. They just lost the seventh round to the girls. I just sat there, at the corner watching them. Today was the West Alpha's Birthday but they all preferred to have fun here than celebrate with the old men over there.

This was no fun for me, though. I preferred to be alone, but I was here because someone asked me to.

"Ruth, won't you join for the next round?" Zara asked me. Five pairs of eyes shot at me. They were waiting for my response. They should have known what my answer would be before fucking asking me.

"Uh, no" I said calmly, trying to force out a smile that my face couldn't produce. They hissed and continued with their games.

"Don't tell me you're waiting for him" Zara asked. I shot her a mean glare. She snickered and laughed. The rest join in the snickering. Avoiding them was the only way. They kept on chuckling silently till Ana walked in. It was her father's birthday, of course she'll have to be busy. I stood up and walked away.

"What happened to Rue?" I heard her ask as I left.

"Nothing, just join the game" someone replied.

I strolled around, watching some maids bow to me as I passed them.

I could finally breath when I saw Axel. He was standing in the midst of the two Alphas with his men behind him. He's so tall and handsome but harsh. He was talking to his father and my father. He bowed and left their midst, walking to me majestically.

"Hey muffin" he said, touching my cheek. I vibrated within when he touched me. I felt my heart racing.

"Hi" I replied with my cracked voice. He lowered his head and I felt his breath near my ear.

"Meet me at our spot in five minutes" he said in a soft whisper. I shook in fear again. I swiftly raised my head to glare at him but he seemed not to care. All he wanted from me was to meet him at the heart of the woods.

"I haven't healed since yesterday" I told him.

"Don't care" he winked and left me, wearing a mocking smile on his cute lips. I wish the ground could just open its mouth and swallow me right now. I don't want to meet with Axel now but I had to, since he's keeping something that was mine.

Fvck! My eyes scanned everyone. No one was watching me, not even my father. My heart started racing as I gathered strength to follow him into the woods. Even the other guys were focused on playing their games. I should have just joined them instead of waiting for him.

What was I thinking? After what happened yesterday! Yesterday was the day I lost my virginity to that hypocrite and he still wants to hurt me. It was my 18th birthday also. I wanted to spend it with my boyfriend. That word annoyed me.

I found my way to the heart of the woods and stood, tightening my legs. My short gown was too revealing, making me shiver because of the cold.

Immediately, I felt someone grabbing my hair and pulling it back. Of course, it was Axel. I will forever remember his stupid scent. We've been dating for two years because this dude claimed I'll be his future mate. I pray the moon goddess forbids it. I wish for someone that can handle me with care.

"Do I have to remind you to take it off?" He asked. That feeling came again. Fear, anxiety and also a little bit of anger. I've always given him what he wanted, even when he asked for my body yesterday. I made a huge mistake giving it to him because, as I've come to learn, he'll keep asking for more.

"It's still hurting down there, Axel. Please" I pleaded. He groaned and let go of my hair. I groaned in pain touching my hair.

He finally let me go!

Or not....

He appeared in front of me unbuttoning his shirt. My eyes shot wide open as my head started shaking on it's own. Even before he touched me, my legs became weak, I squeezed my toes in my shoe. His men were standing at the west end, securing the area. They dare not stand by the south territory.

He started loosening the rope around my breast region. I held his hand, stopping him.

"How dare you stop me?!" He yelled.

 The next minute, he slapped me hard, with the back of his palm and my hair covered my face. I yelped in pain but no one could hear me. I was at the heart of the woods, far away from the damn party. I could feel the pain but it left me after five seconds.

"Take this sh!t off!" He yelled at me, pulling at my gown.

"A... Axel please, don't do this now" I pleaded again, trying to push him away from my body. He moved back, due to the pressure I applied.

Oh oh!

Seems like I just made another mistake. He growled as he walked towards me. He raised his hand, wanting to hit me again. I turned my face away, waiting for the hit but... He didn't.

Did he change his mind?

I slowly raised my head and saw a tall young man with the appearance of a greek god standing before me. He was so hot and beautiful. I could sense the aura coming from him. They were unmatchable. I'm seeing him for the first time here. He held Axel's hand, stopping him from hitting me.

"Who the bloody hell are you? How dare you interfere?" Axel asked.

"Don't touch her" he said again. His voice was soothing and relaxing. I wanted to hear him sing for me...I mean, protect me from this jerk that claims to be my boyfriend.

"Get the fvck off me!" Axel yelled, pulling his hand from him. He wanted to punch my saviour but my saviour hit him first.

"You should leave" he said to me. My eyes met with his hazelnut eyes. I nodded, gathering my strength to leave the woods. As I ran pass Axel's men, they turned and saw that their master was in trouble. They immediately rushed to help him but I was gone already.

Who was that man? I just hope he's safe because he just hit the future Alpha of the West region. I suddenly found myself at the party and my father was the first person to sight me.

"There she is. Come forward Rue" he said.

I walked to him, hiding what just happened. He introduced me to one of his friends.

The man glanced at me like I was a piece of item.

"I've seen her before. Didn't know she was your daughter" he said. Of course, everyone in the city knows my sister, Zara to be the Alpha's daughter. I'm just nobody, even though I'm the first daughter.

"She's calm and kind. That's why" my father said and laughed. I tried to force a smile out but I was unable to.

"Excuse me dad" I said and left. I headed home, had my bath and climbed my bed. I recalled what happened in the woods. I hope the man was safe or... Axel.

I was trying to sleep when a message entered my phone.

I grabbed it and peeped, only to see it was from Axel. My heart jumped.

'Where the fvck you?! Come meet me by the bar' he texted. The fool didn't know I was already home. I closed my phone and covered the whole of my body, trying to sleep.

Another text came in. I turned and grabbed the phone again.

'Hurry or I'll tell your father the secret'

Bloody hell!
