The paintbrush glided smoothly on the canvas, leaving a streak along the lines I previously made with a pencil. I stepped back and smiled in satisfaction as I admire the piece before me. Today our art teacher taught us about abstract art and then told us to just draw with a free hand and see where it lead us. Needless to say, I was pretty pleased with how my piece turned out. I felt calm and happy. Painting always brought me peace and made me feel alive. I don't remember much about my father but I inherited this talent from him.
