Chapter 6

Sassy worked hard and her new boss loved her. She wasn't like how people described her. She was a good werewolf. She could also multi-task which made things easier for her boss and also made her receive tips. She watched different werewolves come and go every day and hoped one of them was her mate.

Her new friend and colleague, Delight soon noticed it.

"You're hopeful, yeah?" She asked Sassy one day, as they were less busy.

"Hopeful for what?" Sassy asked and Delight laughed.

"Your mate. You can't wait to finally meet him. I can see it."

Sassy blushed.

"Of course, I really do. If you lived my life, I'm sure you would understand how I feel. I just want to experience the feeling of being in love and being loved, if you know what I mean."

Delight nodded.

"Of course, every female werewolf wants that. I do too. I'm twenty and I still haven't found my mate yet, but I'm still hopeful, just as you are."

Sassy's heart skipped.

"You're twenty? Do I have to wait that long too?" She asked curiously.

"No, Sassy. No two werewolves have the same fate. Some werewolves find their mates on their eighteenth birthday and some don't. Some find them two weeks later, some find them months later, and some find them years later. Trust in the moon Goddess. She'd definitely pick the best mate for you." Delight said.

Sassy kept mute.

What if she had no mate?

Delight gave her a small smile and walked away.

**********

Alpha Murphy had finally picked out a day to go cause trouble for Sassy. He felt his childhood mischievous character coming back. He drove his most expensive car to the coffee shop.

Delight was the first to notice the white car parked outside. She had never seen a more beautiful car. She immediately called Sassy.

Sassy came outside too and stared at the car for some time, but she wasn't really impressed, so she went back in.

Alpha Murphy remained in his car for some time, deliberately trying to leave them in suspense.

His windows were tinted, so no one could guess who it was.

Imagine seeing the Alpha of the pack at such a local coffee shop, it was bound to bring attention.

Delight still stood at the doorway, she wanted to welcome the special customer.

After a few minutes, Alpha Murphy finally stepped out. He was in a blue suit and he left the first few buttons of his jacket open, to expose his abs. His hair was combed back and he wore black sunglasses.

Delight's jaw dropped.

Was that not the Alpha?

He looked like a god and she almost fell on her face.

She didn't realize she was standing at the door until Alpha Murphy was right in front of her. She hit her head on the door in confusion.

Sassy looked up from where she was sitting and she saw Alpha Murphy walk in. She didn't recognize him at first, and she walked up to him to take his order, as Delight was still in a daze.

Alpha Murphy waited until Sassy was close to him, before removing his glasses.

"Welcome to Joy's Delight Coffee shop sir, can I get your order?" She asked with a pen and a notepad in her hand.

Alpha Murphy didn't say a word, and he cleared his throat.

Sassy raised her eyes to look at him and her eyes widened. She immediately looked away and turned to Delight who was finally out of her daze.

"Hello, old friend." Alpha Murphy said grinning and looking around the shop.

"You! Why are you here?" She asked.

"Hey hey hey. I'm just a customer trying to get coffee. Are you chasing me away?" He asked, still grinning.

Sassy looked outside and noticed he came alone. It looked like he had deliberately come to look for her.

"There are no guards with you. Did you come to make trouble?" She asked him, she didn't want to fix her gaze on him so her wolf wouldn't get triggered.

"Just give me a glass of coffee. I wouldn't want your pretty colleague to think we're having a sweet conversation. And make sure you serve it yourself." Alpha Murphy said and Sassy walked away to get his coffee.

While she was making the coffee, she felt her wolf getting excited.

"Not now, Sage. I'm trying to not get angry." She said and suppressed her wolf's instincts.

Alpha Murphy felt his wolf getting excited too.

He was also excited. He couldn't wait to see what other amazing powers Sassy had. He laughed on remembering how he had almost died in her hands while they were kids. He glanced at her again, she looked prettier than she was then.

He shrugged off his male instincts, he was here to embarrass her.

Sassy spent a lot of time making his coffee. She was in no hurry, she wanted him to run out of patience. So, she attended to other customers and left him waiting.

Alpha Murphy only smirked. He knew the game she was playing, so he was very patient.

After delaying his order for twenty minutes, Sassy finally attended to him.

Alpha Murphy didn't even look up at her, not touch the glass.

"It's too cold. You delayed my order. Get me a glass of hot coffee, I'm paying for it." He said.

Sassy scoffed and went to do as he had said. This time, she brought his order on time, she arrogantly dropped it on the table and turned to go.

"Why are you in such haste? This isn't how you serve the Alpha." He said.

"What do you want?" Sassy asked with her back turned to him.

"Oh, what I want is quite simple. Go down on your knees and serve me my coffee." Alpha Murphy said.

Sassy didn't want to prolong the issue, so she picked up the glass and knelt before him.

Alpha Murphy took the glass from her, and as soon as she let go of it, he also let go of it and the glass fell to the floor, the contents spilled all over the floor and the glass broke into pieces, some pieces flew to Sassy's delicate skin and cut her.

Sassy got up and glared at him angrily.

Just then, they both felt an electric feeling and Sassy held her chest.

Alpha Murphy squinted his eyes, he immediately got up and left the coffee shop, while Sassy just held her chest wondering what that electric bolt meant. Was it her wolf acting up again?
