Chapter 2

CHAPTER TWO

He pulled me closer to him, I was extremely confused.

My name is Keisha not Luna, she must be one of those Ladies he spends time with.

I pushed him a little, back to his seat and I adjusted myself.

"Sir I think it's time you head home, I also need to get home." I said packing everything and putting them in order.

"No, you need to come with me meet the pack, " He said as he touched my cheeks.

"What the hell is the pack? First he said, Luna, next he's saying pack, I am so fed up of his illusions" I said as I stood up to  carry my bag with my left hand and supported him to stand up with my right hand.

He kept on staggering, he swayed unsteadily as he stumbled down the street, his vision blurred and his mind foggy from the alcohol. His movements were clumsy and slow, and I  had to focus hard to keep himself from falling over.

He tried to speak, but his words came out slurred and difficult to understand. People around him looked at him with disdain, as if he's a nuisance they'd rather avoid.

In short, he was a mess. His drunken state has robbed him of his usual composure, leaving him vulnerable and exposed. He may regret his actions later, but for now, all I could do is to help him forward and hope that he doesn't fall.

I put him in the back seat, he laid there till I drove to his house.

The house was a magnificent structure, towering over the other homes in the neighborhood like a king surveying his domain. Its walls were made of the finest stone, imported from a distant quarry, and its roof was made of pure copper, polished to a bright shine. The windows were made of thick, crystal-clear glass, and the doors were carved from solid oak, with intricate designs etched into the wood.

As I approached the house, I could see that the landscaping was equally impressive. The lawn was a lush carpet of green, perfectly manicured, with flower beds filled with exotic blooms of every color. A circular driveway led up to the front entrance, which was guarded by a massive set of wrought-iron gates, topped with gilded spikes.

Inside the house, the grandeur only grew more impressive. The foyer was a cavernous space, with a soaring ceiling and marble floors. A sweeping staircase led up to a balcony overlooking the entrance, with a crystal chandelier hanging overhead, sparkling in the light.

The living areas were equally impressive, with rooms that seemed to go on forever, filled with plush furniture, rich fabrics, and priceless works of art. The kitchen was a chef's dream, with gleaming stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets, and every imaginable gadget and tool.

And then there were the bedrooms, each one a luxurious retreat, with king-sized beds, silky sheets, and en-suite bathrooms that rivaled those in the best five-star hotels. The master suite was the crown jewel of the house, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and balcony overlooking the grounds.

In short, this was a house that exuded wealth and luxury at every turn. It was a home that only the wealthiest of the wealthy could afford, and it left no doubt that its owner had truly arrived.

After all that transpired last night, I decided to be a better version of myself but that cannot be achieved in one day, so I drew a plan to help build a life of my own.

The sound of the alarm brought me back to reality and jumped off the bed and headed for the bathroom, after brushing my teeth, I put on joggers and Polo and went out for a run. I heard it's good in the morning.

After which I took my bath, I put on some lotion, and wore a light purple suit with pants, I packed my hair in a bun,put some make up on and headed to work in a bike, I needed to be at the office before Allen.

Immediately I got to work, I arranged my desk, got ready for the day's work and waited for Allen to arrive.

Clara walked up to me

"There's a problem." She said

"What problem?" I asked

"You know the presentation with Mr Lucas?" She said looking so worried and devastated.

"Yes I know, what about it?" I questioned looking impatient.

" It has been scheduled for 11am today," she said

"What? I thought that was for Friday, what Happened?" I asked.

"Well, his secretary said he was trying to reach you but couldn't..." She said and I cut her off.

"Then what Happened, speak fast." I said

"Allow me to talk please, but the couldn't reach you, so I was called and they said Mr Lucas will be leaving the country before Friday, so they rescheduled." She ended while rubbing her hands on her cloth.

I breathed a deep breath and answered

"Okay, let me think, let me think," at this point I was standing and pacing up and down trying to think.

"Mr Allen has a meeting by 10am this morning, is there a way you can stall them till we're done with the meeting, I'll find a way to let him know, because if we don't let him know we'll be losing a potential customer," I concluded.

Clara rushed back to her desk, while I was thinking of the best possible way to relay it to Mr Allen.

"What is this that I hear?" I froze for about two seconds. That was definitely his voice, I'm in trouble.

I stood up immediately with both hands behind, waiting for him to get to his door.

"Good morning sir," I greeted.

"What is good about the morning?" He questioned.

There was the sound of a loud silence, I could hear it. I didn't know what was good about the morning but I couldn't respond either.

In the absence of no answer, he headed for his door.

"Get my coffee." He demanded.

I left to get his coffee, right there I saw Clara. Hmmn, I told her not to spill

She was pacing up and down.

"Calm down baby girl." I said as I picked up the cup.

"I didn't mean to, he he he walked in while I was talking about it and he asked about it, so I..." She said

"So you told him, no problem, you've made it easier for me, at least it wasn't my fault," I concluded.

"And... how is this not your fault?" She inquired

"I didn't get drunk yesterday after the meeting, if only we had gone to our respective homes after the meeting, I would have planned this whole thing better." I said sounding less bothered.

"And what do you mean by...' I cut her off.

"It's okay, I need to deliver this before the temperature drops, see you later." I said

"Later.' she replied as she waved at me.

I knocked twice and waited for a response.

"Come in" I heard from inside.

I opened the door slightly and dropped the coffee carefully on the table.

"Here's your coffee sir," I said.

There was no response.

"So you have a meeting with Movita LTD by 10am and the presentation with Mr Lucas by 11am"

"What about the venue?" He asked

"It's within the same vicinity,sir." I answered.

"Alright, you can go."

I turned to leave but he called out.

"Luna."

He's not drunk is he? I said to myself.
